Elliot passed us while he continued running and I caught him glancing back at us; I couldn’t wait to tell him. It felt a little silly now to be so nervous about coming out, but after all, that happened, I guess the worrying scars will always be there. I let out a small breath that I must have been holding in and I knew that at some point I also wanted to tell Luis as well but maybe not today.
I turned back to Jennifer, “So you don’t want to go out with Luis?”
I saw her blush. “He seems… interesting.”
“You can’t hide from us. We saw you getting shy around him at the game.” Karen said, nudging at her. “I thought about it as well.”
“Okay, so I am interested in him, but I doubt that he’ll even see me like that.”
“Want me to ask?” I offered.
“Oh no, cause then he’ll feel like he has to ask me out for my feelings or he’ll just straight up and say that he’s not interested in me.” She said.
“But wouldn’t it be better to know?” I ask her.
