CRUNCH!
Connor sat there, not moving a single muscle and barely breathing, doing his best to stay as quiet as he could.
The Humanoid Monsters kept eating the meat while one of them bellowed and struck one of the Alligators before it could take another peice of meat.
Connor watched with wide eyes as the Alligator creature was sent flying as if he was hit by a train. It slammed onto the House wall and the whole place shook.
"They're strong!" Connor thought. "With this strength why didn't they break into the house sooner?" This confused Connor but he quickly shrugged it off soon after. He thought of Grim and the Grimoire appeared, still open on the last page.
[Suitable Passive Ability Found]
A smile crept onto Connor's face as he waited in contained excitement.
[The Eldritch Eye]
"Eldritch Eye? What is that?" He frowned for a second but quickly cheered himself up. "It might be powerful, I should investigate it after these things leave… Its name is similar to the Lesser Eldritch Blast, is it related? Did I get this because of my Chaos Elemental Affinity?" Connor shook his head before he continued to watch the creatures.
The Alligator that was struck wobbled back, cracks could be seen on its skin with many missing scales and blood dripping, it let out a low snarl and started licking the blood on the ground instead.
Connor now was confident that the humanoid reptiles are a league stronger than him. "Maybe they're First Order Creatures? Strength type?" Connor's guess was not far off from the truth, he kept watching them as they finished their meal, looked around the house a bit for anything else and then left shortly after.
Although their footsteps soon faded into the distance, Connor could feel something.. Or sense something and this prompted him to not leave his hiding place.
ROARGH!!
A bellow came from the front door of the house before the creature took a few steps inside, looking around a bit and then leaving, its footsteps following the others.
"I knew it!" Connor took a deep breath as the feeling he had slowly started to vanish. "Was that a sixth sense or something?"
Crawling from underneath the bed, pushing the mattress away as he stood back up on his feet, Connor realized that the pain was completely gone now as if it was never there, he felt the opposite.
His body was lighter than it used to and he felt calm and collected. He quickly grabbed another Medium Healing Potion and gobbled it down, making sure all his injuries were completely healed before he grabbed his sword and started moving.
"I can't let those things find me.. I haven't even learned my new Spell and facing those Strength type is dangerous, though i still don't understand how they took their time to break through the house"
[The Magic Energy directed and absorbed by the Host was passing through the walls, temporarily reinforcing them in the process]
"Interesting" Connor said before he started leaving the house, walking on the path back to Kam's spot, opposite to where the Monsters went. As he walked, he asked Grim. "Explain my Passive Ability!"
[The Eldritch Eye: The eye of the otherworldly, weird, ghostly and uncanny. Gives the Host vision into the Other World, the dumpster of horrors belonging to all the Worlds in existence.
Activation Condition: ????]
"What the fuck does that mean?" Connor read the description and started thinking to himself. 'The eye of the otherworldly, weird, ghostly and uncanny? And it allows me to look into the Other World? What use would that have? And why is the Activation Condition full of question marks?" Connor couldn't even think of a theory to start experimenting from, which was ridiculous.
Connor was silent for a few seconds before he asked. "Grim, if I upgrade my Strength and Dexterity to 10 Stars, would I receive another Passive?"
[If a Stat reaches 10 Stars, a suitable Passive will be Generated for each Stat]
"It does? Then why didn't Craig tell me this?" Connor was confused, then thought of something. "What if this is not common knowledge? How many people would suffer increasing all their Stats and discover something like this? Probably not many" Connor smiled as now he had a smaller goal in mind. "I have 3 150 Soul Energy points, I just need 4 000 to upgrade another Stat… or should I get a new Spell first?" Connor had two options now. He could either get another Passive through upgrading his Strength or Dexterity, or save the SE points to get himself another way more powerful Spell than the ones he had… This choice was fairly obvious for Connor, the only reason he had this much points in the first place was because of the Spells he had, which made it easy to kill creatures that were most likely above his league at the time.
"New Spell it is" What he wanted to do now was get a new Spell for either the Ice or Chaos Element, which was another obvious answer. "It was mostly due to the Chaos Element that the creatures were easy to deal with while the Ice just bought me some time… I would rather get another Chaos Spell but let me see the Spells first and I'll decide after"
