"It's just on the right here" you mumbled upon reaching the second floor of your building. Jungkook quietly stood behind you, watching you unlock your apartment door that certainly looked like it should have been replaced a good few years ago. "Breathe, (Y/N). It's just coffee…" you coached yourself – feeling Jungkook's eyes on you as you opened your door quickly and took a step inside.

Unfortunately, it was right then in that moment that Jungkook had become so distracted by you, that he forgot something he should never have forgotten. Humans generally knew nothing about the true nature of Vampires, for they were nothing more than fictional horror stories to get their adrenaline pumping. But one notion that humans did have correct in books and movies was the fact that; a Vampire cannot enter a human's home, without their consent. Conversely, humans also could not enter a Vampires domain without full permission from said Vampire – but that was currently not the predicament Jungkook was facing.

Jungkook quickly cleared his throat, trying to come up with a way to get you to verbally invite him in without looking like a complete and utter fool. You stood up straight after removing your shoes, turning round to him and wondering why on earth he was still outside in the hallway.

"Is everything okay?" you asked slowly, concerned that he had possibly changed his mind upon seeing the interior state of the building.

"…are you sure it's okay for me to come in? I don't want to…impose on you" Jungkook gave you a dishevelled look of desperation that made your head feel fuzzy.

"Of course you're not imposing! Don't worry – its fine!" you replied – but Jungkook needed to hear specific words for the ancient law of trust to allow him to enter your home. "Maybe this is a bad idea, I shouldn't have given her a ride home, what on earth am I doing?"

"Sir, please. I invited you in for coffee – I wouldn't have asked you if I thought you were imposing on me. Please, come inside." You stood back a little to give him room to join you in the small entrance area. Upon hearing the magic words, Jungkook felt the invisible guard around your home drop before him, allowing him to step inside without self-imploding. He knew of the damage an un-welcomed Vampire could cause. Not only would he have essentially taken his own life, but he would have taken you and everyone else in the vicinity with him to the afterlife in the blink of an eye.

"I don't have any slippers big enough for you…I'm sorry" you looked down at his larger feet covered by his black socks.

"Socks are quite alright, don't worry so much, (Y/N)" he gave you a gentleman-like smile after closing your door behind him – noticing that the chain put there for your safety was practically hanging by a thread.

"Alright well, please make yourself at home! Oh – and by the way…" you trailed off as you walked into your main living space, seeing Mugsy perched on the windowpane and glaring at you like he usually did with his blackened eyes. "My cat, Mugsy…he kind of, doesn't do well with people – me included. He might be a little…" you tightened your bottom lip, grimacing at Jungkook who was now standing right beside you, taking in your entire home.

"It's fine, I have an excellent lawyer. If Mugsy commits any grievous bodily harm to me, you'll get a letter in the post" Jungkook looked at you sternly, before replacing his cold features with an angelic smile that seemed to make the lights in your apartment shine brighter. You scoffed, chuckling to yourself while you thought, "Wow, so he DOES have a sense of humour? A warped one at that…"

Jungkook nodded at you while he made his way across your small living room before taking a seat right in the middle of your sofa. You couldn't help but feel like he was scrutinizing and analysing every single aspect of your life now – as everything you had to your name was laid out in front of him. From the books on their shelves, to the patterned rug your grandmother gave you as a housewarming gift, Jungkook was able to gauge just what type of life you lead. Seeing him sit in your humble home felt both wrong and right. On one hand, he was like a piece of fine art that should be treasured in a prestigious museum - not a run down apartment block. But on the other hand, seeing him before you in your own home warmed your heart and made your insides feel fuzzy.

"I'll…I'll just go and put the kettle on then" you finally spoke up after what seemed like a second too long. Jungkook looked over to you and smiled, watching you turn around as you began preparing the coffee. While you did, Jungkook found himself scanning his entire surroundings. There was absolutely no doubt that this was your home, for all he could smell was heaven; you. Every single thing around him gave off your natural aroma that intoxicated him so hellishly. Although it was small, he appreciated that your apartment was laid out practically, and it felt like a real home, which was important to him. Not only did it feel like a home, but Jungkook had never experienced the feeling of cosiness and comfort like he did since he walked through your door. For the first time ever, Jungkook felt his body relax, thinking about how he had never experienced this type of contentment – even in his own manor. However, he seemed to be giving most of his attention to a few of the pictures you had perched on the very small coffee table in front of him.

