Chapter 34 - Leaving The Past Behind

Fate laid on her back, looking up at her ceiling, lost in thought. 'Why am I getting so worked up over that guy? We hardly know each other...'

*Knock!* *Knock!*

Fate heard the knock and spoke without thinking. "Come in." She didn't even look at the door and only continued looking up at the ceiling. She did not know who walked in until she heard their voice.

"So this is the great Fate's bedroom. Much more plain than I had thought." Aiden walked in and looked around without any restraint. Although the room was lacking in decoration, Aiden could still feel a sense of Fate's personality within it.

Hearing Aiden's voice made Fate frown. She turned her head and glared at him. "What do you want?"

"Nothing much, just wanted to spend some time by my master's side since I am your dog." Aiden said with a smile and shamelessly sat on the bed next to Fate.

"You! what are you doing? Get off!" Fate yelled and tried to kick out at Aiden.

Aiden reacted quickly and caught her leg with his arm. He could tell she used next to no strength, which meant she cared enough about him to not want to hurt him. Aiden smiled and let go of her leg. He then leaned forward and placed an arm on the other side of her and brought his face close to hers. Fate looked at the handsome face closing in towards hers, and her mind went completely blank. She was unsure of what she should do. She did not know if she should push him away or what. But seeing his handsome face getting closer and closer, Fate closed her eyes. She decided to just let things happen!

Seeing her close her eyes and freeze in place made Aiden chuckle as he pushed his lips against hers. This was not like their first kiss, which was done on accident. This was Aiden wanting to kiss the beautiful girl he had decided to court. He was actually glad that she had closed her eyes because his cheeks were bright red at this time.

As for Fate, who closed her eyes, felt Aiden's lips land on hers, her heart sped up, and her face began to burn. But she did not hate it. But what surprised her was that Aiden pushed his tongue on her lips, causing her to reflexively open her mouth to be invaded by his tongue. A whole new sensation swept over her body, and her mind went completely blank. Before she knew it, she was already kissing him back, and her arms were already wrapped around his neck.

"Ahhh! Master is so daring!" Ella squealed in almost a whisper. Her cheeks were flushed red as she watched the scene unfold in front of them.

"Master is just not honest with her feelings. If our King didn't initiate the kiss, she would never have kissed him." Jean analyzed the situation. She knew Fate did not understand her own feelings very well.

"If he tries to go any further, we will beat him senseless..." Kacey's eyes were locked onto Aiden's hands.

"Mmm... I agree with Kacey. If he moves his hands, we will beat him." Jessica fully agreed with Kacey's plan. Jean and Ella also nodded their heads.

The girls' voices brought Fate back to her senses, causing her to feel extremely embarrassed. She pushed off from Aiden breaking their kiss. Aiden did not try to continue and sat up. Fate quickly rolled over, trying to comprehend why she let him kiss her. Aiden smiled, seeing her wordlessly rollover. He looked over at the door to see the four pairs of peeping eyes through the crack of the door and shook his head. He shifted his body and laid down next to Fate, who was still quiet. "I apologize for kissing you so suddenly."

Fate heard his words and blushed. After thinking about it for a few seconds, she shook her head and said: "It's fine. Can you go and help finish packing up? I need a few minutes to collect my thoughts."

She truly did need to collect her thoughts. Aiden did not say any more. He got up and headed out of the room, closing the door behind him. When the door clicked closed, only then did Fate roll back over onto her back, looking up at the ceiling again. 'I do not have time for these kinds of things. I should probably distance myself from him a bit... This will be hard since he is my instructor in combat. I won't be able to get away from him easily. But...' Fate stopped her thoughts, touching her lips that still held the heat from when Aiden kissed her and looked at the closed door, sighing. 'If I let him kiss me, I guess that means I like him? Forget it! I need to deal with too much at this time.'

As Fate continued lying there trying to figure out what her next plan of action was when another knock came at her door.

*Knock!* *Knock!*

Fate sighed, got up, and walked to the door, opening it. "Master." Seeing that it was Jessica, Fate let out another sigh. "What's wrong?"

"We are all set to move." Jessica replied.

"Alright, let's get going then." Fate turned and looked at the room she had been living in for sixteen years and slowly walked out. She was not taking anything from the room. She already had new clothes, and the stuff that was there was not worth even taking.

Seeing her mother with a bag in her hand, Fate walked over and took it from her. "Mom, did you get everything you wanted?"

"Mmm... I only have two bags. Some clothes and some keepsakes." Kacey replied.

"I will get you more things in the future." Fate smiled and took Kacey's hand walking towards the front door. Aiden stood at the door and reached out for the bag in her hand. Fate didn't reject his kindness and handed it over. She then blushed slightly, lowering her head as she said: "Thanks... About earlier... I, umm..."

"We can talk about it later when you are ready. For now, let's get out of the slums." Aiden could tell Fate was still unsure about her own feelings. He did not want Fate, who seemed to have gotten caught up in the moment, to make a hasty decision even if it was good for him. He wanted her to be sure of her own feelings. The kiss he gave her earlier was his way of expressing his own feelings to her.

Fate felt relieved hearing Aiden say this. She knew she did not hate Aiden, and he had helped her a lot. But she was unsure about how she felt about Aiden and did not want to jump into anything just because they kissed, whether she accepted the kiss or not. Fate lifted her head, and for the first time since Aiden had met Fate, the smile he wished he could have turned towards him was shining brightly as the sun. Aiden couldn't help but get lost in her beautiful smile. "Then we will talk then... Just remember until then, your still my dog, no wagging your tail to other girls."

After saying her words, Fate pulled her mother along as she made her way out the door with blushed cheeks. The other girls watched with smiles on their faces seeing their master being a little bit more honest. Fate made her way to the sidewalk and turned to look at the house that was run down. The others gathered behind her and looked at the house as well. "It has been my home for so long, and this place has many memories, good and bad. But from this day forward, my mother and I will be starting anew."

Fate flipped her hand, and a ball of fire began to form in her hand. It grew bigger and bigger, looking like a miniature sun. When it was about the size of her head, Fate tossed the fireball at the house causing it to explode. The flames scattered all over the house, quickly catching it on fire. The group stood there and watched as the house became engulfed in flames. The light of the fire flickered in Fate's eyes. "From this moment on, our past will be left in the past, and we will only deal with the issues of the future. Let's go."

Fate turned and walked towards the pod station without a word. Her story was just getting started, and she had many things she had to accomplish. Her first goal was leveling up and getting as strong as possible. Only then would she be able to stand tall and unafraid of those who look down at her. Allowing her to take revenge on those who did her and her mother wrong.

Aiden paused his steps and turned back to look at the burning house one last time. "Since I have made my choice, I will follow her until the day she either accepts me or pushes me away." He brought his fingers to his lips and smiled. "At least I know she does not hate me for the time being."
