Your whole body felt as light as a feather, yet stiff as a board. You could hear your heartbeat as it deafened you, along with being able to feel Jungkook's prominent heartbeat as it hammered through his chest into yours. You were sure all of your blood had rushed to your head in that moment, that if it weren't for Jungkook's tight embrace around you; you would fall to the ground on your knees.

Jungkook could feel an overwhelming sense of passion and fire burn inside him. So much so, that he was one hundred percent sure that his skin was ablaze. He had never felt this type of heat or warmth before. But as his hands spread across your back while he nuzzled his face into your hair to get a glorious whiff of your intoxicating aroma, he found himself being in an absolute state of bliss – but there was one thing missing.

"(Y/N)…hold me" he whispered lowly into your ear, his voice deep and gentle mixed with a hint of desperation for you to return his touch. "Oh god.."  you thought to yourself, so many emotions sweeping through you and causing your entire body to quiver in his grasp. Just moments ago, you were hell-bent on the idea that Jungkook was about to tear strips off you for what had just happened with Mr. Brown…but how wrong you were. Letting a small sigh escape you, you very slowly wrapped your arms around Jungkook, feeling every fibre of his detailed work-shirt over his back as you let your hands glide up towards his shoulder blades. Jungkook couldn't help the sigh that his throat produced at the feeling of you holding him as he shut his eyes tight, savouring this gentle, warm and intimate moment with you.

"Jungkook I – I was so scared" you almost cried into his chest, completely unaware that for the first time ever, you spoke his first name without the use of 'Sir'. Jungkook noticed immediately the way his given name sounded coming from your lips – and it filled him with such a rush of contentment that he was sure he was about to explode.

"Shh, it's okay (Y/N). You're safe now, I've got you – there's no need to be afeared any longer." he whispered softly, feeling your body pressing up against his even more as you tightly gripped on to him. For a moment, he almost lost himself. For a moment, he thought about how much he wanted to let his sensual desire for you take over – but he realised that this was not an appropriate time to let his own needs take over the situation. Jungkook desired you in every way possible, but he also felt an overwhelming need to protect you from the dangers you weren't aware of. And he was certainly no fool to not have considered that he was one of those dangers, too. Even now as he could hear your heart thundering in your chest that was pushing your blood to every corner of your body, he wanted to put you under his wing – he wanted to shield you from any harm that could come to a human in their lifetime.

Jungkook was the first to break the embrace, standing back slightly with his hands clasped around your shoulders as he looked down into your eyes. You could clearly see the worry in his gaze, the apparent fear of the unknown about what could have happened to you.

"Where is he now?" your voice shook as you took a step back, feeling fuzzy and lightheaded. Jungkook's arms around you had you feeling like you and just consumed an entire bottle of wine all to yourself – and of course, he felt it too – despite the fact that Vampires could never get drunk.

"I suspect that by now, Mr. Brown is angrily carrying his possessions out in a few company-provided cardboard boxes and making his way to his car…" Jungkook gave you a wistful smile as he knew fine rightly that Mr. Brown was doing exactly that – for he could sense him easily from where he was standing. You looked back up to him in shock and confusion, widening your eyes before speaking once more.

"What? Why? What happened?" you asked as Jungkook ceased his smiling, his eyes burning into yours with a serious look on his face as he tilted your chin upwards with 2 of his elegant fingers.

"Rest assured, (Y/N) – he will never be able to find work in this world again, and he will never cross paths with you again…I will make sure of that. Are you okay?" Jungkook only now realising the amount of shock you must have been in. "Please, take a seat – shall I get you a sweet coffee?" he began ushering you with his hand firmly placed on the small of your back. "Humans need sugar when they are in a state of shock, right? I'm quite sure of it" he battled with himself in his head.

"C-can I have juice instead?" you replied in the most innocent, child-like tone Jungkook had ever heard. He couldn't help but smile to himself, sitting you down on the chair as you looked back up to him, as if for confirmation of what was happening. Emotionally, you were a complete mess. But Jungkook seemed to have such a calming effect on you that you felt your body relax into the chair. Still, you couldn't erase the fresh memory of the way he crashed your body on to his.

"You can have whatever you wish" he gave you a smile, before turning around to his mini-fridge he kept in his office that was full of a selection of beverages for his frequenting clients.

"Sir.." you spoke up as he rummaged to find a bottle of diluted juice, "Mr. Brown…I – I think he was up to something…"

Jungkook heard the confusion and fear in your voice, along with being able to feel the doubt pooling in your stomach as he replied in a cool manner, in an attempt to keep you nice and docile. At the mention of the word 'Sir', Jungkook could tell that you were beginning to come back to your normal work-mode senses, much to his heartache. "How so?" he asked, opening the lid of the juice bottle and placing it in your lap.

