By morning, I woke up facing Elliot as he was still sleeping and I stared at him for a long minute before I slowly got up making sure that I didn’t wake him. I quietly made my way to the restroom to use it and afterward went to the kitchen to get something to drink feeling a little dehydrated. I checked the time and it was barely eight so it seems like my mom is still asleep as well. I went back to my room to lay down and I think the movement of the air mattress woke him up.
“Go back to sleep,” I whispered.
“What are you doing?” He mumbled as he closed his eyes.
“I just went to drink some water,” I said as he moved his arms to hold me again.
“Okay.” He said quietly before falling back to sleep.
I watched him having that comfort feeling as he held me before I fell back to sleep and I think I don’t want to let him go today. Not yet.
