"I can't believe I'm seriously going along with this…" you thought as you sat next to Jungkook in the passenger's seat of his BMW. The shock from being told that you were both going out 'shopping' hadn't even fully set in yet – rather, you were still processing the fact that you were essentially going to be Jungkook's date for a high-class social event; the fundraising ball.

Since you had only been working as Jungkook's P.A for the past 8 months, you didn't have any firsthand experience with the ball itself. However, from conducting your own research, you quickly found out that – not only was it a glamorous evening filled with great food and drink – it was also an event set to raise money for different medical companies and research around the world. The biggest one being the Jeon Corporation, of course. CEOs and representatives from their respective companies would be there – donating their money for 'the greater good'. Which, in theory seemed lovely to you, however, you couldn't help but feel intimidated.

"So…" you began, breaking the silence in the car as Jungkook gently shifted gears, "What kind of dress are we looking for?" you asked, thinking to yourself how strange this all was to you. Never in your life had anyone, let alone a man, taken you out to help you buy any kind of clothing.

Jungkook's lips curled into a wry smile as he took a left turn on to what would be considered as the 'high-end' of town. "Any type of dress you wish, (Y/N). It just has to be evening attire – fit for a ball of course" his voice was soft, his tone extremely warm. Just like you, Jungkook had never offered to willingly spend his money on anyone, let alone a human woman. He knew that you wouldn't let him pay for anything without a damn good fight – but ultimately, that's what he admired about you the most. You were quite independent, but being in your presence – especially now, filled Jungkook with a certain type of teenage giddiness that he both loved and loathed. "How can she render me so tender inside?"

"But, why are we on this street? Just what shop are we going to, Sir?" you spied many designer brand names plastered across shops as you drove down the street. "I know a much cheaper place on the south side of town that does those kinds of dresses" you heard your own embarrassment in your voice, thinking "I could buy those kinds of dresses for a fraction of the price I would pay for one here…"

"I frequent this place often. It's not so expensive – I think you might have heard of it before?" there was a playfulness to Jungkook's voice as he pulled up outside a store painted all in white – it's lettering for its brand name in classic black.

You looked out the window, shell-shocked and wishing with all your heart that Jungkook was playing an awful joke on you. "Chanel? Chanel?!" you felt your heart hit the bottom of your stomach. "Sir! No – I can't go in there. Don't…don't you think that –"

"(Y/N)" Jungkook pulled up the hand-break before removing his seatbelt and slightly angling his body to get a better look at you. "The store isn't to your tastes?" he decided to tease you. However much of a gentleman Jungkook always tried to be, he couldn't deny how absolutely beautiful he found you when you got flustered in front of him.

You swallowed hard, thinking to yourself "I couldn't afford a handkerchief from Chanel, let alone a damn dress!" before deciding it would probably be best not to say that in front of your boss. "Sir, do you mind if we try somewhere else? I'm…I'm sure that the clothes in there are lovely…but I think this is a bit out of my league…and budget" you let your eyes fall to your hands sitting delicately on your lap. Jungkook softened his features as he looked at you, knowing full well that he had every single intention of gifting everything he could to you.

"We're not compelled to buy. We can just go in and have a look to get an idea – if that's okay with you?" he moved his head a little closer to yours, his eyes lingering on all your small, subtle movements from being in close proximity with him. Jungkook knew that you felt embarrassed about not having enough money to indulge in designer clothing. But, just like in many old romance novels and movies he had seen in his lifetime, he wanted to finally play the role of the many protagonists he envied. He wanted so badly to treat the person he loved like a princess, but he knew that you were no picnic when it came to charity being sprung on you.

Listening to his words, you were still against the idea of even setting foot inside the store. But upon looking up to meet his eyes, you felt compelled to walk in there, side-by-side with him. "How lovely would it be to, just one day, pretend to be someone I'm not? Jungkook is with me…what I'm I so afraid of?"

