Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

I ran over as fast as I could as I regain my breath. My head spins as I soon met eyes with the bloodied body of Bailey. Her eye lids was halfway closed as she rested upon a crate. Blood gushing out of her mouth and her opened shoulder. The shoulder wasn't opened fully that her arm would fall off, no.

"This can't be" erupted Candice into tears. My arm hugged over her shoulders as she was drawn close to me. I can't believe it too. I saw and talked to her yesterday, not knowing that the next day would end up like this. Sniffles was muffled as everyone else catches up to behind me. Gasps erupted from all around me as the atmosphere began to gloom. I kneeled down in front of the body with Candice. The other exchanges terrors as they let in a moment of silence. Today felt terribly bad but I have to find out who could of done it.

I forced myself off the ground to separate myself from everyone else. The sight looked too real to be fake. Gravel scraped behind me, "Lianne." I stumbled and turned behind. Ash catches up to me. He looks like he's about to vomit. "Who ever did this has to be some sort of animal or something," as he adverts eye contact with me. I lifted up an eyebrow as I took a long inhale of the air. "There were also claw marks on bailey's body.". "That doesn't explain the chewed up shoulder though." Ace interrupted a second later as he reveals himself from behind Ash. I tensed up, since when did he chose to eavesdrop. I dropped my shoulder as I relaxed because I knew that everyone has to get involved with this sooner or later.

"Maybe this does explain it- The claw marks and the shoulder. That's the wounds an animal would give," he stopped a second later to gather his thoughts or to think. "What animal that big would leave such a huge wound though, the shoulder looks badly torn". I took a second to look back when we got our roles. I was the seer but I barely got the gist of what it does. I can tell that the others have their own roles as well. I hope we get some clues sooner or later. We continued discussing about this until we parted ways to rest later on. I still was nerved wrecked so I chose to explore some places.

I did catch my eyes on a area where trees were covering. Since I had nothing to do, this is what I could do, who knows when I can find the clues we needed. I looked around for someone to come with me, it wouldn't be a good idea to go by myself. Candice was still resting because of the stress she went through today. I haven't talked much to Finn so I chose to take this chance to this time. I walked over to him. He looked up at me in response.

"Finn, can I ask you something for a second," as I directed a empty space to talk with my thumb. He nodded in response as he gets up, revealing chase behind him. I dropped eye contract him as he gives me a stern look. I continued walking over to Finn, who was waiting for me. "What is it," Finn brings back up the subject, in a surprisingly soft calm tone. I took a pause as I collected words to say. "I found this spot and I want to explore it." I chose to say it straight forwardly. he looked over at where I was pointing him to. "Sure, I do also want to get to know you better." It's like he read my mind. "Also to find clues about Bailey's death and what we are supposed to do about the game," I added, surprised that Finn took it in easily.

Once we had arrived at the entrance, I swallowed my breath and led the way for Finn. For periods of time, I look back to see if Finn is behind me. I came across one of the rock walls that surrounded us and noticed that this one had a hole that is shaped like an entrance. "There wasn't much to find around here but this could at least have something in here," I shunned the flashlight that I has chosen to carry. Finn peeked in for a bit before taking little steps in, with me following him. Footsteps echoed as it bounced off the walls and onto us. I looked around cautiously, trying to adjust my eyes to the only light that was beaming. Finn froze for a moment, making me walk into him. The flashlight scanned what was in front of him as he tried to look for the right way to walk.

"What i- is this place," my nerves caused me a little stuttering. I tried to look over at Finn, who was calm. I'm impressed that he was calm the whole time, walking in this dimly lit caves gave me chills. the ground braked for us as he stopped to inspect what's in front of him. His hands laying flat and searching the wall, with me holding the flashlight. He backed up as he grabbed the flashlight out of my hand. The light revealed red letterings, it was big to see since I was too close. I backed up beside him as he started to read out the letters on the walls.

"The death has begun and it is time for you to bring justice upon to save your village," Finn read slowly out loud as he took pauses of moving the flashlight. I tried my best to interpret the meaning as I was completely confused, it wasn't that vague but it still need a lot of thinking considering I don't know much about our situation. I think back to my role as seer, it sounded like a character from a video game, I dismissed it way back then. I only know a person who plays video games and that's Hayden. I knew Hayden to be a video game type of person as he would spend a lot of his free time playing games. I smiled at that fact as I came back to what's in front of me. We took a moment of silence as suddenly i get tugged backwards into the wall behind me. I coughed as the air gets knocked out of me. I turned around and the light from the outside only sunned the part of the silhouette.

I recognize that face, it was Chase. For a quick interval of a second, Finn lunged at Chase giving me time as they struggled. "Go!" shouted Finn as he tried to keep pinning Chase down. I knew that I only had a little bit of time left because Chase isn't a weak person. I looked forward as I watched my steps. Leaving Finn behind isn't going to be a good idea but I will set on finding him again. I rushed out fast and back to the camp where I met with Candice. "Have you seen Chase," Candice started up a conversation. I took some time to catch my breath. Wasn't he with the others at the came when I left? I nodded shockingly as I tried to catch her and the others up as short and fast as I could. Ash reacted fast as he ran for the entrance, others following behind him. This led me and Candice behind as we exchange looks.
