Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

It wasn't too long before me and Candice caught up, Finn was still on the ground as the others pull Chase away. They weren't too happy about what's happening right now, some examining the written words shown on the wall. This reminded me that I still have to ask Hayden about it, I'll ask him at a later time. I rushed myself as I help up Finn to go back to the camp. I still didn't know what was going on with Chase and why he just randomly showed up. This all didn't really make any sense to me or to anybody. Bailey is now dead and someone is hinting a clue to us.

"Finn, you okay," as Ash collected all the paper towels that I had stashed in my pocket back when we were camping. He's been silent for a while eve since what happened back at the cave. I gave him some space as I distanced myself to think over. It was all straight forward, the clue is just written on the wall and not given after a hard task was given. Again, who knows if this is a game or not. That leaves me with having to ask Hayden about what was written earlier. I took a breather as I went to find him.

I looked over as I scraped my hands across the wall, catching him sitting on the sone nearby the cave. He notices me walking towards him as he looks up in acknowledgement. I opened my mouth as I start the conversation, "So did you see the rest of the cave?" I didn't know if he checked out the cave but I put it out there just in case. "Mhm I did," I leave it out for me to think about.

"There's something I want to ask you about," I took a seat next by him. "I don't know if I should be telling anybody this, so keep it between us for a bit. I wanted to ask you what Seer meant.". He leans his head in response. I gulped as I turned to the other side a bit.

He wrapped his hand around my arm as to stop me from going anywhere. "I heard it while I was playing one of the adventure games, I can't really recall it easily". He continues on, "All I can remember about it is that a seer can find out a real identity of a player, like how detectives would in real life,". I let that sink into my head before connecting the dots on what he had explained. This all make sense now, if I was to have a role, the others would have a role too. I thanked Hayden and then headed off back to the camp. Since Bailey died, it is now my turn to find out who killed her.

I prepared myself as I went around to question everybody, I stopped at the thought that Chase hasn't been himself for a while. I took a mental note. The first person I went to is Candice, there's no good reason for me to suspect her for such a thing, so I asked straight forward. "Where were you when Bailey was killed?". I asked so suddenly that she jumped at the question.

"I was with Ace helping carrying some stuff over, that's when I aw her dead body," she added. I gave her a nod to thank her. I could cross out Ace with her also. I still have this thought that I already know who could it be, I agreed with myself as I went back to where Bailey was. I made way to Bailey's body to give it more inspection. The blood surrounding her dried up pretty fast. I hesitated before feeling the pool of dried up blood with my bare fingers.

"What are you doing?" I looked around to only find Ash running around the place.

"I'm looking over her body, I need to find out who did this," I replied, looking back down at my fingers. "You know I also suspect Chase too, he was acting strange when I tried talking to him," I looked back at him as I was trying to agree with him. It's like he was thinking of also the same thing about him. From the time the building collapsed to Finn getting attacked by him.

I picked myself up to sand off my hands. "I do so too. It was very random and sudden when he showed up after I read what was on the wall in the cave earlier." I walk off along with him to continue talking about him. Soon, it was nighttime and for me to start making my decision. I asked Finn for his opinion, he was still shook from earlier, so the only response I got was Chase. I didn't get a chance to look for Hayden but I wouldn't doubt that he would also choose Chase. Chills start to form on my back as time got closer. He was a person I could ever talked to and depended on ever since I got into school 3 years ago. It would be unsettling if he was actually the killer. Talking about it, the slash marks on Bailey's body did look like claw marks. I couldn't come up with any reason why would a killer would do that if they were to do it with a weapon. A picture of her body flashed in my mind and I shook. I walked out of one of cave to sit down with the rest, maybe I could continue my discussion about it, make it all make sense. I paused midway as I stop myself from bumping into someone. It was Hayden, standing with an emotionless, deep in thought glare.

"Where were you?" I started off the conversation, forgetting about what I was about to do as I headed to sit down. I guess all this had made my kinda tired. He looked around then walked to stand in front of me. It felt awkward to not be on eye level, so I stood back up again. "I figured out something. First, let me show you something." The way he said made it sound he want it to be secret. I accepted the fact that I was and I could be the first person he told. I'm proud of that.

He pushed back the crates to uncover an entrance of a height taller than me. I gave him a side glare to give him to proceed. He turned on the entrance to reveal a hallway. We continued to walked down for me to look around. The plaza revealed different rooms that looks exactly like a classrooms. I continued to look around the area, it also had the same playground and cafeteria a school would have. I already got the impression that this is a school, how could it be all the way here? It stacked more questions upon the pile.

"What could be this place be for, it doesn't look very active.." I had forgotten that was a question while I tracked my finger on the scratched up plate, that was drilled to the building's door that read "institution." It was a relief that there was somewhere other than the campground that we walked out when we first ended up here. Silence continued on as I was still walking around.

"That's what I was thinking, I spent the whole day looking around." he responded.

"What is that you wanted to tell me?" bringing back what he was saying from earlier. He pulled me into a classroom and we sat down.

"Earlier, you asked what Seer meant, I said that it was role but it wasn't until later it is related to the board game I played a long time ago." This intrigued me and I rushed him to explain more. He quickly added "Other than the role of the seer, there is a werewolf, or werewolves, their objective is to kill whoever is the villagers. I know the many roles to it, that's why I took notice that I could be dumbed down because of the amount of us there are."

I connected the pieces together. The slash mark left on Bailey's body. It resembles an animal claws. I could now agree that it was a werewolf attack. "If it was a werewolf, that explains the marks on her body." Hayden agreed "That could be it, if so then we will be playing the board game, Werewolves of Millers Hollow." I never heard of It before, but it seems like it all makes sense. "So if we are playing the game from the start, I assume tonight is where the werewolf will be chosen to die." It seems like there's no chance of the werewolf getting out of this, the thought of the game going on forever pushes the heard down to my waist. I want it to go on forever, seeing my friends ending up in the same situation as I am right now.

"I'll get everyone to tell them," I start to move myself back towards the entrance, leaving Hayden behind.
