RHEIN'S POINT OF VIEW
I smiled and showed her the phone I was holding. "Xyrille called, Sister. They said we have a group assignment to do. I am going to help them so it would not be difficult for me to catch up on the activities I missed tomorrow. I will also copy their notes."
"Are you really feeling well now? Maybe later, you might suddenly pass out on the road."
I laughed to make her feel better. "Sister, do not worry about me too much. You better worry in finding my future brother-in-law." And I left her with big eyes and red cheeks.
"H-hey!"
I ran outside when she sobered and thought of chasing me. I was lucky, I got away.
I stopped and turned in the direction of our house. I tried to smile and whispered into the air. "Sorry, Sister. I just want you to be safe."
I walked slowly on the side of the road. I still have no idea where I would go next. I did not think about that earlier because I wanted to get away as soon as possible.
It was already dark around so the streetlights turned on one by one. The people I met were very limited. That was not surprising because I was passing through a secluded street.
"Oh my! It is so nice."
"Yes, I agree. Is that the trend now?"
"Wow, she is wearing contact lenses."
"I do not know that there are glow-in-the-dark contact lenses. I will look for some to buy tomorrow."
My eyebrows gradually met in curiosity. Almost everyone I passed by stared at me and whispered.
I bent down and simply mirrored my face at my phone screen. I automatically stopped at the sight – a pair of green eyes. I pressed my eyes closed and stared at them again. Their color still did not return to normal.
The witch entered my mind. She was definitely the one who did it.
This is the beginning, as she said. I need to strengthen my heart and mind, instead of letting the nervousness and fear take over.
I quickly hanged down my bangs and put on the hood of my jacket to hide my eyes. I also walked in a hurry until I reached the bus station.
Many vehicles were passing by on the wide road but not even one bus stopped in front of me. I had been waiting for almost an hour. My voice was a bit hoarse from shouting. I ached from standing up for a long time too.
"Where did my luck go? How unfortunate," I complained to myself.
I turned to the old man who had just arrived. Based on what he was wearing, it could not be denied that he is a rural man. Except for his big sunglasses. I would like to ask why he looked like that but I chose not to. He might get furious.
I stared again at the road and waited. I was not going to look at my fellow passenger anymore but suddenly, he spoke. "You have very beautiful green eyes, Lady," he complimented in a hoarse voice.
My eyes widened in shock but I immediately recovered. I laughed. "My contact lenses are nice, are not they, Old Man? I just bought them new at the mall," I excused myself. He smiled.
"Miss, I know what you really are."
As he took off his glasses and said that, I felt fear. Only now have I seen such eyes face to face. Those were like my eyes shining in the dark. However, his are violet.
The longer I stared at him, I recognized who he is. If earlier I was shocked, now I felt even worse. "H-how..."
He chuckled a little at how I looked. "I understand your confusion but, this is what you must mark in your mind – we are not ordinary humans."