"He…he wanted to see the Montgomery file." You replied quickly before taking a sip of the sweetened juice, feeling its tangy taste hit your taste buds in delight. Jungkook pulled up a chair beside you, crossing one leg over the other and letting your words settle in his brain.

"…and what did you say?"

"I told him no of course. And well…he didn't like that very much."

Jungkook then fully realised the extent of the situation. "She was protecting the file because she knew it was important to me.." he thought, knowing that you had directly put yourself in the firing line to always go above and beyond for him. While it caused him great pain to think that you had to bear that all by yourself, he found himself incredibly impressed by your strength. Unlike Vampires, humans were not blessed with immeasurable amounts of physical strength and endurance. But you had since unknowingly began teaching Jungkook that emotional loyalty and strength could be measured on the same wavelength as its physical counterpart – something that Vampires were incapable of understanding. However, Jungkook was learning, thanks to you.

"And…he also asked me if I was sleeping with you" you added, taking another sip of your juice, not being able to look Jungkook in the face when you said it as your cheeks formed a faint, pink blush. If you had of looked in his direction, you would have seen a look of boyish diffidence on Jungkook's face, before he let a slight deviant smirk unfold on his lips.

"Oh…and – your reply?" there was a beautiful hint of unprofessional mischief in his voice that made you look up at him immediately to be met by his unforgiving, hot stare on you that always made your legs feel like jelly.

"I…I told him that it was a highly inappropriate question." You replied, unknowingly licking your lips to gather the remainder of the juice that sat on them. Jungkook almost chuckled, noting that you didn't give Mr. Brown a clear 'Yes' or 'No' answer. Which ultimately made him wonder what you would have said if he had gotten the chance to continue where he left off in your apartment.

"I think that was a highly appropriate answer to that inappropriate question. You did well, (Y/N)" he gave you a shy, side smile in response. Neither of you could help but let small chuckles fill the not-so-awkward silence – the same thoughts about sleeping with each other circling your heads.

Jungkook leaned forward slightly, taking a breath and catching you completely off guard for a moment, "I meant to ask…why did you bite him?" he gave you a playful look of disbelief as you internally cringed. Part of you hoped he would have omitted that from his memory, alas – you were left with the task of explaining yourself.

"Well, you see – it's kind of like, a bad habit of mine?" you raised your voice as Jungkook stared back at you, completely shocked and anxious to hear more of an explanation. "Back when I was in kindergarten…I was one of those kids that bit other kids when they annoyed me or when I didn't get my own way…" you said, completely serious. However, you were taken aback when Jungkook let out a hearty laugh.

"So this isn't the first time you bit someone? Is it still a reoccurring habit?" he jested, thinking to himself "Are you sure she's a human?" while laughing at your humiliated expression.

"I'm not proud of it! And…no – it's not a reoccurring habit I swear! I don't know what came over me…I just did what came naturally…" you trailed off, finally seeing the humorous side to Jungkook's words as you laughed along with him. Something that you failed to tell Jungkook however, was the fact that; even though you had never been so intimate with a man in your life, something that you often fantasized about was the vanilla kink of biting during love-making. The thought of leaving your mark on another person while they left their mark on you always made your heartbeat skip. But this was not the time nor the place to delve into such discussions.

"Oh I see~" Jungkook purred back at you. "I take it that it didn't taste very pleasant?" another question in jest, however, Jungkook knew by the smell of Mr. Browns blood that it would have left a rather foul aftertaste in ones mouth. You scrunched your face up as if you had just bitten into an extremely sour lemon, making Jungkook smile delightfully at your antics.

"It was vile…" you replied, both of you staring into each other's eyes for a second too long. "I wonder if she tasted good blood, would she think differently?" he thought for a moment, before mentally smacking himself across the face for thinking such idiotic thoughts – however, it was something that made him curious nonetheless.

"(Y/N), if you want to take the rest of the day off, you are more than welcome to. I can't apologise enough for what happened today but…please know that Mr. Browns actions won't be swept under the rug. That's not how I run my company. He will pay for what he did to you today." Jungkook's voice turned serious once more as he gently placed his hand on top of your wrist. Even though he didn't come into direct contact with your skin, you felt a series of shivers prance across your entire body from his reassuring gesture.

