Chapter 2 - Part 1

RONA'S POINT OF VIEW

We went to a park near our house. As always, Father, Mother, Rhein, and I were together.

"Sister, gotcha!" Rhein invited me to play chase with her.

I looked at her badly because I felt pain as she pinched my waist. "I am not in the mood to play."

"Say 'yes', Sister. Please. Say 'yes'. If you do not want to play with me, you are ugly," she said. She even managed to roll her eyes.

I just ignored what she had told me. She could not scare me just like that. "I do not want to play, Rhein."

"Please." Pouting her lips, huh?

I sighed. She might report to our parents that I was bullying her. "All right. Gotcha!" And I started running as she chased after me.

"Kids, let us eat! Stop that now!" Rhein and I stopped at once and turned to Mother who was preparing our meal.

"Yes, Mother!" I replied. "Rhein, come on."

"Sister, I still want to play. I do not want to eat yet."

"If you do not eat, worms will pierce your tummy."

Her eyes narrowed at me because of that. "Sister, you are disgusting."

I laughed. This kid was being crazy. She dared to call me 'disgusting'. "You talk too much. Let us go." I grabbed her hand and pulled her to where our parents were. I did not have a hard time forcing her to come. She quietly followed.

"Sit down there," Father instructed us while pointing to the bench opposite where they were sitting.

"Yes, Father!"

The food was ready on the table. I was about to grab a dish when Rhein suddenly slapped my hand. It turned almost red. It hurt as well.

My eyes glared, furious. "What is your problem?"

"Pray first. You are so excited to eat," she uttered calmly. Whoa, how kind. Her mood changed very quickly. An old man was defeated by her amazing temperance.

I breathed deeply. "Okay. Fine. Who is going to pray?"

The three of them stared at each other and smiled. My forehead wrinkled in wonder.

"You!" they answered in unison, making me almost deaf. I shook my head. Getting childish again, huh?

I took a deep breath before praying.

In the afternoon, we went home. We ate dinner and got ready for sleep.

I was done showering and changing into my pajamas. I entered our room and saw Rhein sitting on the bed.

There were only two rooms in the house. Rhein and I slept together and so did Father and Mother.

Rhein moved closer to me as I sat on the bed's surface. "Sister, tell me a bedtime story. Please."

"I do not want to."

"That is how you are, huh? You are so evil. You are bad," she voiced out and rushed to lie down.

What a brat. I would grow old faster because of this sibling of mine. I always rejected her every time she asked me to do storytelling. Poor her, she did not get even used to it.

I lied down, resting my body. Rhein turned her back on me and went straight to sleep. I just closed my eyes and slept as well.

Someone was rapidly shaking my shoulder, waking me up. The weeping Rhein appeared before my eyes.