Still sensing your indifference, Jungkook spoke up – yet again, donning a playful, teasing tone that always shook you to your core. "Don't tell me that I'll have to lift you out of this car and carry you in there myself? Would you prefer that, (Y/N)?" his eyes sparkled with deviance as you felt your cheeks start to glow at the thought of him doing something so bold. You returned a look of defeat, letting a small, frustrated sigh escape your lips before whipping your seatbelt off and stepping out of the car. Jungkook chuckled to himself, knowing that he won the debate – but upon hearing you slam the door of his very expensive pride and joy; he cringed at the sound.

"Okay (Y/N), everything's fine. Don't worry – it's just a store…" you coached yourself as you heard Jungkook get out of the car and lock it behind him. "You're in your nice office-clothes…you're a high-class lady! Hold your tummy in…shoulders back…" you continued to panic. Jungkook could practically dance and skip along to the sound of your heartbeat at this stage. "You're not (Y/N)…you're Beyoncé today, okay? Beyoncé wouldn't be terrified to walk into Chanel, right…?" you began channelling your inner goddess before you felt Jungkook's gentle touch on the back of your shoulders, springing you straight out of your thoughts at a thousand miles an hour.

"It's okay, there's no need to be nervous or scared" he whispered gently into your ear, sending waves of shivers along your body as his warm breath hit your skin. "I'll be –"

Once again, Jungkook had been cut off by his cursed phone ringing rather loudly in his pocket. Both of you flashed a look of somewhat annoyance between each other, before Jungkook pulled his phone out to see, just like last time, Gabriel Montgomery calling him.

"(Y/N)…I have to take this. Will you be okay for a few moments without me?" he hesitated, seeing nervousness and doubt spread across your face as you thought about how well you would fare in the lion's den by yourself.

You straightened yourself up, swallowing back any fear and spoke without a quiver in your voice. "I'll be okay, I'll look around while I wait for you" you replied, giving him a sure smile – but Jungkook could still sense your vitals that were though the roof. However, he knew that Gabriel wouldn't have a reason to call unless it was important. "I can do this, I'm just looking, right? No harm in looking.." you thought, before seeing Jungkook nod reassuringly at you while simultaneously giving you a quick smile.

You turned to walk inside, hearing Jungkook answer the phone quickly as he strode back towards his car. "I'm a big girl, I can handle this myself – I don't need anyone to walk me in and hold my hand for me" you reassured yourself one final time, before pressing your weight on the door to enter the shop.

Immediately, you were engulfed by the pleasant heat of the beautiful, pristine boutique laid out in front of you. You couldn't help but become mesmerised by its atmosphere – from the white ceiling, to the white marble floor and the white walls lined with symmetric black panels that held some of the most fabulous looking garments you had ever seen in your entire life. The shop looked rather small from the outside – but the inside was impressively large and neatly laid out. As your feet brought you forward, pushing you in the direction of where your eyes spied several floor length dresses, you noticed a few other women dressed very similarly to you – browsing through the stores collection as well. At the back of the shop, you could see two members of staff standing by the cash register, both of whom were smiling at you as you returned their polite greetings. Although you could feel tiny beads of sweat forming on your temples, the kind atmosphere seemed to suddenly relax you.

"I got all worked up for nothing…this isn't so bad~" you thought, becoming more calm by the second. On the same note, Jungkook who was now sitting inside his car and discussing Yoongi's still unknown whereabouts with his father, noted that your heartbeat had began to return to its normal pace. "Maybe she felt pressured because I was going in with her? I've read that some women prefer to shop by themselves…maybe (Y/N) is like this?" he smiled to himself, before devoting his full and undivided attention to Gabriel's words.

As you approached four single standing dresses placed on mannequins, you let your fingers brush against one in particular – feeling the beautiful, rich, high-quality fabric underneath them. It was so gorgeous, it proved to almost take your breath away. And – it was in a perfect colour, red.

