Chapter 28 - Dealing With An Annoyance Part One

Fate walked through the academy grounds with her hood off for once. Her beautiful face and blonde hair on full display. People who saw her had no idea who she was, which made Fate sneer. If she was trying to mask herself as she did before, people would be talking behind her back or throwing insults at her. She walked to her classroom door and could hear Lilth inside talking about how to defeat a certain kind of monster. "The tridlelash is a level 2 monster. They are very quick, and they like to hunt in packs of three. It is best to never fight one alone. In the next outing..."

Fate grabbed the door handle and slid it open. She was not quiet about it at all. This caused Lilth and everyone else to turn to look at her. Lilth's eyes landed on Fate. The girl in front of her had delicate features and pure white skin. Although dressed crudely, it did not hide her good looks. Lilth couldn't figure out who this person was. She had no recollection of any students who looked like this girl, so she put on a smile and asked: "May I help you?"

Ella, who was sitting at the back with the rest of her normal friends, covered her mouth as she smiled, seeing Fate walk in. Fate gave Lilth a confused expression and tilted her head to the side. "I am in your class, or did you forget Mrs. Lilth? Maybe you need to get your whip out and hit me again?"

Lilth eyes turned cold. She now felt disgusted in herself for being nice to this girl. "So it's just the failure. Finally decided to show your face. I am surprised you can even come with your arms all messed up. Get to your seat, and don't bother the rest who can actually use the information I am talking about."

Fate didn't say anything; she walked past Lilth and went to her normal seat that was at the back of the class. She sat down and put her head down on the desk as she always did. She was actually surprised Lilth didn't try to do anything to her. She thought she would get at least yelled at more than she did. She knew Lilth wouldn't touch her while she was on academy grounds. But thinking of how the leveling outing was coming up, she was sure Lilth planned something for that time. It was too bad she would be losing quite a few students that day. Fate told the Dean that she was only going to be taking out three students, but there were two more that did not deserve to be alive either.

Fate lifted her head and looked at two boys who were now isolated from the rest of the class and smiled. 'Derk, Reggie, I wonder how many [Status Points] I can get from eating your hearts? I guess I will need to prepare a lot of containers. The amount of blood I will be bringing back will be quite a bit.'

As the day went on, Fate had noticed many of the male students looking at her with gazes filled with bad intentions. To her, each one of them were nothing more than cattle she could use to hunt and fill her belly. She actually felt much more relaxed now in class and was not as worried about what would happen next. Before, she purposely hid her looks in order to not bring attention to herself, but now she could care less.

"Before you are all dismissed, I would like to introduce you to the new training instructor that will be taking care of your combat classes from now on. Mr. Moore, you can come in." Lilth blushed slightly as she watched the young man walk into the room. Aiden Moore, the lieutenant that was part of their training class last time, once again stood in front of the class, but this time he did so not as a helper but as an actual instructor.

"Hello, as Mrs. Lilth has said, I am Mr. Moore. I will be in charge of your combat training. We will have a training class every day from now on. Everyone is to attend this class no matter what. Your survival is dependent on this training." Aiden looked around the class. His eyes stopped on Fate, who had her head down. He could see her peeking out back at him from the cracks in her arms. He wondered if she remembered him or not. But he did notice she was wearing the clothes he bought her, which made him happy.

In fact, Fate did remember him and became very cautious since this was the man who took advantage of her when she needed to find her way back. Although she owed him a thank you, she also owed him a punch for touching her without permission. 'Humph! You should feel happy that I didn't bite you back then!' After giving a silent snort, Fate decided to just pretend she didn't know him.

The fewer people who were on to her, the better. She knew Aiden was a nice guy, a perverted one, but he was still a nice person. Even the clothes she was wearing right now came from him. Because she knew he was a good person, she did not have any plans to harm him in any way.

After Aiden finished his speech, Lilth dismissed the class. Fate stood up and could hear the girls around Ella whispering. "Ella, when are we going to pay that failure slut back?"

"Don't worry. I am planning something. I will let you know when the time comes." After saying this, she looked at Fate with a smile on her face before leaving.

Fate lowered her head in thought. 'I guess Ella already assumes I have things planned.' Fate put her hood up and walked towards the door. Lilth was still talking with Aiden, so Fate hoped to escape before he recognized her, if he hadn't already. She quickly left the classroom and began making her way down the hall.

Only when she was about to reach the front entrance did she slow down her steps. But as she reached for the door handle on the door to open it, a big hand grabbed it before her. "Are you not even going to say hi?"

Fate frowned, hearing the voice behind her. She turned her head slightly to see Aiden standing right behind her. She could feel his body heat as he leaned forward to hold the door closed. Fate glared at him as she said: "Hi, now can you let me leave?"

"Oh? Do you want to escape already? Even after I did so much for you? You can't even give me a little of your time?" Aiden said with a smile before leaning his head down close to her face. His breath brushing up against her ear, causing Fate to blush as he whispered: "Miss vamp… Guh!"

Aiden felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Fate elbowed him hard. She turned around and wanted to ask how he knew, but when she saw the others looking in their direction, she grabbed Aiden's hand and left the building, pulling him towards the pod station. Aiden rubbed his belly and followed along behind the girl, who was stomping as she walked. He could tell she was mad. But he wanted her to know more than anything that he was on her side.

Even though he wanted to say something, when he felt her soft hand holding his, he wanted this moment to last as long as possible. He knew Fate did not want to tell anyone about her having a system, but he also knew that she needed allies as well. Even though he was only a lieutenant, it did not mean he did not have any connections. He could help her as long as she allowed him to, or else he would need to stand in the shadows forever, only assisting her from the dark.

When they got to the pod station, which was normally empty, there were actually two people standing there waiting. Jean and Ella were both waiting for Fate to show up. But when they finally saw her walking towards them, they were shocked to see a handsome young man following behind her and what was more was that young man was holding hands with Fate! Ella leaned towards Jean and asked: "Is this our king?"

"I am not sure. We will have to wait and see… But if he is, Master has good taste." Jean replied. She found the young man behind her to be very appealing to the eye.

---

Lilth, who was still standing in the classroom in a daze, looking at the door that was left open, was very confused. She was just talking with the new combat trainer, trying to show him her good side but as soon as the failure walked by and left the room. The young man didn't let her finish what she was saying before completely running out on her while she was still talking. "What did that failure slut do? Just because she looks a little pretty when she is all cleaned up?"

Lilth eyes turned cold. "Just you wait until we are outside the academy! You will not be returning this time."

---

"Fate!" Both Jean and Ella called out. Seeing the two girls made Aiden confused. He knew both of them from last time and had heard about Jean. So he found it strange to see these two girls waiting for Fate.

"Get on the pod. We are going to my house first. You too, get the hell on!" Fate yelled as she pulled Aiden on as well. She wanted a place where they could talk with no ears and find out how this man knew her secret.

"Don't you think it is a little too soon for us to be introducing each other to our parents? We should take things slow. You know, go on a date. See a movie. Have our firs... Ow!" Aiden cried out after receiving a hard kick in the shin from Fate.

Aiden knelt down to rub his shin to only find a foot, step between his legs, and a cold voice coming from above: "One more word, and you will be holding something else besides your shin."
