Elliot tried to look over as he bent down under the door but I unlocked the door for him before he could try to crawl inside and came over to me to wrap his arms around me. I just rested my head against his chest and tried to calm myself before I said anything else. I took a deep breath as I still felt unwell and my headache from early has gotten a little worse, but it was nice having his arm holding me while I’m trying to collect my thoughts.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me… I don’t know why I’m like this….” I mumbled. “And then to say all that to you…”
Elliot reached out to hold my hand and his other hand reached out to touch my forehead. “You have a fever.”
I stood there quietly; I’m too worn out to care. “I know.”
“You knew and you didn’t say anything?”
“It doesn’t matter right now. I’ve been trying to ignore that all day.”
“All day? Since when have you been feeling sick?” He asks me.