"Are these your grandparents you spoke of in the car?" Jungkook picked one of the photo-frames up and studied it, clearly being able to identify you as a six or seven year old girl. He smiled, appreciating how you had grown from a small, cute, innocent child into a beautiful, mature – and possibly even more innocent young woman. Beside you in the picture were three others, two of which he assumed were your grandparents; and the third was an even younger child. A boy.

"Hmm?" you turned around to see him observing the picture. "Ah, that's my parents actually" you smiled thinly before turning back round to pour the boiling water in the cups. Jungkook scrunched his eyebrows together ever-so-slightly, wondering why you had never mentioned your parents and only your grandparents.

"My mother and father…they passed away when I was seven years old. The boy in that picture, he's my younger brother. My grandparents kind of adopted us after it happened" you spoke facing away from him. It still stung when you had to speak of your parents, but you knew that Jungkook was the type of man never to pry when he was given an adequate amount of believable information. However, Jungkook could sense the sadness practically dripping from your words; letting him know not to press the issue further as the last thing he wanted was to upset you. He knew from the way you spoke, that this was a very raw memory; one that you had buried deep within your heart.

"I see…well, I'm very sorry to hear about your parents but, it seems like you have a good relationship with your grandparents nonetheless." He hoped with all his being that he was able to be as soft and indirect with you as possible. Jungkook had never been in a situation that he found himself feeling genuinely sorry for anyone. But he felt it for you. Pain, loss, suffering and heartache were exotic things to Jungkook, but he felt all of those things through you in that moment. Jungkook had seen many souls come and go over the past 400 years, but he was never able to truly understand the emptiness a human could feel from the loss of a loved one. However, it was like he could understand how you felt without the need for you to verbalise it directly - another thing he had never experienced before. No sooner had Jungkook gently placed the frame back on the table, he caught Mugsy out of the corner of his eye – walking towards him, before slowly sitting down at his feet. Jungkook tilted his head slightly at the cat, seeing him blink softly at him in turn.

"I knew there was something odd about you, Vampire. Now…what's one of your kind doing here, your Highness?"

Jungkook looked up from Mugsy's eyes to observe you, still with your back to him and stirring the coffee on the worktop.

"Are you, by any chance, here to harm my human, Sir?"

Jungkook slowly shifted his gaze back to Mugsy – offering him a slow blink in return as a sign of peace and friendship. Another one of the Jeon's many Vampiric abilities was the gift of communication with sentient beings. A form of telepathy – no words could ever be spoken. In other words, it was a mutual understanding between animal, and Vampire. With their basic instincts, animals could easily identify Vampires, and Mugsy knew that Jungkook was no normal Vampire.

"You have nothing to fear, feline. Your human is…special to me. I would never harm her; I give you my word as my bond." Jungkook replied in the form of a smile.

"Here we go – oh…my god…" you turned around with the two cups of coffee in your hands to receive the shock of your life, looking at Mugsy sitting in between Jungkook's legs, rubbing his head against the leg of his trousers…and purring.

"He…he's purring! What – what did you do to him?!" you almost screeched as you approached them both. Jungkook looked up at you, widening his eyes and being in delighted shock to see this childlike, excited side of you – in comparison to your air of professionalism he witnessed on a daily basis.

"I…I suppose I just have a way with animals. It's been like this since I was a young boy" he smirked to himself as he reached down and gently tickled underneath Mugsy's chin. Your mouth hit the floor from Mugsy's docile reaction – almost as if Jungkook was a damn cat whisperer. You knew that whenever you tried to give Mugsy the same affection, you risked losing your entire arm.

