I was listening to music while I closed my eyes trying to rest and wondered if I wanted to talk more about it with my mom instead of pushing the conversation away again. I kept trying to avoid it when I knew that it was coming up and I guess I was hoping that ignoring it would be a better solution. And we kept things silent until the next day after coming home from school, I found my mom already home as if waiting for me in the living room and I looked around for a second confused.
“What are you doing here?”
“I think we need to talk,” she said as she pulled a chair for me and she sat down across it.
I sighed as I walked over already knowing what she wanted to talk about. “I said I’ll go with dad. It’s okay.”
“Well, tell me what you want to do?” she asked me. “You haven’t really talked about this since the beginning of the week.”
I looked down, “I’ll do whatever you want me to, Mom. I won’t complain.”
“That’s not what I’m asking,” she said, shaking her head.