"Sir…I'd like to thank you for coming in when you did. Seeing you…it kind of made me a little braver. But – there's no need for me to go home. Oh – which reminds me…" you stood up, not giving Jungkook a chance to tell you there's no need to thank him.

"The annual medical fundraising ball is this Saturday" you began walking over towards your office door. Jungkook watched you intently from his seated position as you opened the door to retrieve your diary that he knew was filled with his dates and appointments. "From reading up on reports from previous years, it's a plus one event, correct?" you stood in front of him once more, completely engrossed in your notes and waiting for his response. Jungkook cleared his throat nervously, knowing that if he were human, he would have sweaty palms as he stood up to stand just before you.

"Uh – yes…it's tradition for the men to bring their wives or girlfriends or whoever they wish to the event" you couldn't denote the somewhat timid tone to his voice. Jungkook had certainly been thinking of a way for the both of you to spend more time alone together – and he had previously decided to ask you if you would attend the ball with him. But with everything that had happened today, he really didn't expect his confession to be sprung on him like this – leaving him feeling like a mumbling, sweaty, nervous teenage boy who was just about to ask his crush to the school dance.

"Okay – well, would you like me to call the escort agency you have been using for this event for your plus one? Or will you be bringing someone else?" you asked in reference to what other office workers had previously told you. "Mr. Jeon always uses a high-class escorting agency to bring as his guest. It would be best to just call in advance and have them arrange someone as soon as possible" but you wanted to make sure that's what he wanted. Admittedly, you found yourself feeling slightly jealous at the thought of a gorgeous woman being draped around Jungkook. You knew that these types of escorting agencies only provided their services for social events such as the ball – and nothing else. But still, you felt green with envy nonetheless. However, it was your job – and you couldn't let your feelings for your boss get in the way of being professional.

"Okay Jungkook, this is simple. All you have to do is say 'No, I'd like you to come with me instead'. It's not hard – just ask her." Jungkook coached himself through the moment as you looked up to him, confused as to why he was just standing there with a deflated look on his face instead of responding to your questions.

"I won't be requiring their services this year. I've made plans to ask someone else to come as my guest." Jungkook straightened himself up, fixing the hem of his shirt as he tried to gather his confidence.

"Oh…okay then – that's no problem" you replied as normally as you could, but you could feel the hurtful pang of jealousy strike you. "Just a moment ago, he was holding me close and…god – I really am stupid" you cursed yourself. "He already has someone else…" But a half a second later, Jungkook spoke so quickly and loudly, he almost set you flying through the roof with his words.

"(Y/N) – if you're not doing anything this weekend, I'd like you to accompany me to the ball." Jungkook had given his best attempt at asking you to be his date, but it came out louder and colder than he had expected.

At his response, you almost dropped your pen to the floor "…you want me to be your escort?" you asked, taken aback and confused as you felt your mouth turn slightly dry.

"No! I mean – I want you to come with me, but…as my guest. As…as my plus one" he very nearly tumbled over his words, wondering whether it would be appropriate or not to call you his 'date' or otherwise. You blinked several times, looking into his face that was riddled with anxiety and nervousness that you almost found it incredibly endearing to see him in such a vulnerable way.

"Well…no, I'm not doing anything this weekend…" you began, thinking "When do I ever do anything at the weekends?"

"So, you'll join me?" Jungkook took half a step towards you, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. In that moment, he could have sworn he felt what he read about in many of the romance novels he had delved into during his life time. "The fleeting wings of butterflies in one's stomach…"

"Uhm…sure – I'll…I'll come with you" you replied slowly, not even registering the fact that Jungkook had just invited you – his P.A, to join him at a ball, of all places. "Thank you, Sir" you nodded your head quietly at him. Silence formed in the air around you – neither of you knowing what to say or do next.

"Oh, is there…perhaps a dress code for this ball?" you suddenly realised that you owned no garments or attire fit for a lavish event such as a fundraising ball. Jungkook quickly nodded in turn, smiling at the thought of seeing you in a gorgeous dress.

"Yes – it's formal evening wear. Suits, dresses…that kind of thing" he replied, imagining how your body would look in a dress that suited your shape to perfection. However, upon hearing you let out a small sigh and watching your face as if someone had just dimmed the lights in the room, Jungkook tilted his head in confusion.

"Sir…maybe it would be best for me to call the agency after all. I'm sure that the women there would be more aesthetically suited to be by your side. I…I don't own that kind of clothing" you spoke in a small voice, feeling embarrassed and ashamed at the fact that the only clothes you had were practical ones that you used for going to work or out to the store to pick up what you needed for your apartment.

