[Strength: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐] (600 SE)
[Dexterity: ⭐⭐⭐] (400 SE)
[Spirit: ⭐] (200 SE)
Connor looked at his Stats and started thinking.. "I have 250 SE left, I can only upgrade my Spirit… that won't be useful until I have 10 Stars right? Or does upgrading Spirit give me extra Mana or some shit" Connor muttered to himself when Grim appeared.
[Spirit improves Host's casting in all aspects, including memory and Magic Energy sense]
With the explanation Connor didn't hesitate to add a Star to his Spirit. He felt some pressure and right after things cleared up, his breathing was in sync and his eyes had a deeper hue.
[Spirit: ⭐⭐] (300 SE)
Connor could feel his memory clearing up and his control over his body's detailed movement was deeper. He knew that if he tried casting Chill Touch which took him approximately 5 seconds to cast, it would take him around 3 seconds, which might not seem like a big difference to some with only 2 seconds less but in a fight every second counts.
Calculating how much would he spend if he wanted to reach 10 Stars from 0, Connor found out that he would need 5 500 SE, which was not a small number.
"My strength Stat is the highest with 5 Stars so it would cost me 4 000 SE to reach 10 Stars, while my Dexterity would cost me 4 900 SE and my Spirit 5 200 SE" Connor muttered to himself before sighing. "I'm looking for more of a Mage or Magus build so the Spirit is what I should be focusing on if I want a Passive that suits it.. What a pain in the ass!" Connor was getting annoyed at the lack of beasts around the Camp now, only a few stragglers were left and he wasn't about to run around for 15 SE each.
Brog was still something Connor wanted to take care of and did not wish to leave the Camp just yet. "Maybe i should threaten him with the evidence and get the fragment from him that way" Connor thought about it but quickly stopped himself. If he did something like that Brog would be in rage as he and all his people would come after him with full force. "I have no other choice!" Connor packed his things and started moving. His only option now was to head towards the beach where the corpses were, especially now that most beasts left already. The reason he did not go there at the start is because of the numbers. Kam told him that he saw a few packs of Wolves head in there with other monsters, which discouraged Connor, but now it should have cleared up slightly.
In front of the rundown cabin Connor found Kam's spot empty. He frowned a bit as he did not even see the man return to the camp but shrugged and continued on.
The familiar path he came from was still the same. The grass, trees and even the first house he found back then was the same. He approached and set up a temporary base inside the house before moving out.
On the way a giant Alligator looking creature was on the path while feeding on what was left of a poor Sailor as it bit and broke the leg bones of the poor man, crushing them as it chewed. The Alligator had a long body with bigger arms and legs. Connor looked at the creature with a frown and slowly snuck towards it, holding his sword tightly.
A quick movement from the footwork Skill he learned and he was in front of the creature before it could react, receiving a stab right in the eye. Connor smiled, waiting for the SE points to come but to his surprise the muscles and tissue of the Creature stopped the Sword from going any further, protecting its brain.
"What?" Connor muttered before jumping back as a snap and a loud chomp was heard. The alligator bit into the air and growled before its whole body twisted and turned.. Standing on its back legs like a person. Its claws and sharp endless teeth shone before it bent its back and shot forward like a snake, going after Connor without stopping.
"Shit!" Connor muttered as he dodged to the side with his arm brushing by the creature, luckily he kept it.
Seeing the Alligator stop and turn towards him about to attack again, Connor was ready this time, but with the speed the thing shot towards him again he couldn't counter as dodging with everything intact was already impressive.
"Damn it, this thing is like a bull with a grinder for a mouth!" Connor quickly balanced himself ready for the next attack.. And it came, instantly ripping a small part of his Leather Armor like nothing. "Where did this fucking thing come from!" He muttered again, taking quick glances around him and then locking back onto the beast.
This continued for a while before an idea came to life. Connor swiftly led the Creature around until he was at a spot he wanted. He smiled and waited. "Come at me bitch!" As if understanding what was spoken the Alligator seemed to attack with much more force, but again Connor dodged and the smile on his face stayed, widening after hearing a loud thud.
A boulder with cracks forming everywhere now shook as the Alligator shook its head, trying to get back its senses. After a bit of time it succeeded, turning around to face the man that still just stood there with a smile.
"Nice!" Connor said, releasing his hands from each other and grabbing his Sword again from its sheath.
Connor dodged again and on the third time another thud was heard before he moved and struck the Alligator scales, leaving merely a small scratch.
RARGH!
The Beast seemed to have felt something as it turned around and roared. Its skin slowly started to have a light ice blue color as its dash was no longer too fast for Connor to counter.
BAM!
With a kick the beast was sent to the side as it slid onto the dirt ground, twisting its body again quickly and standing back up. As its head turned towards the human, a dark chaotic orb with multiple dents and petrousions that kept changing struck the beast.
Suddenly, the Alligator's mind went blank as it started thrashing about, destroying trees and kicking dirt everywhere as blood kept pouring out of its nose.
Connor smiled and nodded. The effects of the Lesser Eldritch Blast Spell were chaos damage, which was what was happening right now. The target would feel confusion and chaotic thoughts filling its head as something eats at it from the inside, making pain and all of the above turning it wild.
This created time for Connor to Cast Chill Touch again and then Lesser Eldritch Blast, activating the Chill curse and at the same time adding the effect of the blast.
Shortly after the poor creature laid down unmoving as an overwhelming amount of Soul Energy went into Connor, prompting him to quickly open Grim and look.
[550 SE]
"This thing gave me 500 SE?" He said surprised. The creature was strong, fast and durable, Connor knew this, but he never imagined getting this much from it. He approached the Creature's body and started striking with his Sword, but no matter how many times he struck nothing happened. After hitting the same spot over and over again Connor stopped and frowned. "It's the Spells!" He said. "The Spells did internal damage and killed it, otherwise I wouldn't even manage to injure it at all except for the sneak attack that did nothing!"
Connor left the body with a sigh as he couldn't even collect anything from it, it's body was too tough to cut up and even if he was able to, the knowledge of gutting animals had nothing about this thing, as if what he knew was only for weak ones only.
"What was I expecting, Sam is just a normal Hunter" Connor thought as he kept walking before he suddenly froze in place, looking ahead with a frown.
On the beach where he woke up the first day he came here sat 4 Alligators as they dug into the dirt, pulling out a corpse Connor was familiar with.
"Don't you fucking touch her!" He muttered as his hands moved, starting his casting!
