After reading through the list, Connor couldn't help but frown at a specific spell's description on the list.

"The Orthodox Gods and their Avatars? What does that mean? Will I get smitten by lightning or some shit?" Connor couldn't understand what an Avatar was exactly but becoming an enemy of some gods? He was not interested.
He quickly read through the list one more time before deciding. "These 5 seem interesting!"
- [Chill strike: An improved version of Chill Touch. A bolt of icy cold energy of purplish color causing major cold damage with slowness for 10 minutes. 5 Star Dexterity and Chill Touch Spell required or Spell will backfire. Instantaneous Casting]
"This one seems to be a more powerful version of Chill Touch without the Curse part, so it would have an instantaneous effect? And an instantaneous casting.. This one is good"
- [Dragonfrost: Through the Casters palm, slams an icy gust into a creature within 20 feet, pushing them back up to five feet and causing them injury. Instantaneous Casting]
"I can use this one alongside my Sword, making it nearly impossible to be swarmed as I fight with the Sword… but what if I face Creatures like the Alligators and I don't have enough strength to injure them physically?... Seems like a good combination but in a world where I can face creatures that far surpass me I shouldn't get too excited.. It's a no then"

"These 2 are summoning spells.. The first one, the Chaos Spawn would be a good tanker while I fight in the back… it'll be good to have my own party member.
For the second one though, it's more like a scout with a single attack… would be useful if I ever decide to go exploring dangerous areas… another good choice but not very useful in combat.. Not trusting the effectiveness of that sound wave thing"

"The Lesser Eldritch Blast is already strong enough as it is, let alone an upgraded version… a very good spell"
As Connor continued to contemplate, a question suddenly appeared in his head. "Hey Grim.. If I learn an upgrade of a 1 Star Spell, does that take up a Spell slot or just affects the old one?"
[A magus can learn one Spell per element, if a Spell is upgradable, then it does not take up a new spot and effects the old spell]
"What?" Connor said in excitement. "I get it, a Magus would have to find the Upgraded version of his old spell if he ever wished to grow his old spells, that makes sense since a Magus at the fifth Order won't have any use for his old spells, having only 1 useful one each rank seems ridiculous" Connor continued. "If it is as you say then Chill Strike and Eldritch Blast are both a must have.. As for my next Spell it would be Chaos Spawn, so I can fight and have someone or something have my back.. Something that won't betray me"
In his excitement while he kept adding Spells to get, one after the other, Connor forgot something important…

"Shit!" Connor sighed. "I have 3 150 SE, I can only get one Spell.. An upgrade.." He thought about it for a second and spoke. "Grim, give me Eldritch Blast"
A ticklish feeling came from his whole body as information and knowledge in his head changed, befitting the new Spell. "With this I will be able to hunt more of those Alligators, but not today"
Connor sighed as he finally reached Kam's spot, finding him sitting there. When their eyes met Kam seemed surprised as he stood up and jogged towards him.
"Connor, did you just come from the beach?" Kam asked.
"Yes, why?"
"What do you mean why? The Reptile Race swarmed the Beach yesterday and killed whatever Animal that failed to escape and finished eating all the corpses.. There was a warning sign. Did you not see it? How are you alive?" Kam asked multiple questions with confusion on his face.
"No… I didn't see any signs and they didn't see me" Connor answered with half a lie.
"You were an extremely lucky man.. The Reptile Race is frightening, I heard that when they reach adulthood they naturally become First Order Warriors while their younglings are at the peak of the normal stages.. Lucky for us they're low in numbers, if such a race could reproduce like humans then we'll be wiped out eventually"
