Chapter 25 - Pacts And Servants Part Three

"Master, before I was dumb. The things I said and did were because I was trying to win favor with Sergeant Greystone. I noticed that when I walked by him that he gave me a look signaling that he liked me, which I smiled back at him. To be honest, I did not want to try to seduce him, but because he is a general in the army, it means he has high standing, whereas my family is nothing. My family is at the bottom of the pyramid when it comes to social status. I thought maybe if I could please him by tormenting you, I would get him to like me, and maybe he would offer to marry me. I found out that he didn't like you after that day on the training field. After I was healed, I talked to him privately and let him touch my chest and kiss me…

"I felt disgusted, but I could only think of the gains. Because of my disgust for what I was doing, I took my anger out on you while at the same time trying to please the Sergeant." Ella bowed her head in apology.

"I see. Did he ever tell you the reason why he hated me?" Fate asked.

"No. He just said that he wanted to rid the world of one more failure, especially one who is trying to push their way into trinity society." Ella answered.

"I see…" Fate walked back to the couch and sat down, lost in thought for a moment. "I wish there was a way to keep my {Charm} from affecting others when I do not want it to."

"Master, you can!" Ella answered Fate's question causing her to look up at Ella.

"I can. How? Don't tell me I just need to stop it from coming out or something along those lines." Fate hoped things were not as simple as they seem. But when she thought about it, she actually never tried to stop her {Charm} from working at all.

"You will not be able to stop it completely, but you will be able to keep the range down to a few centimeters around your body. So only those who were right up against you would be affected by it." Ella explained to Fate that you only need to think about shrinking the radius around your body.

Fate let out a long sigh wishing this kind of information was in her system. Fate concentrated for a while, and when she felt that she had done as Ella suggested, Fate took off her hood. "Jean, how is it?"

"Seems to have worked. I am sitting next to you, but I do not feel the need to abide by your will and command. Let me get closer." Jean leaned over closer and closer until her face was a few centimeters from Fate's face, and only then did she start to feel weird again. As soon as she felt this feeling, she sat back up and pulled away from Fate. "I only felt the effects of your {Charm} when I was really close to you."

"Okay, then how about now?" Fate tried to expand her {Charm} out a little, and Jean, who was not actually prepared, instantly fell into a trance and stared at Fate in a daze.

"Master, she is already under the influence of your {Charm}." Ella giggled, seeing Jean looking at Fate with stars in her eyes. Fate felt relieved now that she had more control of her {Charm} passive skill. She couldn't turn it completely off, but this worked well for her. She reduced her {Charm} as much as possible, snapping Jean out of her daze.

"Wow, I never thought your {Charm} would be so powerful. I was normal, but then all of a sudden, I felt like I couldn't take my eyes off you. If you had asked me to kill myself, I probably would have and would have done so happily." Jean's whole body shook. Just thinking about how quickly she fell under Fate's {Charm} when she wasn't prepared scared her a bit.

"Now, that that is out of the way." Fate ran her fingers through her hair. She was happy that she did not need to hide her appearance anymore. "Ella, you have an apartment outside the academy?"

"Yes, I do. It has five rooms, and the security is tight. I live there by myself. My parents live off world and are always busy, so they will never come to visit, and if they do, they will contact me in advance. Are you planning to use my apartment, Master?" Ella asked.

"Yes. I have two other servants that will be joining us. One is my mother, and the other is the first person I turned. I mainly want to get out of the slums, so I need a base of operations within the city." Fate was happy that Ella understood what she meant.

"Then my apartment is yours to use as you please, Master." Ella said happily.

"It's ready." Shae came out of the side room with a strange device in one hand and a tablet in the other. The device looked almost like a gun, but it had many different things wired together on it.

"Good, can you scan Ella for me, please." Fate asked.

"Sure thing." Shae walked over to Ella and pointed the gun at Ella, and pulled the trigger. A red thin wide beam shot out and hit Ella's body. Shae moved the beam up and down on Ella for a few seconds before looking at her laptop. "All her information is the same. The only thing that is different compared to what I got out of the database is that her stats have gone up a bit. But nothing showing her being a vampire or anything else. This may be because of the way you turn vampires are not picked up by the nanobots in her body. This makes things simple for us at least."

"This is good then. It means I do not need to kill anyone." Fate let out a sigh of relief before standing up and stretching her body. Although she did not trust Shae, she did not feel any bad vibes from her as she does with other trinities. But this could only be because Shae only knew her as she is now and not when she was a normal human. If she was a normal human, she might have acted the same as the others. Fate turned to Jean and asked: "You ready?"

"Huh? Yeah…" Jean began to blush from her cheeks all the way to her ears and down her neck. After watching Ella being turned, she knew she was going to be making the same sounds. "Let's go to the other room..."

Fate shrugged and walked with Jean into the other room. Not long after the door was closed, Jean's voice could be heard. Shae blushed and shook her head. "If she was going to be that loud, what was the point of going into the other room?"

"Getting your blood sucked by Master is very addicting." Ella said casually as she sat down. She looked at Shae and asked: "Are you becoming a servant as well?"

"No, I will be forming a pact with her. Jean has her reasons to become a servant, whereas I only wish to help Jean and Fate. I do not wish for power, and the thought of being ordered to do things without so much as being able to reject doesn't sit well with me." Shae explained.

"Everyone makes their own choices well except for me. Haha... But you know what. I feel like everything that I was burdened with is now gone. I no longer worry about my future. But this could just be the outcome of becoming turned into a servant. I can feel Master's personality. She is kind and good to those around her. As long as you do not treat her badly, she will not treat you badly at all."

"What Ella said is right. I just want a life where I can be free of the criticism people show me. As someone who used to be a normal human, looked down upon because I did not have a system, I do not see why humans are seen as inferior. Each and every Trinity is born without a system and treated well. But as soon as they hit sixteen, if they are found to not have a system, they are tossed into the slums to survive. The slums are not a good place to be, especially for those rich kids who grew up pampered.

"Most will fall into the wrong crowds and end up on drugs and lead a life of crime. And if they are a girl, forget about it. They will be dragged away on the first day, and more than likely end up as a prostitute. Let's just say I am lucky I learned to fight from a young age. Or I wouldn't be standing here right now. Even Jessica, the girl I first turned, was living on the streets and had already suffered under the hands of men.

"Anyway, I just want to live free, make friends, and have a life without worry. Of course, that is still far away." Fate said as she sat down.

"I see. That is good to know. Where is Jean?" Shae asked. After hearing what Fate said, she felt more at ease around her.

"Oh, she had, umm... a small accident."

"Master, you're so mean! You said you wouldn't tell anyone!" Jean came running out of the room. Everyone turned to look at Jean, but their eyes did not fall on her face but the big wet stain on her pants.
