Chapter 29 - Dealing With An Annoyance Part Two

Aiden looked at the foot that had stepped between his legs. It was small compared to his own, and the ankle that was slightly visible under the hem of Fate's jeans was snow white. He reached down and grabbed Fate's ankle and placed it on his knee. His actions completely threw Fate off and almost made her lose her balance. "You! What are you doing!?"

"Hmmm? I thought you wanted me to admire your ankle, so I was just doing what you..."

"Why the hell would I want you to admire my ankle!? Let go!" Fate blushed and was really lost as to what to do. She had never met anyone so thick-skinned before!

Seeing the two's interaction, Ella leaned towards Jean and whispered: "Master is flirting with him."

"Mmm… she is definitely flirting with him." Jean agreed.

Although the two were whispering, their words still entered Fate's and Aiden's ears as clear as day. "I am not!" Fate yelled out as she quickly yanked her foot back and crossed her arms across her chest. Her cheeks were burning red. She could only turn her head away from everyone to hide her embarrassment.

Aiden stood up with a grin on his face. He found Fate's reaction to be extremely cute. Fate, on the other hand, had many thoughts going through her head. 'Should I suck him dry and show him what happens when you mess with a vampire? No, no… If I did that, he would…' Her thoughts were making her blush even more. Luckily the Pod doors opened up when they reached the slums. Fate quickly walked out of the Pod, trying to make as much space as possible between her and Aiden. But even this action looked cute in the eyes of those who had witnessed everything. After making some space, Fate turned around and said: "Jean, Ella, if someone talks to you, ignore them. Otherwise, we will need to clean up a mess. The slums are not a place you want to hang around on the streets for too long. If you do, you are just asking to be dragged into a back alley."

"Got it!" Ella answered. She hurried to stand by Fate's side.

"Understood." Jean ran over to join the other two.

But as Fate went to walk forward, she thought of something and frowned. 'What if he tries to escape… Then I wouldn't be able to ask how he knows anything.' Letting out a sigh and furrowing her brows, she turned and walked over to Aiden, looked at him, brought her foot back, and kicked forward once more.

"Ow! What did I do!?" Aiden yelled out. He went to rub his shin once again, but his hand was caught by Fate, who said nothing and pulled him along with her.

"Master can't be honest with her feelings." Ella whispered to Jean.

"It seems so. But at least we know who our king is." And the two whispering back and forth were taking her actions the wrong way. Instead of annoyance, they were seeing it as young love.

Aiden limped as he allowed Fate to pull him along. Looking at the girl's small back that stomped forward made him smile. He now understood that he looked at this girl as more than just a little sister that he wanted to protect. He felt something more for her and wanted to get to know more about her.

The group of four reached Fate's home quickly and were currently standing in front of the entrance. Fate turned and coldly looked at Aiden: "Do not say anything stupid."

"Mmm… I won't." Aiden nodded his head and agreed. He looked at the little hand that was still holding his and wondered if she even realized that if they walked in like this, they would be misunderstood, not that he cared.

Fate sighed and opened the door. To see Jessica and Kacey sitting on the couch inside. Jessica was the first to jump up and yell out: "Master!"

Kacey also stood up, smiled, and asked: "How was the academy to… Who is this?" Kacey's eyes landed on Fate's hand, which was holding the young man's hand next to her. Fate had ordered her to act as her mother from now on, so she was going to do just that.

Fate turned and went to raise her hand, and only then did she realize she was still holding Aiden's hand. She quickly shook her hand loose and went to go introduce him when Aiden suddenly stepped forward and said: "It is good to meet you. You must be my Fate's beautiful mother. My name is Aiden Moore, your new son in la…. Ow!"

"What the hell are you saying!?" Fate yelled out after kicking Aiden ruthlessly. Jean and Ella, who were standing behind them, both giggled.

"Master, if he is bothering you, I can just kill him." Jessica offered, her eyes turning red as she took a step forward.

