Connor's actions were foolish, acting rashly like that but, unexpectedle he was not feeling mad or angry that those creatures were defiling and eating an old friend's corpse, it was the fact that he felt nothing that set him off.
Although the time spent together was not that long, numbering around 3 days at most, but seeing her get ripped apart and eaten didn't really bother him much.
"Am I a monster?" He muttered to himself, gritting his teeth. His actions were more to show that he did feel something or try to push whatever emotions or genuine reaction hidden within him and bring it out… unfortunately, the only thing that he managed to do was grab those powerful monstrosities' attention.
The 4 Alligator looking creatures all looked at him with their unsettling reptilian eyes as they growled sending him some kind of warning or scaring him to leave.
The Skeleton ice blue colored hand already dug itself into the first Alligator.. This was the Spell he cast instantly which he repeated. "If they're not going to initiate then i'll use the opportunity" 3 more Ice blue Skeleton hands entered the other 3 creatures as they luckily felt nothing, but seeing Connor not leaving and just standing there doing whatever agitated them as they started walking towards him threateningly while growling.
This was when Connor's hands moved again and an ink black chaotic orb flew and hit the first Alligator on the head, activating the curse while the chaos element caused it to panic and go crazy.
The moment the Alligator started rolling and attacking randomly a tail swung and struck its friend, activating the Chill Touch curse on it in the process, which gave Connor enough time, in the creatures confusion, to cast and strike the last 3 creatures.
"How is this easier than fighting the lonesome Alligator back there?" Connor muttered as he continued to cast his spells over and over again. "Well.. I approached the first one and started a Melee fight without knowing its strengths and weaknesses… I should remember this!" Connor started noting down his mistakes, luckily this one did not cost him his life and he ended up learning something from it. His earthly mindset was still subconsciously active as he just saw an Alligator and looked down on it as if it was a normal creature with only the meager strength he had.

"With my Spells and their Elements I completely counter these things.. And they give me a fat amount of Soul Energy" Connor smiled, looking around. "I have 2 Stars in Spirit now, maybe I should check out the 2 Star Spells!" Connor knew that he can only learn a new Spell after he reaches 10 Stars, but he wanted to confirm something.
Grim appeared and opened to a blank page with nothing in it except the SE amount Connor currently had at the top right corner.
"I knew it.." Connor muttered. "Grim, show me Rank 3 Spells" He ordered again and received the same result, a blank empty page.. This continued until he asked for the 10 Star Spells page in which a full List appeared in front of him this time. "This makes more sense, Mages or Novices can learn their First Spells with only one Star in Spirit, but when they can add another it is when they reach 10 Stars so having Spells for each Star upgrade makes no sense!" He said, closing the page without going through it. "I'm still not there yet, but it wouldn't be that long though"
Connor opened Grim and looked at his Stats, he removed his Dex Skill Ring and upgraded his Dexterity twice before wearing it again and watching his Stat reach 5 Stars.

His joints cracked as his body became extremely light while his eyesight sharpened, easily locking onto anything and his reaction speed reached superhuman levels.
Connor did indeed want a Mage build but why would he waste his advantage? From what he learned, the Void Tablets had a certain usage limit before they turned into dust, like what happened with his own back then, but Grim right here had no usage limits, replacing it with a large amount of Soul Energy, though that can be easily replenished.
"My physical Stats come first, then Magic.. I can't be a full mage if I can't even aim and strike my target properly!" Connor remembered Craig's movement and speed, which would be impossible for him to land a hit on the man without a sneak attack. "I can't even hit him and he hasn't even reached the First Order yet, then what about those who did? How fast and powerful would they be?" Connor muttered to himself as he continued. "Grim, add 3 Stars to Spirit"

Connor felt his very Soul shake as the world gained more color, his senses sharpened and his mind clearing even further. Connor could feel his casting speed and understanding of the 2 Spells he had deepening.
These feelings of clear improvements in power were addicting, Connor smiled and thought. 'This is amazing… If this is how it feels like while only at this weak level, I wonder how it would feel like at the top levels..'
Connor's eyes shone as his desire for power grew every second. He clenched his hands, jumping up and down a bit to test his body before he continued his hunt.
"I'm going to wipe this whole beach clean!" He muttered before spotting more of the Alligator Creatures ahead.