"Is that the only reason you won't come with me? Because you don't have something to wear?" Jungkook spoke clearly, seeing you nod in turn with your head facing the floor – your cheeks on fire with pure embarrassment. The next thing you knew, Jungkook was leaning over at his desk, clicking and typing away on his laptop.

"W-what are you doing, Sir?" you asked, moving forward slightly to try and glance at the screen.

"One moment, please." Jungkook replied gently, finishing up whatever he was doing before closing his laptop down and placing it inside his briefcase. You watched him in bewilderment as he picked his jacket up off the back of his chair before pulling it over his shoulders, straightening himself out with his briefcase in hand.

"I've just cancelled the rest of my appointments for today. Please follow me" he smiled at you angelically as he began ushering you in the direction of his office doors.

"W-what? You cancelled 4 appointments? Sir that's –" you began to argue, but soon ceased your words as soon as Jungkook opened the office door to be met by panicked reception staff who just received confirmation of his cancelled schedule. You knew that something like this would put everyone else in turmoil with having to deal with angry clients – yet Jungkook seemed as if he couldn't care less.

"Erina, please offer my deepest apologies to our clients today. If you could inform them that there has been somewhat of an emergency that I must attend to? I will deal with them next week and rearrange the meetings myself. Thank you, Erina. And – I'm sorry for springing this on you all. Thank you all for working so hard" he smiled, bowing politely several times.

Every single woman in the reception area, including you, looked at Jungkook as if he had just sprouted an extra 3 heads. "Thank you all for working so hard?" you thought, severely shocked and almost tickled pink by his words of regret and encouragement.

"I – um…of course Sir. Please, go ahead." Erina stuttered back, obviously thinking the same thing as you. A second later, Jungkook flashed one last smile at her, before pushing you in the direction of the elevator.

"Sir…what are you doing?" you spoke to him in a loud whisper, completely befuddled by his last minute decision to cancel absolutely everything while pushing you out the door with him. As Jungkook called the elevator to the floor, he leaned against the wall beside you, giving you a delicate smile while raising his eyebrow in a playful manner. In all his life, he had never cancelled a full day of work – ever. Yet, the thrill of doing such a strange action excited him, especially when his reasoning behind all of it was you, in an attempt to have you by his side…right where he needed you.

"You said you didn't have anything to wear to the ball. I'm sure you're feeling like you don't want to embarrass yourself, or perhaps even embarrass me. So…I'm taking you shopping." He said simply and very matter-of-factly, to which you opened your mouth to begin arguing with him.

"Ah – ah…quiet now. You wouldn't want to disobey your boss, would you, (Y/N)?" he placed his index finger against your lips, his voice heavily laced with a deviant, flirtatious tone to match the look in his eyes that he was giving you. Jungkook wanted more than anything for you to be by his side, linked arm and arm with him while showing you off to the whole word. And if the only thing that was stopping you from comfortably doing that was something so simple as not having a dress – he would gladly shower you from head to toe in anything you wanted to have that chance with you.

As the elevator doors opened, you let out a shy chuckle in response to Jungkook's actions, shaking your head in defeat. "Ugh – fine then. But I'm paying for it, okay?" You replied, half jokingly, half seriously frustrated as the both of you took a step inside the elevator. Of course, you wanted to push your developing relationship with Jungkook off in the right direction, but at the same time – the thought of him spending money on you made you feel uneasy. You didn't want him to think that you only liked him for the social stance he stood at or the amount of power and money he held behind him. Jungkook was more than aware of these types of people – women especially, who had tried to 'seduce' him in the past; but to no avail. He knew that you may have possibly felt like it was overstepping a boundary or two, but he wanted to pull you into his world with both of his hands. And it seemed that the first step to doing that was taking you out and buying you a beautiful dress, fit for the woman who had completely stolen all sense from him and captivated his heart.

Standing with his feet firmly placed on the fire-escape grids just outside your apartment's window that you always left ajar for Mugsy, Yoongi quietly peered into your home. It was the most perverse way of invading your privacy, but Yoongi did not care for such moral standings. For the past week, he had been watching you come and go from a distance, never allowing himself to get too close in fear you would notice him present. But today was different, as today – he felt his curiosity get the better of him. Yoongi had grown tired of being patient. He needed to fill his being with you once again – to reaffirm you were the one he had been searching for…and he was right.

