RHEIN'S POINT OF VIEW
The morning had come but here I was, even for a few minutes, I could not sleep. What happened yesterday still haunted my mind.
I hardly thought what else was the possible reason but found none. That was the only possible reason I knew. If what Xyrille and Jean said was true, then it was likely that would happen to me either.
I felt as if my head hurt even more when I still stayed lying on the bed so, I got up. I picked up my phone from over the side table and turned that on. I turned it off last night because my friends kept calling. I called them already to say I was fine but to their hard skulls, they kept calling. So even though I knew they were worried, I shut off my phone. That was what you called 'peace'.
I closed my eyes tightly when I saw Jean's name on the phone screen. I was not spared until this time. "Finally, you answer! Did you know I have been calling you all night?!"
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "Did you plan to deafen me?! Just tell me. I will go to your house now to strangle you!"
She laughed on the other line. "Just a joke. You, how boring, cannot take a joke. We did not chop you of too many calls.."
"Really, huh?" I looked at the notification bar. "You have dialed more than a hundred missed calls."
"Yes, I admit. If you had just answered, that would not take that much so do not complain."
"I had updated you about my condition. It was nothing serious. Please, for the nth time, do not worry. I am still alive."
I heard her sigh. "We already knew that. All we want to ask is if you are coming to school now or not. We are trying to call Sister Rona but she did not answer our calls. Is not she there at your home?"
"There is. She told our adviser yesterday, I would not attend today. Just see you tomorrow."
"Is that so? All right. Rest well."
I could feel the sadness in her voice. I shook my head while smiling. "It is only a day. We will meet again tomorrow."
"Promise?"
I laughed. Sometimes, I really like this kid-liked side of Jean. "How awful. As if I am leaving."
"Of course, for assurance."
"Okay. Promise."
"Bye. See you!"
"Bye."
"Early in the morning, how noisy you are."
Who was that? I accidentally dropped the phone and my body automatically stiffened when I heard that voice. "Am I just imagining that?" I whispered to myself with a laugh. "I think I am going crazy. How can there be a man here and still lying on the floor? He is even using my sister's pink sleeping bag."
He opened his eyes and glanced at me with dullness. "You are not crazy. Maybe, stupid? Yes."
Out of my instinct, I kicked him in the face when he was fit to get up. He lied down again and groaned. "D-do not come near if you do not want to be beaten," I threatened though nervously.
"Crap. Are you like that with your sister's friends?" Instead of being mad, he managed to smile.
