Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

It was my voice that hinted its uneasiness and troubles of recalling it. That dream I had back then, I could hardly ever remember the full details of it. "It's hard to remember really... It was way before we ended up here," I stumbled across my words, letting my mind think over what I was going to say next, I could still remember stepping through a door that led to my doom. It wasn't all that happened during that time frame, there was also a monster who did haunt me there. I wasn't focused too much on recalling that part, but trying to remember what that woman who claimed to be my 'mom' said.

Ash cups my hand under his. The warmth of his hand flows onto my cold and trembling fingers, "Take your time. I can tell it's a lot to remember." I feel relaxed and of course comforted after hearing that, so I took the effort into remembering better. Every little detail had to be remember to be able to piece together and remember it well. I chose to start from the beginning.

My head nodded even without me controlling it as I started to tell as much as I can, "Well I basically woke up in my old room, I'm guessing that was my old house. It didn't seem like my house at all—" I didn't want to word it that way, "Well, it was a lot more scary that you think it is."

"Was it the old house that was down the road from my house?"

"It is. I remember hearing a woman singing from the other side of the door. It didn't seem much to me since it was hard to hear. I eventually walked out and saw this woman who was cradling...something. It looked more burnt looking, like if that child was to be burnt by a fire. It was the song that struck me though..." I scratched my head before running to the closest room we was sitting near to. My hand reached to grab a piece of paper that was laying around on the floor and a dirtied, scratched up pencil. My mind attempted to recollect to what the woman has said. Ash eventually walked beside me, "What are you doing?"

"It would be better if I wrote down what the woman in that room had sung." My concentration pushed harder. The pitch and rhythm had circulated back in the front of my head as I remember how she had sung the song now. She had sung it softly, but slowly also.

[When the clock strikes three]

I jumbled through the paper and quickly jotted it down. He looks behind my shoulder and reads it. He nods to himself and adjusts himself onto the table his arms are leaning on.

"Is when the two lovebirds nest together," I repeated to myself, continuing on writing it down. It made sense to me so far. The questions struck me as hard as me remembering it. Why was she singing it to a child? I doubt that it was for the child. There is more than just that.

"What doesn't make sense is why that time did she chose to sing it. Why to the child she was holding too," I scoffed, "I doubt that was even a living child." I want to stick with the thought that she way trying to hint something.

"So what the woman was saying was that when the clock strikes three, it was when two lovebirds come together. Was she actually describing birds?"

"I don't think so—not necessarily. This is still half to what she said. This could mean about two people falling in love with each other. It doesn't really make sense why it was in my dream specifically." It didn't seem like it tied to anything, related or unrelated, was at that time we first got into the game too.

"Could it be that it could relate to your mom? That's why it looked like my mother?" The question lied between us, silencing us up. We took a moment to quietly think it through again. Everything about the woman is exactly similar to my mothers, the hair, the eyes.

"It could be a doppel—"

"—that's ridiculous. I wouldn't even believe that it would be in my dream of places." it startled me that the woman could be anything but my mother.

"Well, my mom died years ago, Ash. It could be possible this could be related to my mother after all, but we don't know this yet. Hell, I don't even know who strangled her." I wanted to let it all out, now that it came back to me. "I don't remember how my mom was like, its been a long time. The song that the woman sang sounded familiar."

"Connected by a single worm. The worm falling from a fragile human hand." Thats all I could remember. I had writing it all down and read it over and over again, with Ash reading along beside me. Is the woman trying to tell me something? I folded the paper over in half for some time to think of it. My arm swept the table with agitation. "Come on, there is still more that happened in my dream."

"There is something that the woman said when I talked to her. It was strange...something about if I have checked the children." The wind blows against my hair, I sweep my hair to the side, fiddling with my fingers afterwards. She might have also included the child that she was holding too.

He throws a worried look, mixed with visible concern look on his face, "That is odd. You were the only child. It would be no use asking you what could she have been talking about, or maybe whether or not she worked at a place with children."

"Right, it wouldn't help at all," I sighed, slumping my back, "Other than that, I ended up getting confronted by some dark..looking...creature." The crisp air rubs against my skin, making me rub my left cheek. "It didn't have legs or at least a body. It looked like a spirit if I had to describe it. I didn't know what else was going on or why it chose to creep on me."

Ash stretches out his arms before heaving out a sigh, "Well I'm glad that you let it all out, it could help us later on you know?" he said before pulling me close for a hug. The strength almost crushes me, I forgot that Ash was strong. I returned back the hug in relief that he's always there for me. All that confusion made me want me to let the tears out.

"I doubt that," I lastly responded before I start to get myself together.

I let him go before walking back out. We have been here talking the whole time, that I forgot that we both were planning to meet up with the others. I nudged the gate open, causing in a screech. "Let's go meet up with the others now." The heavy step of my left legs crush the leaves under me, I pushed aside some of them into pile using my shoes. The wind knocking over the top of the pile over. The dream didn't make any sense to me before, but knowing what she was sining made it a lot clearer, of course I would still have to figure how this all would tie to the game if it did.

I continued walking, with Ash behind me.

I hid behind the wall, looking behind Lianne and Ash. They look so good together, always being with each other and such. I could say that I'm jealous, but its more mixed with envy. A piece of myself being filled. I feel so heart-struck seeing them together. I know what's the right thing to do for them, even if it mean that I have to give up something. I heave out a heavy sigh, mixed with a small moan, as I carved their name onto my arm, the blood gushing out as I trace my skin with the knife on my right hand, sharply exhaling until my lungs went empty. The rush that I felt running in my body felt great. My knees grew weak as I drop myself against the wall, my vision blurring, dropping my head to the ground. "Love sure is a difficult feeling, isn't it?"
