Fake It ‘til You Make It

You know how when you pick up a new novel or when a TV show catches your eye, you have some sort of anticipatory expectation? Let's say the excitement gauge is one to a hundred. Accompanied by whatever feeling you impose on it. So, when you actually dig in, it misses, meets, or goes above expectations. Or maybe many out of many times, it's something that's not quite what's on your mind but goes beyond imagination.