"No, you can't… I have to ask him some questions, and I also owe him." Fate felt defeated. If it was as simple as just killing him, she would have done so, but she needed him alive for now. Depending on his answer later would depend if she took action against him. Fate was not ruthless to those who helped her. Although she found this man annoying, she did not hate him. But since he knew of her real identity, she couldn't let him roam around free at this time. At least not until he had signed a pact with her. If he refused, she would need to then think about how to deal with him.

Jessica snorted and sat down in a chair, not paying attention to Aiden anymore. Fate sighed and began introducing everyone. "Mom, Jessica, this here is Aiden, an instructor at the academy, and these two are now your sisters, Ella and Jean. We talk more later about our future plans, but first, I need to ask you, Aiden, something first."

Aiden smiled and walked to the couch and sat down, making himself right at home. Fate gritted her teeth, wondering how shameless a person could be. 'Did I say you could sit? Why are you acting like this is your own house!?' Fate looked at Aiden's short brown hair and yellow eyes and frowned. His fox ears and fox tail made Fate remember something she read a long time ago about the real fox species. 'Foxes are sneaky animals that like to play tricks.' This description really fit Aiden. He was a shameless sly fox!

"Ask me anything you want." Aiden spoke up, seeing how Fate was standing there in a daze.

Frowning, Fate finally asked: "How do you know what I am?"

"This, well, that is easy. When you were killing slithers, you spoke out loud without much care for your surroundings. You may have looked around a few times, but if you can not spot those who are hiding, then you really should keep your thoughts in your head." Aiden explained and then asked. "My guess is that you have a special kind of system, right? One that differs from everyone else's."

"Wait… When I first saw you, you originally said..." Fate's mind was turning, and then something popped into her mind. "Did you watch me bathe!?"

Aiden quickly shook his head furiously. As he hurriedly began to defend himself. "No! No! Of course, not! How could I do something so shameless as to watch a girl lying in a stream bathing? What kind of person do you take me for!?"

"You did! You fucking pervert!" Fate yelled out and threw a punch at Aiden. Aiden didn't even have time to dodge when he felt her fist hit him in the eye. The next thing he knew was he was lying on the couch with Fate on top of him, punching him with all she had.

"Wait, listen to me! Ow! Damn, your punches hurt! Can you stop for just a second!?" Fate was so mad and embarrassed that she did want to listen to a thing Aiden had to say. She was just blindly hitting the man who was peeping at her bathing!

"Ow! Stop already!" Aiden's eyes were both black and blue. He couldn't understand why she was only aiming for his eyes! He reached up and grabbed both her wrist, but his actions caused Fate, who wasn't expecting him to do so, to fall forward!

"Ahh! Master is so daring!" Ella suddenly yelled out, her cheeks turning red.

"I never thought my daughter was so forceful." Kacey said, covering the smile on her face trying not to laugh.

Jessica and Jean both were bushing as they stared at the scene in front of them in shock. Aiden was lying flat on his back, his eyes black and blue but still wide open despite the swelling, staring up into the sky blue eyes of the girl whose face was right in front of his. Fate's mind at this time was blank. She was staring down into Aiden's eyes, trying to understand what kind of situation she was in. Her teeth hurt, and her lips felt as if they were pressing against something slightly wet yet warm and soft. After a few seconds, she quickly pushed her body up as she sat there on top of Aiden, trying to figure out what to do next. Her brows furrowed as she looked back down at Aiden. 'This is his fault! If he just let me finish hitting him, I wouldn't have lost my… my…. My first kiss!'

"Why did you grab my hands, you bastard!" Fate yelled out.

Aiden really wanted to cry. How was he to know she would lose her balance!? He just wanted her to stop hitting him. But knowing if he tried to defend himself, he may be in for another beating. He could only give in and apologize. "I'm sorry, next time, I will let you beat me to death!"

"Beat you to death!? I only hit you a few times!" Fate huffed. Her whole face was now red all the way down to her neck.

'A few times!? But you threw like thirty punches!' Aiden finally decided to let a few tears roll down his cheeks. He felt very aggrieved.