"I…I can't believe this.." you chuckled while sitting the cups down on the coffee table and taking a seat at the edge of your sofa, just watching how gentle and affectionate Jungkook could be as he continued to stroke and play with Mugsy; who looked like he had entered a certain type of cat heaven with the way he was now on his back and letting Jungkook trail his fingers along his stomach.

"Maybe he'll let you be more close to him in the future. How about it Mugsy? Will you let (Y/N) love you?" you watched in awe at Jungkook, who had seemed to have dropped all of his defences while being in the comfort of your home. You couldn't tear yourself away from the soft look in his eyes, his gentle smile and his endearing words while he looked from Mugsy to you. You never would have thought a hard-ass business man like Jungkook could have a tender side. And to witness it, was nothing short of magical.

"Thank you for the coffee, (Y/N). Please, drink yours too. You need to warm up after being in the rain" Jungkook reached forward and took the two cups in his hand, giving you yours before taking a sip of his own. Putting the cup to your lips, you felt yourself relaxing around him for the very first time ever – as if a warming glow was radiating between the both of you.

"Can I ask you something personal, (Y/N)?"

"Y-yes? What is it?" you stuttered at Jungkook's desire to know such things about you, wondering just what it was that had him feeling curious.

"Do you like being my personal assistant?"

You blinked several times, donning a nervous smile as you cupped your fingers around the warmth of the ceramic in your hands. Jungkook knew you were thinking about what to say from the shift in your pulse, making him inwardly smile at the obvious affect he knew he had on you.

"Well, yes? I mean, I would rather be a rich billionaire and live out the rest of my days without having to work every day but, yes – I suppose I do enjoy being your personal assistant. The atmosphere is professional and…the money is good" you let out a rather nervous, shy giggle. "Why do you ask, Sir?"

Jungkook inhaled sharply, not expecting you to question his motives for his curiosity – all while finding it incredibly softening that even now in your own home, you still referred to him as Sir. He had often wondered what it would sound like to hear his given name fall from your lips. However, he knew that was not the type of relationship you both shared – not yet anyway.

"It may surprise you to know, but I sometimes hear what the other women in the office say about me when they think I'm not there" he paused, watching your reaction while hearing your heart beat a little quicker, "I guess I was wondering, if you think the same way? Am I…scary to you? Do you think I'm too cold?"

Jungkook never took his eyes off you as he seemed to trap you in his gaze. You wanted to look away and lie to him – tell him that you had never felt those things about him. But for some reason – you also wanted to tell him the truth, especially after what happened on Friday night.

"If I'm being honest, Sir…sometimes, yes. You can be a little cold towards people but…I don't see that as a bad thing. I think that sometimes in life, you have to be reserved. Especially since you are the CEO of your own company…you can't leave yourself wide open to be freely walked over. But, I don't find you scary…actually, it takes a lot to scare me" you waffled on aimlessly. "But I think you're capable of being warm. You just…have to find the right person to be warm with." Jungkook found himself taken aback by your response. He had assumed that you would cover up your true feelings and lie to him like most other humans did, but you spoke from your heart; and Jungkook had never felt so understood in his entire life on earth. "The right person to be warm with…are you that person, (Y/N)?"

You ceased your nervous babbling the moment you observed the change in Jungkook's eyes. It was almost like he was inviting you to inch further into him with the way he was looking at you. You couldn't help but trail your eyes down to his soft lips – knowing that they tasted of the sweet coffee you made for him. Time seemed to stand still for Jungkook as he saw you glancing at his mouth, wishing you would just hurry up and close the gap between your bodies. He wanted you so desperately, but he wanted you to be the one to make the advance – just to be sure it was what you truly desired.

"Should I…" you thought, feeling yourself almost being pulled towards him by a compelling magnetic force that you just couldn't resist. You wanted to feel his lips on yours once more – and you wanted so much more of him in every single way possible. It was madness, but it was a type of madness that you craved and desired so much, that you felt your body lean in towards his. Jungkook could feel your weight on the sofa shifting as you leaned in closer. He positioned himself slowly, more openly to welcome you into his being – practically able to reach out and envelop you into his embrace to be surrounded and engulfed by your heavenly aroma.

