Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Chapter one

I could tell that this guy was hiding a lot of behind that pretty face of his. I kept wondering who the lucky girl was, dating the handsome tall guy I kept seeing in the in Café.

There was this thing about his body structure. He wasn't too masculine, there was a little masculinity in. He was tall, but not as most of the guys, he was a few inches taller than me.

He wore a black and red T- shirt. That was his uniform I guess, it was similar to the rest of the staff that worked in that Café. With skinny trousers that matched his T-shirt.

I liked how active he was. He would clear and clean the tables, serve the customers, take orders from them and walk to the kitchen and back to.

Unlike the other waiters he was patient, and kind to the customers. Some customers would be rude to him but his attitude never changed, he lowered his gaze and continued with his work.

I used to wonder how it would feel like to be his friend. I dint know whether, I had developed a crush on him, or it was part of my imagination. He would stare at me for a very long time. That would give me the wrong idea, or maybe he liked me.

Having to work as a free lancer, I would spend the most of m time at the Café. At twenty-seven working a part time job was not an issue for me, I had a lot of time before I could get a real, full time job were I could be able to retire when I old.

Working from home was the best. I never had to worry about transport fees, or any other work related expenses. However, I had to pay my lunch. That was not something to worry about since, I didn't eat much. I would spend the whole day, after having tea and a sandwich. I would buy a bottle of water later after having tea.

I had started to spend most of the day at the Café, it was better than my apartment were my flat mates would make a lot of noise, which would be disturbing me. I hadn't paid the Wi-Fi bill, since I was the only one using it, but my  flat mates would use it secretly, increasing the bills yet there were refusing to pay for it. Hence I was using the Café's Wi-Fi since it was free. Two of my problems had been solved.

The noisy neighbors, would not bother me, not at all, Mr. Jang's family was the nosiest. His wife was unemployed and would spend her da gossiping with the neighbors, then come back home and her kids would be all over the apartment making playing, crying, singing and shouting, I could not bear all that noise. Above all, their mom would turn on the radio and add on the noise.

I couldn't ask her to turn it off, because I would want to spend two hours in a silly argument, instead of doing my work. Well I would spent the whole day complaining about my  flat mates.

Although she had a bad side, Mrs. Jang was a hardworking and active woman. Ever since I moved in that apartment, I have never cleaned it, I only clean my room. I don't know whether she had to do all cleaning because she was willing to of or she had no choice because her children always made a mess, and only her could clean that. That included the toilet, it was always spotlessly clean because she had to clean it, each time her children used it, they would mess it up.

I had spoke to the manager of the Café to allow me to work from there, so I could avoid all the problems at home. I would be free from my flat mates, now I would be able to concentrate on my work.

I'm glad I got my own fridge now, and a two plate stove. Mixing groceries with my flat mates was the worst thing I had ever done. I had lesser expenses than them, my food was better than theirs and that was not a good thing.

Mr. Jang's kids would steal my fruits from the fridge, and there was nothing I could do than to complain to their parents. Joselyn, would just work up and decides to be crave for my apple juice, walk to the kitchen and take it, and use pregnancy as an excuse, as if I'm the one who got her pregnant.

Sometimes you would wake up late and find out, you out of milk or cereal, when you recently bought it. That annoys me the most. I didn't want to complain to anyone about anything, so I thought it would be netter if lock my own food in my room as I was saving money to move out and rent my own apartment. I wished I had known, that sharing an apartment was the worst thing ever, before I moved to the city.
