Back at the camp Connor chatted with Craig as he eyed Brog once in a while, some insane thoughts going through his head.
"The Eldritch Blast is instantaneous now, I don't need to keep throwing gang signs anymore" Connor thought before chuckling, a plan taking shape in his head.
Connor knew damn well that if he ever used Magic in his fight with Brog, winning the fight later or losing, it will not be forgiven. Brog is not a man that would let things slide or someone with an open mind. "If I want him to keep his mouth closed after the fight is over, then I need to force it" Connor muttered before sitting down near the campfire with Craig and a few others as they chatted and played a card game Connor barely got the hang off.
After the sun completely vanished and both of the moons had settled in their position, people started to go inside their houses, tired after a long day.
Brog stood up as well before he went inside his house and was about to close the door when Connor's foot appeared and blocked him from doing so.
"What do you think you're doing?" Brog said softly but with a threatening tone.
"Meet me in the Arena in 20 minutes, don't let others see you" Connor said. "Unless you're afraid, little pup" Saying it back to this arrogant bull put a smile on Connor's face as he walked away.
Brog was silent for a few minutes before he softly laughed and whispered loud enough for Connor to hear. "You've finally come"
…
Connor stood in the middle of the Arena, his hand tied together while his thumbs facing the sky. The image looked odd but he just seemed like he was doing some weird form of strentching.
Footsteps echoed with the noises of the Swamp as a man appeared in the light of the torches, he held a giant Axe in one hand and a tower shield in the other.
"Alright tough guy, how do you wish to die?" Brog laughed. His plan was to end the pest that betrayed him and hang his head in his home for decoration and a reminder, but he never thought that the bug would come to him by itself instead.
"Shut up" Connor muttered as he pointed his thumbs at him. Unknown to Brog, a skeleton hand already dug itself inside of him before the fight even began.
Brog's agility seemed above average at best compared to a superhuman but his heavy metal armor and shield made it near impossible for Connor to do anything. With every swing the air shifted, proving this man's enormous strength.
Brog swung his Axe downwards, slamming it into the ground and creating a small pit as rocks flew everywhere, luckily Connor already jumped to the side, dodging the terrifying strike in time.
"My 5 in Dexterity is showing, luckily i've increased it back at the beach" Connor muttered before he vanished from his position and appeared again on the other side. Flanking seemed to be nearly impossible as Brog always managed to turn around before Connor even managed to do anything.
"Bug, you've improved!" Brog said, blocking a strike from Connor. "You pack quite the punch, now why don't you tell me where the fuck you got the Stone Tablet to do that, I haven't seen nor heard of you increasing anything for a while at Camp!"
"You're smarter than you look" Connor said with a smile, dodging again. "You want me to tell you?"
"Speak!" Brog kept running around as his attacks hit nothing, slowly pissing him off.
"I got it from your mother when I spent the night with her the other day!" Connor laughed. He always saw Brog as this terrifying man with immense power when he first came to the camp, and indeed he was as he thought but Connor was no longer the same, using only his physical stats, Brog was incapable to even land a single hit on him. "I'm stronger… a lot stronger!" He muttered to himself.
"Bringing my mother into this huh" Brog didn't say anything else as he started attacking relentlessly, soon after the whole Arena turned into a huge area with multiple pits and holes.
"Shit!" Only now did Connor realize something.. Something he missed. "He has been destroying the ground to ruin my footwork, slowing me down!"
A swing came right at Connor as he was unable to dodge further, it hit his sword which he raised as fast as he could but the poor weapon quickly broke and shattered as the rest of the force hit his body and sent him flying back into the wall.
Seeing his attack finally land, Brog laughed loudly as he saw the blood dripping from Connor's mouth. "You couldn't land a single hit on me and yet you lost already? TRASH!" Brog opened his arms wide showing his chest.
"Gotchu!" Connor had been waiting for a long time now for an opening like this. Eldritch Blast was a spell that, unlike Chill Touch, could be seen by the naked eye and if he shot one that was blocked by Brog, he would reveal his hidden card locking his loss instantly.
"ELDRITCH BLAST!" Connor yelled as his hand reached forward and an eerie ball of nothingness flew out. The light bent in its path as if opening the way for it before it landed on Brog's chest.
"DAMN IT" Although he saw it coming he was not fast enough to react, making the attack land successfully. "NOOO!" Memories of his past, his present and future appeared in his head. Connor watched in interest as he had never used this spell on an intelligent lifeform before, if Brog could even be considered that. From Brog's occasional mutterings and his insanity filled screams, Connor understood a few things.
"So it brings out all the bad memories of his life, every torturous thought and a future he despises, merging them all together, creating the best and most suitable nightmare for the target" Connor smiled as he watched.
Brog's body was covered with small layers of frost that was only able to slow him down slightly, but what did most of the damage was the Eldritch Blast as Connor kept casting it every 5 seconds.
Blood, snot and spit were falling from Brog's face as he screamed in agony, sadness and anger. This continued for 5 minutes before he fell to the ground, hanging onto his last thread of life.
"P…please!" He barely muttered with his blood filled mouth.
"Shut up!" Connor didn't entertain anything this man had to say, whatever story and background he had and whatever made him that sad and terrified. Connor grabbed Brog's Axe which he was barely able to lift and decapitated the man.
SLASH!
His head rolled on the ground, settling in one of his own created pits. Blood rushed everywhere as the Arena became a terrifying painting of destruction and death!
"Thank you for the loot!" Connor muttered, taking the shield, Axe, even the Armor and of course the man's crystal, shoving them all away in his own Inventory, dragging the body soon after and dumping it in the swamp water to feed the creatures.
"They'll soon notice his disappearance, I shouldn't stick around much longer" Connor muttered, walking away while drinking a Healing Potion..