Jungkook could have screamed at the top of his lungs in that moment as his phone began ringing rather loudly in his pocket, causing you to almost jump out of your skin as you moved back against the arm of the sofa. You began tucking your hair behind your ear and feeling your cheeks on fire as Jungkook took his phone out apologetically.

"I'm sorry…just a moment" he cursed whoever was ringing him as he physically had to pull himself away from you and your addicting presence. He stood up, before walking to the other end of your apartment to answer his phone while you fanned yourself with your hands; feeling a series of hot flushes roll over your skin.

Jungkook looked down at his phone, seeing the last name he ever wanted to see calling him outside of work hours, for he knew it could only mean trouble.

"Yes?" he answered, keeping his voice low so you wouldn't hear too much of what he may possibly have to say.

"My Prince? It's Gabriel….where are you right now?" a worried voice on the line greeted him.

"I'm…currently with someone. Why?" Jungkook knew that you couldn't hear him properly – but he was careful nonetheless.

"You need to come to the Montgomery Mansion immediately…we…we have a very serious problem and we didn't know who else to call."

You kept your head in the other direction out of respect for Jungkooks right to his own privacy. "It can't be anything to do with work at this hour…" you looked up at your clock, seeing that it was almost 9:30pm. As you watched Mugsy curling up on the floor where Jungkook's feet had previously been, you heard Jungkook end the phone call. You turned around with a smile on your face, only to observe a slight look of distress plastered all over Jungkook's features as he looked at you with such defeat in his eyes.

"(Y/N)…I have to go. I'm really sorry about this" he blinked several times, the feeling of you just about to kiss him being completely burned into the back of his mind as he began putting on his shoes quickly. You stood up, walking over to him in a concerned manner.

"No, don't be sorry – I completely understand. Is…is it work?" you asked, worried that something was happening that Jungkook had no control over…little did you know, you weren't far off the money.

"It's…it's personal. I'm so sorry but, I can't really talk about it" he straightened himself up, looking into your eyes that were filled with what he assumed was worry, disappointment and embarrassment. "Personal? What kind of personal thing?" you thought, knowing that Jungkook would never answer your questions, even if you were to ask him.

"Look…I really, really wish that I didn't have to leave you. Can – can we possibly…do this another time? I'd like to…continue where we left off..sooner, rather than later." Jungkook bravely raised his hand to gently brush the skin of your forearm – feeling the heat of your spell bounding touch enter him and fill him with small jolts of electricity that he had been craving ever since you touched him on Friday night. This type of action normally would have shocked you, but you thought nothing of it as the surprise came from his words instead.

"Oh…of course we can. Don't worry about the coffee, I can always make more for us another night. Just, go and take care of whatever is happening. I hope everything is okay.." you mumbled, wondering what personal matter caused him to react in such a way. "Maybe he's just saying this to let me down gently…" you thought, but such thoughts were eliminated once you felt Jungkook grip on to your arm. It wasn't a grip of hate or irritation – rather, it was one of desperation. A grip of genuine loneliness, as if he wished with all his heart he could share his burdens with you. Little did you know, some of those burdens; he would rather keep you as far away from them as possible

"I'll see you tomorrow at work, okay? Sleep well (Y/N) – and make sure your door is locked when I leave…okay?" Jungkook thought of your own safety, suddenly hating the fact that he was leaving you all alone with no one but Mugsy for company while he was forced to attend to other matters.

"I will – go on! And drive safe, won't you?" you said quickly as Jungkook opened your front door, before nodding at you politely and disappearing down the stairwell – leaving you to close the door…alone once again.

Jungkook briskly walked out of the building towards his car, unlocking it from a distance before opening the door and jumping inside. As he put the keys in the ignition and placed his phone on his hands-free dock, he closed his eyes and let out a long sigh. For a couple of seconds, he sat in silence while recalling Gabriel's words to him over the phone, before he revved his BMW up so viciously, and began speeding off in the direction of the Montgomery Mansion.

"It's my eldest son…Yoongi…he's escaped somehow…and…

…Jungkook, he's thirsty."
