Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

"Woah! you're taking off your shirt too?!" Ash almost drops Finn to stop me. His hands almost hitting my chest.

I scoffed a bit, "I don't care" I ripped the bottom half of my shirt to wrap around the rest of his torso. My jacket was enough to wrap up half of his torso, but the stab wound left a bigger mark than I expected. He clenches his right fist while putting an attempt to grip into the torn grass below him. I'm surprised he is still holding on. Just a few minutes ago, he was stabbed by what seems to be Chase. I'm also just as surprised that's how Chase...died. It was really ended by Finn stabbing it in the heart. I'm still processing that lying body of that beast, couldn't wrap my head around it at all. There was a question that still wraps around my head from time to time since then, how did he turn into a.. werewolf? Was it something that was put into our bodies?

"Well, what now?" Candice asks, longing for a response from anybody. She still is assisting Finn from his wound but took a little break here and there to let the others have a turn in helping. I understood her too well, it must been tiring doing all this, I'm tired a bit also. If I could look around and know what everybody's thinking, I don't doubt that this is both mentally and physically tiring. I wipe the sweat beads forming on my forehead and walked away from them to space out.

The place that we had escaped into after the whole building collapsed. The building where we ended up after I had been knocked out back when we chose to hang out after school. We ended up doing most of our things outdoors now considering that we didn't end up in another building. I examine the leaves and vines that wraps around the fence separating the cliff and the deep depth of a fall below. If I had to describe what the outdoors look like, it would be just a lot of leaves and trees and half of them are concrete grounds. It almost looks like a garden to me.

"Well other than looking out for Finn. With the way things happened, I might as well expect for it to turn into ashes and fly away with the wind," I turned around, sensing that someone as behind me. It was Candice, still walking around to rest, and hoping to know what's next. I looked at the body of the beast back to Candice a few more times before forming a response of a simple shrug.

"How about just burying it?" Candice suggest herself, trying to keep her composure from losing it. She sounds half uneasy about that suggestion but considering how big and massive the place is, there could be a spot to bury it.

"Burying a body that size??" Now that I have finally found a response. I didn't intend to hint my frustration and confusion out on her. I exhaled out a heavy sigh before heading back slowly towards Finn and the others, thinking of a way while doing so. I hand motioned Candice to follow behind so I could give her any thoughts I could think of.

"Well, we could get everyone to come help drag the body to the place I saw behind the cave." I knew that there it was a problem carrying the heavy load all the way to the cave spot. It wasn't that bad of an idea if I had to be honest. Candice notes to her self before agreeing.

"We could do that! I'll ask everyone to help in." Candice bursts in enthusiasm, it was all of the sudden but I needed it. "Well, make sure to give Finn some rest" I replied back, not sure if she had heard me though. The edges of my mouth forming into a small smile. I started to also looking around also for at least someone I could help asking.

It took a while, the sun had settled while I went around and asked. We were lucky to know that the garden has the right tools laying around especially for digging up ditches. I snatched a few shovels and held some in between my sides and my arms. The weight of the shovels was overwhelming to carry so I had already given up holding them between my armpits. I passed around the shovels and went straight to work. This is going to be a big pit, I could tell.

After it all calmed down, I headed back towards the bloodied beast and began rolling it. I ignored the horrendous stench as I rolled the heavy body over, with the help of Ace- who was near by, to retrieve the notes that flew down and was stepped on. Some of the notes was dirtied, we couldn't tell what was written anymore.

"We should drop these notes along with burying Bailey," I suggested to the group, with some of them agreeing and some agreeing slightly. I shuffled through the notes once again to see if there isn't anything we was missing when we first read, and reading the ones that Candice collected. There wasn't much on the notes other than the fact that Chase has murdered his dad the same night we ended up here. There was also that Bailey was the one to read his notes and attempted to talk it out to him. That led them to having a fight and him ending up murdering her. I reread over and over again, there is a couple details that I and the others who read missed out on.

Written on one of the papers that Bailey had written, she did attempt to sympathize to Chase that it isn't his fault and that his dad didn't had to right to treat him like that. I trace my fingers along the words and read the rest quietly to myself.

[It was never the right thing for him to leave you locked in the room years ago. I knew it. He knew it, but this is fucked up that you were thinking of murdering him. Is there even a chance for him to make it up to you?]

I stopped there and quickly thought over the note. It was a shock that Bailey had known about what happened with him years ago, even though it seems like they didn't knew each other that long around us. His did had done a great deal of damage to him, even locking him in his own room. That's a whole load of fucked up. This does seem like much but I have a feeling that there is more to it. I physically shook my head and looked back up.

"We should probably head to the spot where Bailey was left at so I could drop the notes in her ditch," I rustles the notes in attempt to shake some of the dirt off. Ace took a few more glances over the already halfway buried pile and stashed the notes in his pocket. He clicked his tongue and patted his clothes down from all the dirt his shirt had accumulated.

I second thought this to myself whether it's a good idea to bury the notes where Bailey laid. I wouldn't be using this again anytime soon now that we concluded that it was Chase who killed her. Just every time I keep thinking about finding Bailey that day.. Seeing Chase just die, it all made the air get stuck halfway my throat.

"Hey, you okay?" the voice echos into my ear, interrupting the train of thoughts that is close to clouding my thoughts. My knees grew weak for a bit, having myself to be caught from behind. I took a little moment to shake myself out before looking behind me. It was Ash. I nearly chucked at the fact that Ash is always somewhere near me every time. It's cute and I appreciate him being there.

"Well, I kinda spaced out did I?.." I continue chuckling, letting my shoulders rest on his arms.

He kinds fumbles a bit, "Yeah you did, the rest just finished burying Bailey. Want to come over to see it?"

"I want to see her one last time. After all, it isn't the end of it yet," I sniffle my nose and walks ahead to the dig site. Ash wasn't too far behind and looked like he wanted to say something, I paused just to hint that I know that. He took the hint and starts to slow down. "Is there anything you want to say?"

I sighed for a big to slump over his arm, still while standing up. "Well, there are a lot of things that I happened during this whole time. I wanted to talk about something, something that happened way while ago that I just didn't thought about it until now." He nodded for me to continue.
