RHEIN'S POINT OF VIEW
"Rhein." As soon as I heard that voice, my whole system trembled. My eyes automatically searched for where that old voice came from. I saw a crow outside the window. Its one eye peeked through the closed curtains and stared at me. Though scared, I would have approached it but even before that, it had already flown away. Gradually, I felt better after that.
"What are you looking at? Is there a problem with your curtain?" I shifted my sight back at Brother Dylan. He seemed to have noticed me staring there earlier but I guessed he did not see the crow so he was wondering.
"Ah, nothing. I just noticed the violet curtains do not suit the green wall. I plan to change it later," I excused myself.
"Oh, I see." He smiled. "Oh, right. The answer to your question, I think, I and your sister, it is impossible to be 'us'. And yes, do not plan to match me with your sister because you might regret it."
I just took a deep breath. I thought, my dream for Sister Rona would come true. Wrong 'expectation' again.
While eating, Brother Dylan and I chatted bout what kind of person Sister is when it comes to working. He informed me that she is very cool and professional.
I wanted to put into my mind what he was saying about my sister but unfortunately, I could not. The voice and appearance of the crow earlier still played in my mind. I could not help but wonder if it was just a coincidence and if I was just imagining the voice. I tried to convince myself that it was just a possible effect of my lack of sleep but my brain was such a wonderer. It even crossed my mind that it might have something to do with the witch and what happened to me yesterday.
"Rhein, are you okay?" Brother asked.
I tried to smile. "I am okay."
After eating, he bid goodbye. He also needed to prepare for his job. Sister seemed on her way home as well.
Out of boredom at home, wearing my gray hoodie, shorts, and white shoes, I went out to the mall. Sister Rona allowed me with the condition that I would call her if my head was hurt again.
I walked around the stores inside.
Cloud-minded, I even stumbled upon the section of the department store where the men's underwear were displayed. I was mistaken by a saleslady who said I was going to buy some for my boyfriend (I do not have any). She teased me big time but thanks to me, I was able to hold back. Otherwise, I would have ruined her face.
I ate at a fast-food restaurant first before deciding to go for a walk again. My feet led me to the arcade. It was also a long time ago when I last went to this place. I was so young then and our family was still complete.
Nostalgic. I felt tears dripping from my eyes as I remembered those times. I quickly wiped my cheeks as the people I met gazed at me intently.
I smiled as I entered the glass door but, it also disappeared immediately when the place where I was staying suddenly changed.
"W-why... how..."