"Careful…" he thought as he took a step towards the window. Even though he had gone rogue, Yoongi still had to obey the ancient laws of trust between Vampires and humans – that, and he couldn't go blowing himself up either. Poking his head around the window and taking extra caution to not stick his nose in too far, he lingered on the boarder of safety and danger. Yoongi breathed in the scent of your home, being hit all at once by the mellow, soothing aura that radiated from it as your natural scent from your belongings filled his nostrils. "She's…definitely the one" his throat produced a faint moaning sound as all of his senses seemed to dwindle away to nothing. However, his pleasure was soon replaced by excruciating pain, as unbeknownst to him; Mugsy had been sitting just behind the curtain – watching what he knew to be an unwelcome Vampire stick his nose where it didn't belong, quite literally.

"Fuck!" Yoongi cried out as Mugsy's claws came into contact with his face through the open space of the window. Mugsy snarled and hissed at him in the process, attempting to protect his territory and knowing that Yoongi was not the same type of Vampire as Jungkook. There was quite a distinctive smell between Vampires who hunted humans and other sentient beings, compared to Vampires such as Jungkook who only fed off harvested blood – and Mugsy could smell this the moment Yoongi jumped up outside the window. Yoongi stumbled backwards with his hand pressed to his face, glaring back at Mugsy who was baring all of his teeth with every strand of fur sticking up on his back.

"Fucking cat…" Yoongi hissed back at him, before quickly scaling the wall to the rooftop.

"Woah there – I know you said we're here to watch some girl but…don't tell me a little bit of pussy did that to you?" a loud voice came from behind Yoongi on the rooftop as he turned around to be met by three other Vampires; the one speaking to him being the tallest of them all.

"Shut the fuck up Namjoon" Yoongi groaned back in annoyance, looking down at his hand that was stained with his own blood.

"It's a good job us Vampires heal quickly~ That scar doesn't suit your cute little face, right Hoseok?" the second tallest Vampire who wore a pale pink hoody chuckled to himself as he addressed the third Vampire present.

"You're right Jin! But it's fading nicely now, he'll be adorable again in no time" Hoseok laughed back at Jin's words before both of them ceased their cackling as Yoongi flashed them an angry, formidable glare.

"I think you've both been hanging out with the wrong brother…idiots" Yoongi's tone was deep and menacing. He felt his scars fade and tighten into his skin. "I've always…fucking hated cats" he seethed through his teeth, before turning round to face all three Vampires head on.

"Speaking of Taehyung, did you hear?" Hoseok piped up, piquing Yoongi's interest at the mention of his brother.

"Yeah – the human that Yoongi bit a few days ago…Taehyung has taken him in and is 'rehabilitating' him. In more ways than one" Jin giggled along with Hoseok, winking to him as they both made subtle gagging sounds to each other.

"…you're both disgusting" Yoongi mumbled in response, trying to put the thoughts of his brother to the back of his mind and focus on the task at hand, before motioning for Namjoon to walk with him to the other side of the rooftop.

"What do you plan on doing with them?" Namjoon spoke to Yoongi in the language of ancient times that Vampires used to use to communicate. Yoongi knew that Jin and Hoseok were 'newer' Vampires, making their conversation one hundred percent completely private.

"They're a means to an end. I'll have no use for them after I get what I want." Yoongi replied in the same tongue as they approached the other end of the roof. Namjoon looked down to Yoongi – seeing him in his usual black jeans, black shirt and black jacket – his pale features framed with his black hair.

"…and what is it exactly that you want?" he asked, folding his arms into his own sweatshirt as Yoongi continued to gaze off towards the city. Namjoon knew that he could never get a direct answer from Yoongi. Even when Yoongi had gotten in contact with him, Jin and Hoseok – he never explained why he needed them to bust him out, speaking in riddles and hidden meanings. Namjoon however, was always and would forever remain loyal to Yoongi. After all, Yoongi was the one who turned Namjoon into a Vampire to begin with. Ultimately, this meant he had no choice, for when a Vampire bites a human and poisons them with their venom, that human – when they become a vampire – becomes bound to their creator. In this case, Namjoon belonged to Yoongi, and would remain so until his end of days.

"I expect things to pick up from now onwards. The cat will no doubt have my scent on him…" Yoongi smirked to himself, feeling rather proud of the fear that he might instil in the coming days.

"If it's the girl you're after, why don't we just jump her on her way back from work? It's easy man, we've done shit like this so many times in the past and –"

"But this one…this one is different, Namjoon" Yoongi turned to face him, grinning a devilish smile on his porcelain features. As he spoke, he almost growled with an insane tone dripping from his voice that set both fear and excitement coursing through Namjoon's tainted veins.

"She's special.

And she's mine".
