Connor was back at the VIP area as he was welcomed by Lisa the moment he stepped in. He handed her a bag full of water bottles and other items before he sat down next to the campfire.
Its place was dark with the only source of light being the fire and other crafted lit torches. The group of four talked as they laughed, easing the tension. The occasional gunshots no longer bothered them with the occasional screams and other noises.. What could they do about it? The sounds were too far away.
"I know we've been planning to leave the Hotel but.. Why?" Maggy asked. "It's safe here, the only threat is the threat we know about but if we go out there wouldn't we have too much shit to worry about? Other undead, other variants and even other humans.. You guys are not kids so we all know that we'll be in much more danger from humans than these things"
"Actually.. That makes a lot of sense" Earl said, lost in thought.
"I.. agree" Lisa spoke as well before looking at Connor, waiting for his answer.
"It does make sense but what about supplies? At one point what we have here will be over, leaving us starving.. I would rather fight that thing with a full stomach than when I'm weakened" Connor disagreed, making some valid points, but what he was actually thinking about were the Ruins.. Ruins that were not explored, captured or too dangerous to explore. He wanted to get his hands on some Artifacts before others got to them.
"You're right, the least we can do is clear a path and have a way out when we need it" Earl said, nodding.
"... This brings us back to our original problem.. That Variant!" Maggy said.
"I'll take care of it, just need a few more days" Connor spoke with confidence. After he learns the Spells he wants, that Variant will be nothing but a practice dummy for him.
"And what are you going to do?" Maggy asked.
"We have a pistol, I'm fast and its large size, with these on my side I can come up with something so let me prepare" Connor said before standing up to leave, he took a few steps into the Bungalow when he heard something. He quickly grabbed his Axe and started walking in the direction of the sound.
Hemph!
Someone grunted as he jumped over the gate and landed heavily on the ground before falling on his ass. He wore a white outfit and a Captain's hat.
Connor stood from a distance watching the comical scene as it played out. The Captain stood up, wiped his butt and then watched another crewmate jump as well.
"There you go" He said before they both turned around and started walking. "Who's there!" The Captain quickly yelled after seeing a silhouette in the darkness looking towards him.
"So something did happen!" Connor spoke before walking towards them.
"It's… you? You're the bastard that stole the boat!" The crewmate spoke, pointing at Connor with anger.
"And since you're here you stole a boat too" Connor said with a chuckle.
"It's my ship and those were my boats, it's not stealing!" The Captain spoke with a frown.
"Ok 'Captain', tell me what happened" Connor questioned.
"What happened? Some piece of shit killed himself, that's what happened, he died and turned into one of those things before he started to infect others in the middle of the night.. When we figured out what was happening it was too late" The Captain explained as he cursed. "I hope he's burning in the deepest pits of hell!"
"Did I not tell you staying there was not a good idea? Confining all those people as they watched the city burn with front row seats wouldn't end well.. You barely had any supplies too" Connor said scornfully. "You acted like you knew what you were doing and now look at what happened!"
"Shut your mouth!" The crewmate yelled. "The supplies ended and they starved for 3 days only but that coward took his life over this shit? You can't blame it on us!"
"Starved?" Connor said with a frown. "And yet you look plumb and energetic!"
"Ok, I've had enough" The crewmate said as he lifted his machete in plain view and showed it to Connor. "Give us that Axe and whatever supplies you have since you look plumb and energetic yourself bitch!"
"Indeed.. As expected from humans" Connor sighed, grabbing his Axe before he started moving. His speed was faster than the crewmate could follow as he turned his head when everything started spinning.
'Is.. is that a headless body?' He thought as he saw the body of a man from the top without a head. 'A crewmate outfit?' These were his last thoughts before darkness won. The head of the man slammed onto the ground with a disturbing wet thud and right after the body itself followed.
"What.. what have you done!" The Captain's eyes widened, not believing what just happened. "How are you so f…" Another set of words drifted when his head was split in half from the middle of his scalp, falling instantly with his body twitching.
"Boring fight!" Connor muttered as he lifted the two corpses and walked towards the large corpse pile and threw them underneath the cover, not forgetting to grab the Machete and the Captain's Pistol… too bad he couldn't use it.
Connor put the Axe on the ground and held the Machete as he started swinging it in the air, a smile slowly crept on his face when he started moving rhythmically with some attacks that would not be seen with the untrained eye.
"I guess my Swordsmanship applies to Machetes as well" He said with a full smile.

Connor laid in his spot on the sofa, ready to go to sleep. Luckily when he got back no one heard nor saw him leave, making his little encounter a secret.
Remembering how the Captain and the crewmate back on the ship barely listened to his warning, ignoring him and then kicking him out of the cabin made the scene of the headless corpses of the arrogant and disrespectful crewmate with the cowardly and idiotic Captain pleasing. He smiled as he enjoyed the feeling of overpowering someone that once had power over him and it felt great.
"Hmm.. Power.. I need more!"
