Chapter 5 - Headache

"Here, sorry...Have some Tylenol." Everest said handing her the pills. "Werewolves can't be real..." Silvia grumbled rubbing her head. "I gotta shift again and check outside. Did you want anything before I go?" He whispered. "Did our dad raise you?" Silvia asked looking over to him. He looked shyly down shaking his head, "Na, she wolves usually raise the pups. Ryder was my dad but I have two other half siblings besides you. I'm almost at age and he had started training me early because he got sick." "Half siblings like me? What happened to him?" Silvia asked. Everest took a deep breath and paused, "Silver poisoning... Not much else kills us..." The boy then shot her a big smile before running out the front door. Silvia slowly got up to get herself something to eat. When she looked outside she saw her puppy with his nose to the ground. What was he checking for? She wondered. She stepped out onto the porch. The sun was creeping higher into the sky, the grass was green, the flowers danced in a breeze, and there was the smell of pine surrounding her. She would have never thought last night was real if her wrist didn't still throb. There was a bandage wrapped tightly around it. Everest must have done it. She drank some more orange juice when she heard the crunching of gravel. A red truck was pulling up the drive. As it came to a stop two big guys got out. One started walking towards her with a smile. He had dark brown hair and piercing green eyes. He wore a collared dress shirt with jeans and boots. She felt her heart jump into her throat. "Hey there miss, I'm Emmett and the brooding one over there is Silas. We're looking for our brother... He's a scrawny kid with dark hair. Seen him around?" He asked. His voice was deep and sent shivers up her spine. Silvia shook her head. "Nope, just me and a puppy I found." Her voice cracked. Her heart was pounding as he chuckled. "Right, well...if you see him tell him he's wanted at home... We live just up the road so, your bound to see him at some point. We knew the previous owner. He was a nice guy. How did you wind up with the place...miss?" He winked. He was fishing for her name. Should she give it to them? They were obviously talking about Everest which ment they were probably his brothers... His werewolf brothers. Silvia's heart pounded harder. "Ms. Clark and I bought the place. It was a great deal...I mean, have you checked the view?" She stammered when his eyes darkened pinning her to her place. The corners to his lips curved up as a slight growl creeped out. He then cleared his throat and looked around with a deep breath. His eyes once again honed in on hers."Ya, it's gorgeous..." He said. The one named Silas pounded on the hood of the truck. He was handsome in an intimidating way. His hair was black and slicked back. He was muscular... Wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses. She couldn't see his eyes but felt them on her all the same. "Thanks anyways...We'll look elsewhere." He yelled nodding to his brother to get back in. Like that they were gone and Silvia breathed a sigh of relief. She wished she had something a little bit stronger than orange juice to drink.