"I wonder if Jungkook would think this looks good on me?" you thought, smiling to yourself as you envisioned it on your body. Another thing that you noticed was the staff in the Chanel store didn't seem to be overbearing like staff were in 'cheaper' stores – not one of them coming up to you and asking "Are you alright? Did you need something?" and following you around like a hawk in fear you would possibly try to steal something. As you continued grinning to yourself, you let your hand trail down to the small envelope carefully placed on the table beside the dress, which you presumed would entail the price. You opened it very gingerly, taking a peek inside to see a rather large, four digit number.

"…is that the serial number? Surely that can't be the price…!" you panicked, before setting it down and going to the next dress and examining its envelop – only to see and even greater number written down with the money symbol before the digits. "This is my whole year's rent…who would pay this much for ONE dress?!" you screamed internally, feeling yourself sweating all over again. By this stage, you had made you way up towards the cash register – the two members of staff watching a more than perplexed look making itself at home on your face.

"Excuse me Miss – I see you're interested in this season's line! Was there something in particular you would like to try on?" her voice was kind and genuinely caring as she smiled into your face.

"Ah – yes, uhm…" you trailed off, your voice almost cracking due to your throat now as dry as sandpaper.

"Would you like some refreshments whilst you browse Miss? Some champagne? Perhaps a coffee?" she offered, to which you smiled and politely shook your head back at her. "Woah…she's so glamorous…and kind too" you thought, feeling your body relax once again from her gentle approach to you and how beautiful and feminine she looked in her pale Chanel skirt and work shirt.

"You said this was this season's range?" you asked, thinking that's probably the reason why it's so expensive. "May I have a look at last season's range? Or, a discounted range?"

In that moment, you could have heard a pin drop with the silence that took place in the store. Every single woman had just heard your request of a 'discount' range, causing them to turn their heads at you in shock – but soon, the shock turned into humiliation for you as the member of staff who had been so friendly and caring towards you let out a sharp snigger through her nose.

"I'm sorry, a discount range? In Chanel? Are you sure you're in the right store?" she leered at you, looking you up and down as if you were a piece of dirt that someone had taken in off the street. Subsequently, you could feel the stares of everyone on you as they seemed to do the same – before you heard whispered giggles from every direction.

"If you're looking for discount, perhaps you should visit the south side of town? I believe that would be much more suited to you dear. What do they call them? Bargain basements?" her tone was clipped, sharp; and it hurt. A lot.

You had never been so embarrassed and humiliated in your entire life as you were standing right before her. As she continued to make you feel about one centimetre in height, you could feel your face burning hotter than the surface of the sun, as tears began to sting the corner of your eyes.

"I-I'm sorry" was all you could muster in a tiny voice, before you turned on your heel and quickly exited the shop in the form of sprinting towards the door and just wanting to get as far away from them as possible. Even bursting out the door, you could hear the high-pitched laughter and giggles from inside that stung you so badly, all you could do was burst into tears.

After rushing outside, all your senses failed you as you tried to find Jungkook – but all you could see was his car. Without thinking, you made your way around the back of the car, pressing your hands on top of the trunk as you let tears roll down your face. No one had ever spoken to you in the way you had just witnessed. You couldn't help but remember the nasty scowl on the woman's face as she humiliated you beyond belief while telling you to go to the 'south' side of town. "That's the part of town where I live…does she really think that about people like me?" was all you could think. You knew that you didn't come from money and you were always fine with your social standing in the world. But when it came to wanting to be by Jungkook's side in his world…you began to feel like maybe you truly weren't good enough for him after all.

Inside the car, Jungkook continued to listen to Gabriel's worries about his eldest son, when out of the corner of his eye, he saw you hunched over the back of his car through the reflection in his wing mirror.

"Gabriel, I'll have to call you back, I'm sorry" he spoke quickly, before ending the call and hurling himself out of the car faster than he had ever done so before. He internally scolded himself for being so engrossed with his call that he didn't even sense you coming towards him – especially now that he could see you practically in floods of tears. Without even thinking, he grabbed you by both of your shoulders, spinning you around on the spot to face him.

