Chapter 35 - A New Home

After leaving the pod station, the sun had already set, and the stars had come out. Fate and her group walked up to the gate of a small building. The guard at the gate bowed his head when he saw Ella walking up. "Miss Stranson, you are later than usual today."

"I was out helping some friends. I will be having some people stay with me from now on. Please make some IDs for them. I need three in total." Ella answered with a smile.

The guard looked at the people who had bags in their hands and frowned. "Miss Ella, it is not that I do not want to listen to your orders but your father..."

"Her father what?" Fate's gaze fell on the guard as she released her {Charm} to its max. The guard suddenly felt the girl in front of him was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. "Your saying Ella, who is like my sister, is not allowed to have her own family over?"

"No, not at all! Hold on and give me a few minutes. I will make each of you an Id now." The guard didn't even wait for an answer before running back into the guard post and went right to work.

Fate sneered. She hated having to use {Charm} due to the weird gazes she got from the people affected by it. Thinking on this, Fate snuck a peek to her side to see Aiden's reaction, but he showed no signs of being affected by it. Fate inwardly smiled, knowing this.

"Master is amazing as always." Ella said as she walked up to Fate and hugged her arm.

Fate laughed as she said: "This is from a girl who tried to kill me."

"Master, I was not in my right mind then! Please don't hate me!" Ella's eyes began to water up at the thought of her master hating her.

Fate shook her head and flicked Ella's forehead with her finger. "You are one of my people now, so I would never hate you."

Ella smiled brightly and hugged Fate's arm tighter. "Alright enough, stop hanging on, Master. You will make our king jealous." Jessica walked over and pulled Ella away.

Fate cheeks blushed slightly, but she did not say anything to denounce Jessica's words. Mainly because she did not know how she felt, and after Aiden kissed her, she did not want to reject him just yet until she did know how she felt about him.

"Here you go, miss." The guard came out with not three but five passes. "If there is anything, please let me know. I will do whatever I can to help you."

"Thanks. This will be all for now." Fate gave a smile and held the badges in her hand before saying goodbye and walking past the gate. As she did, she retracted her {Charm}.

The guard gazed at Fate's departing back with hazed eyes that slowly became clear. But even after becoming clear-minded, Fate's {Charm} still had a lingering effect. "That girl was very beautiful if only I was a few years younger." Letting out a sigh, he looked around, seemingly confused. "Now, what was I doing..."

Fate and her group went up to Ella's apartment. The apartment was very big and took up half of the floor. "Very nice."

"My father owns the building, and even though this is not the nicest apartment, it is still one of the best." Ella replied as she walked in front of everyone. "There are five more bedrooms besides my own. Each room has its own bathroom. There is also a large kitchen, laundry, living room, and balcony. Please make yourselves at home."

"I like it. Mom, what do you think?" Fate asked.

Kacey looked around the place, and tears began to well up in her eyes. "All these years, you had to be stuck in the slums where anything could happen. If you did not learn to fight, I am sure you would have ended up on a street corner like the rest of the girls in the slums. All these years, due to that woman's ability, you were made to suffer. Now for you to be able to live in such a nice place, how could I not like it?"

Fate's eyes became watery as well. She walked over and hugged her mother. "Mother, don't cry. You were under the influence of a spell. As a normal human, you could not resist. I know it was not your fault."

Jessica, Jean, Ella, and Aiden all stood in silence allowing the two time to bond. After a few minutes, Fate and Kacey calmed down and wiped the tears from their eyes. Fate had no idea what it must have felt like to be controlled to harm the one she cared about the most. Although she had some hatred for her mother before, now, she just wanted her mother to have a better life. Whether she was her servant now or not, Fate did not plan to treat Kacey in such a way.

"After choosing rooms, we need to have a meeting. Ella, I need to explain to you what your job will be for the time being." Fate finally got to the matters at hand. Her gaze landed on Aiden. "How long do you plan to hang around?"

"Hmm? Where you go, I go. There are five extra rooms and five of us, so I will take one of the rooms." Aiden said with a smile.

Fate frowned and decided to not talk to this man anymore. Out of everyone here, he was the only one who would never listen to her, so she decided not to deal with him. She turned and stomped off, picking one of the empty rooms. Aiden smiled and followed behind her, and took the room next to hers.

Ella leaned in close to Jean and whispered: "It seems they are getting along well after that kiss."

"At least for now. But if he hurts Master, we will need to harvest his blood and heart to ease Master's pain." Jean's eyes glowed slightly. She had no issues with Aiden. He seemed to be perfect for their master, but if he did end up hurting her. She would hunt him down and drain his entire body of his blood.

"Don't be rash. Even if they do fight, it is all part of what comes from a relationship. Only act if he truly hurts master." Ella reminded. Her standing as Fate's servant was higher than Jean's giving her the right to order Jean around.

"I understand." Jean gave a nod before saying: "I will go store the blood."

"Ahh! I forgot we need to clean out the fridge. I will help." Ella said and followed after Jean.

While Jessica and Kacey were arranging their things in their rooms, Aiden walked out of his room and next door to Fate's room. He knocked lightly on the open door and walked inside. "How does it feel to start a whole new life?"

Fate turned to see Aiden in her room and frowned. "I didn't say you could enter."

"There is a saying that says silence is a form of acknowledgment. I knocked, and you did not answer, so I took it as you saying come in." Aiden replied.

Fate rolled her eyes but did not refute his words. Instead, she sat on the bed and looked around the large room. She went quiet for a minute before finally speaking. "It feels nice. Being able to control my own future. Before, I was seen as nothing more than a useless human. A normal human who could not even gain a system and become a trinity. But what is the point of being a trinity? Trinities are all human the day they are born unless they are born between a human and a race from another planet. There are many such humans. But think about it. You and I were both born humans.

"We are born with no system. Born and raised by our trinity parents. But when the fateful day arrives, the fate of our lives is all decided based on whether or not we can gain a system or not. Your life, your sister's life, my life, each one of us is different, but due to how things turned out, our lives varied in many ways. Kids who grow up in prominent families are treated like treasures for sixteen years, and then the day they turn sixteen, their life can fall to ruins. They will end up being tossed into the slums as some kind of piece of trash. Our current way of thinking is wrong. Why discard your own flesh and blood just because they are not a trinity? Why treat humans, which we all are, as garbage just because we do not have an ability? None of this ever made sense to me.

"Trinities rely on their abilities to show dominance. Strength and power mean everything. Although those with a system call themselves trinities due to the name of the system itself, it should not allow them to do as they please. They are nothing more than humans with special abilities in my eyes. Well... Now, they are just food in my eyes. I just hope my future will not be as hard." Fate stood up and grabbed the bag with the clothes she bought and dumped it out onto the bed. A pair of black panties with a kitty cat on it fluttered down and unfolded, revealing the cheeky smile on the cat's face.

Aiden saw the panties and smiled. He walked up to Fate, who had her back turned towards him, and wrapped her arms around her, causing Fate to freeze. He leaned down and whispered into her ear. "I will do whatever I can to help you. If you need me to do anything, just ask. From this day forth, I will be at your side as long as you allow it."

After saying this, he released Fate from his embrace and walked out of the room. Fate stood there staring at her bed, her cheeks burning hot. After a few moments, her lips curled up slightly. To her, at this time, it felt nice to have someone she could rely on that was not under her control. She just hoped his words were not empty promises... 'I will give it some time and see if he is true to his words or not.'
