“Hey, morning,” Elliot said after I got inside his car.
“Morning…” I answered.
“Are you okay?” he asked as he started driving.
“Um, my mom told me last night that she’s going to be gone for the weekend for work…” I tell him.
“Hmm, so you want to wait on me coming over to your dad’s?” he asked.
“I guess so,” I answered.
“You don’t sound too thrilled about going over…” he commented.
“It's not just that… Just the talk from yesterday still kind of bothers me… I don’t really want to go just yet.” I told him as I looked down fidgeting with my fingers trying to distract myself.
“Then don’t. Just stay home,” he tells me.