"(Y/N) what's wrong? What happened? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?" you could hear the desperate concern in his voice, but you were just so upset that you couldn't even begin to answer him. All you could do was cry into his chest, feeling his arms circle around you and pulling you close into him while your shoulders heaved with each silent cry that fell from your lips. "I only left her for a few minutes, what on earth could have happened?" he thought, blaming himself entirely as he began to lovingly rub your back in an attempt to calm you down. As your breathing became steadier, you heard his nearly silent humming and hushes in your ear – yet all you wanted was for him to bring you home. At this point, you didn't even want to go to the ball anymore; thinking that it was probably going to be filled with people such as the woman in the shop. Jungkook knew that something had happened to cause you so much distress, and he wasn't about to drop it and let it go.

After a few moments of continued sobbing, you finally caught your breath – feeling completely overwhelmed and emotional due to so much happening in one day. "First I get shoved against a wall, next – my boss takes me shopping…and now this…could my day possibly get any worse?"

"Sorry…I ruined your shirt" you stood back a little with Jungkook's hands still firmly placed on the small of your back. Jungkook looked down to his chest to see little wet marks where your eyes had been, before looking back up to your face and gazing straight into your eyes.

"Forget the damn shirt, what happened (Y/N)?" concern dripped from Jungkook's voice as he searched your eyes for understanding of the situation.

"Nothing, it's fine – can you just take me home?" you avoided eye-contact with him, not wanting to receive any form of pity from him whatsoever. Jungkook's throat produced an exasperated sigh as he moved his hands gently from your back to your shoulders, leaning closer in to you and not caring if anyone were to witness both of you caught in an intimate moment. You felt your face heat up even more with Jungkook's unwavering stare on you, as if he were embedding your features in his mind to replay over and over again in the future.

"(Y/N), please tell me what happened? I… should have been in there with you. And this happened because of me. I – I want to try and make you…feel better? You can tell me anything, you know that, right?" Jungkook could hardly believe the words that escaped him, but he meant every single one of them. Averting your eyes to the ground, you sighed and proceeded to tell him everything that happened from start to finish – the woman making a complete fool out of you and you being stupid enough to ask for a discounted range; all of which had Jungkook feeling a certain type of petty anger that bubbled from within him. He knew that humans could be extremely fickle and snobby when it came to social standings and money, but he never would have expected it to happen to someone who he felt so strongly for. Just like with the incident involving Mr. Brown, he wanted to always be by your side to fight your battles with you; big and small.

As you continued to wallow in self-pity, you felt Jungkook's hand suddenly take yours. You barely had time to widen your eyes in shock before he was practically dragging you back into the store.

"Sir, no! Please I don't want to go back in there! She's already made a fool of me I don't want to have to go through it a second time" you begged him, but Jungkook showed no signs of stopping.

"She won't humiliate you a second time, I can promise you that." His tone was cold and unforgiving as he barged through the door. His grip on your hand was so tight that you were sure he had cut off all the blood circulation in it as you tried your best to hide and cower behind him. Just as Jungkook had expected, the two staff at the register saw him immediately – both of them practically rushing over to greet him with huge smiles plastered on their faces.

"Hello Mr. Jeon! How are you today Sir?" the first one approached him earnestly.

"How nice to see you again Mr. Jeon! Have you come to collect the suit you ordered?" the woman who had humiliated you to the moon and back smiled at him as she greeted him. However, seeing as you were practically crouched down behind Jungkook's height, neither of them even noticed your presence.

"Hello ladies." Jungkook's voice was flat, unemotional and assertive. "Actually, I won't be picking up my suit today – nor will I be making any future orders with Chanel. I am here today to cancel my personal contract and all outstanding orders." He smiled rather condescendingly as both of their mouths seemed to simultaneously hit the floor in complete confusion. When you described what happened in the shop earlier, you had given a vague description of the women who had been so rude to you, and Jungkook knew immediately from her auburn hair that she was the one who he would be addressing.

"I'm sorry – may I know your name?" Jungkook looked to her with you still hiding behind him.

