By the next day, Wang GuiYing got a text from Zhihao, informing him that Li Ling had finished setting everything up. As soon as Wang GuiYing read the message, he picked up his jacket and headed out to the Omelas building once again.
Since Zhihao and Li Ling were also going to be accompanying him, it was expected to see those two waiting for him, but unexpectedly enough, they weren't the only ones.
"What are you two doing here?" Wang GuiYing asked with a frown as he glared at the two youngsters who looked like they were also joining the team.
"We are here to help!~" Li Ying beamed as she confidently put her hand around Huang Zhen's shoulder, "I was the one who gave you the clue so don't you think I should also be there to help you along the way?"
Wang GuiYing couldn't help but feel that both the Li siblings were annoyingly alike. They were both stubborn and only did whatever they wanted to.
"Your brother was going on and on about the risk of entering the game. I can't believe he's actually allowing you two to join as well," Wang GuiYing sighed as he glared at Zhihao.
Zhihao raised his hands as he justified himself, "I tried my best to stop them."
"Trash Gege, we won't drag you down so don't worry. Isn't it more advantageous to have more members in the team?" Huang Zhen showed a bright toothy grin as he asked.
Wang GuiYing cringed as he heard the name 'Trash Gege' and couldn't help but wonder if the boy was respecting him or making fun of him.
"Just call me Trash, no need to add Gege after it," Wang GuiYing shook his head as he spoke.
"Okay, Trash." Huang Zhen was clearly more than ready to oblige.
"..."
"Are we all ready to go?" Li Ling asked as he looked at the small group of players.
Everyone nodded with enthusiasm and Li Ling also nodded with a smile as he lead the group to the transmigration room.
"Last time, we were all wearing headgears to enter the virtual world, but this time, our bodies would be directly entering the game," Li Ling informed during the short walk, "It's a different process so it might not feel as comfortable."
"It's still legal, right?" Wang GuiYing asked out of pure curiosity as he looked at the back of Li Ling's head.
Li Ling chuckled as he heard this, "Don't worry, it's completely legal once you sign the contract."
Wang GuiYing raised his right eyebrow as he heard this and although he didn't completely believe Li Ling's words, he still decided not to question it any further.
"Once we are inside the game, you must all be attentive to your surroundings. Although the risks are pretty damn low, it would still be preferable if you avoided your death in the game."
"I have a question," Li Ying raised her hand as she asked, "Would we be getting the same perks as last time?"
The others couldn't quite understand this question but it seemed that Li Ling knew exactly what his sister was talking about.
"Every item in the game would be reflected in your inventory but you are only allowed to choose your role once so choose carefully."
Li Ying looked to be excited as she heard this and the rest of the members eventually caught on to what the girl was talking about.
In T.I.A.D., Li Ying was one of the beta players who were in the team that was tasked to fix the game from the inside so it was only natural that at the time, she also received the advantages that the other beta players received. The advantages were probably related to unlimited access to items in her inventory and other cheat codes that she was taught.
"I thought you were against cheating," Wang GuiYing mocked with a chuckle.
"It's A-Zhi who's against cheating, not me," Li Ling defended himself.
Zhihao glared at Li Ling as he heard this and Wang GuiYing chuckled.
"Now, since we are all agreeing to do this, I'll need everyone to sign this contract," Li Ling spoke as he gestured with his hand and a staff member handed out a contract to each of the players.
Nobody asked any questions nor did they read the contract carefully as they signed it with just a general idea of what it was going to contain.
"There you go," Wang GuiYing was the first one to sign the contract and hand it back in, "Are we all set now?"
Li Ling looked at the signature on the contract and nodded his head with a smile.
The others also signed the contract and handed it in. As soon as it was done, the staff members left the room and the light suddenly went off, leaving the team shrouded in darkness.
"Is it starting?" It was Li Ying who questioned as she tried to adjust her eyes to the darkness.
"Be prepared for a headache," Li Ling's voice rang through the room, and before anyone could say anything, they suddenly saw a bright blue light coming from the floor.
They were blinded for a few seconds because of the intense bright light and as a result, on instinct, they closed their eyes shut.
What came first was a headache and following it closely behind was a feeling of an upset stomach.
They felt as if the earth beneath them had disappeared and they were floating in mid-air.
There was a light breeze but weirdly enough, the breeze was flowing right through them as if they were not there.
When they opened their eyes, they were in complete darkness once again but this time, it wasn't the room that was dark, it was their eyes that could not perceive the light.
"What the hell...." Li Ying muttered as her eyes widened in shock but she still could not see anything and almost felt as if she had gone blind.
Just when they had started to relax a bit, they felt as if they had been dropped from the sky.
Wang GuiYing gulped and his eyebrows creased together as he tried to see something.
After a few seconds, his vision started clearing up and he could finally see.
However, what he saw, did not bring him any joy.
He saw white... To be more specific, it was white all around because he was currently covered in the clouds. The moisture contained inside the clouds touched his skin and collected to become water droplets.
By the time he was out of the clouds, his clothes were soaking wet and his face was twisted into an ugly expression.
The reason for the ugly expression was probably because of the strong wind that hit his face directly. He was currently falling down and the danger of the situation only started dawning on him slowly.
He opened his mouth to curse Li Ling but before any words could leave his mouth, he heard the man's voice.
"Pull the red string on your backpack!"
It was only now that Wang GuiYing had realized that he was actually wearing a backpack that he hadn't been wearing before.
The backpack was an indication that the transmigration had been completed successfully and they were already inside the game.
The other members pulled on the red string as soon as they heard Li Ling's instructions and it was Wang GuiYing who was last to pull it.
The backpack was actually a parachute and as soon as the red string was pulled, the parachute opened up.
Wang GuiYing felt a strong force suddenly acting against gravity and his face immediately turned white as he felt his morning breakfast coming back up his throat.
Li Ling was clearly not kidding when he said the process wasn't going to be as comfortable as it used to be.
With the help of the open parachutes, the team floated in the air for some time and descended slowly before completely landing on the ground.
Wang GuiYing fell to his knees and immediately gasped for air as he clutched his chest. He felt as if he was almost about to die back there.
"Gege, you ought to fix the process," Li Ying spoke with a frown as she took off the backpack and patted her clothes.
"We need fresh clothes," Zhihao pointed out as he looked at his own soaking wet shirt.
"Alvi," Li Ling called out.
"Yes, Master!~" They heard the voice of a little girl and when they turned to look at where the sound came from, they noticed the girl who hadn't changed much in appearance and was simply sitting on the top branch of a tree.
"Get us some clothes," Li Ling spoke.
Alvi nodded her head as she heard this and suddenly, she took out an entire wardrobe from her pocket.
"You can choose whatever you'd like to," Alvi enthusiastically spoke as she gestured towards the wardrobe.