"Ah – yes, uhm – my name is Natalia" she stuttered in response, obviously in shock at Jungkook's words as he had been a long standing, valued customer of that particular Chanel store. "Mr. Jeon, was there a problem with your last suit? If there was, we can fix it immediately…there's no need to go to such lengths seeing as –"

"My problem doesn't lie with the many suits that I have purchased here in the past. My problem lies with you, Natalia." He cut her off sharply as he pulled you forward to stand beside him. Not expecting it, you very nearly tripped over your own feet as you were brought face to face with her once again – only this time, Jungkook had his arm linked with yours.

"My fiancé came out to me in floods of tears due to the way in which you spoke to her – telling her to go to the south side of town to make her purchases. Not only have you offended my fiancé, you have offended me as well. So, I would like you to take my name off the register – effective immediately. And I will be contacting your store manager – and I will be giving your name as the reason why I am taking these measures."

Both you and the two shop assistants stood completely dumbfounded – you more so as the word 'fiancé' circled your brain. "Fiance? What?!" you screamed to yourself, looking up to Jungkook as his arm snaked his way around your waist, pulling you right into his hip and making both of you look like a believable couple to the women in front of you.

After countless attempts from Natalia trying to profusely apologise to both you and Jungkook, you ended up walking out of the Chanel store with his arm still firmly latched around you – without a dress, needless to say. You began feeling even worse than before due to the whole situation, which Jungkook immediately picked up on the moment you both got into the car.

"(Y/N), I am so incredibly sorry you had to go through that. This is completely my fault…I should never have made you go in there in the first place" his voice went quiet as the two of you sat motionless next to each other inside his car.

"It's not your fault…it's mine. Just…can we just get out of here? I don't care where we go. I just don't want to be here anymore" you looked over to him, almost pleading with your eyes that made Jungkook's heart clench within him. To say he felt terrible for putting you through this would have been a complete understatement. As he sat beside you, looking at you nervously playing with your fingers in your lap – out of nowhere, an idea popped into his head.

"Before I take you home, I'd like to take you to another shop – but don't worry…I think you'll really like the owner…and I'll be with you the entire time…" he trailed off, noticing your lack of reaction as you began staring out the window in the opposite direction of the Chanel store.

You didn't know whether you wanted to just go along with Jungkook, or just get him to leave you home so you could get into your pyjama's and cry over a tub of ice cream. But you knew that you did still have to get a dress. "Fine~" was all you replied, before Jungkook smiled to himself and put the car into gear.

About thirty minutes later, you were both well outside the town – almost border-line countryside at this stage as you noticed the green fields and dainty houses along the roadside that gave you a very nostalgic feeling of being young and living with your grandparents.

"We're here" Jungkook spoke up softly, making a left turn into a driveway that contained the most beautiful looking cottage you had ever seen. You found yourself being in absolute awe at the neatly arranged flowerpots that were lined perfectly around the cottage – giving the whole scene a very feminine and gentle feel to it.

"This is a shop?" you asked as he pulled up the handbrake.

"It's more a boutique actually" he gave you a small chuckle as both of you got out of the car. You couldn't help but be mesmerised by how much detail that went in to making the cottage look like something straight out of a fairytale.

"Shall we?" Jungkook motioned for you to walk beside him as he smiled at you. While walking the distance to the front door, you couldn't help but think back to how Jungkook called you his fiancé in the shop – shamelessly grinning to yourself at that thought.

"Why did you call me your fiancé by the way?" you asked as Jungkook extended his hand to ring the doorbell.

"Would you have preferred me to call you my wife?" he gave you a playful side look, loving the fact that your cheeks were blushing the most beautiful shade of pink he had ever seen. As you gave him a wry look in response, the door suddenly flung itself open – revealing an incredibly handsome looking man similar in height to Jungkook, his hair slightly lighter with a huge smile on his face.

"Oh my goodness! If it isn't my baby cousin Jungkook – how are you dear?" he asked in a rather loud, eccentric voice that almost made you jump out of your skin as Jungkook smiled back at him before replying;

"It's nice to see you too, Taehyung."
