Hearing everything that Zyxel must have gone through all those years ago, made her want to cry. 'They must have hated themselves for what they had become.'
<
<
'That must have been awful for them to have to experience.' Trinity couldn't even imagine what it must have felt like to experience what Zyxel had lived through. Was there ever a time where Zyxel and Amara used to get along?
She closed her eyes tight, wishing she would have let Zyxel explain all this back before she had attempted to kill herself, in order to break their bond. Then none of this would have happened if it hadn't been for her unwillingness to open up her own mind and listen.
Trinity didn't know what else to say. She now understood why Zyxel had seemed so annoyed and angry at all of her questions because of what humanity had forgotten over the years. It was due to humanity that caused them to become deformed in the first place. How Zyxel could even stand to be linked to her at all, she didn't understand.
Suddenly, she jerked back open her eyes. Something about the story didn't quite make sense yet. Something else was missing. 'Zyxel once mentioned to me, that he had willingly tortured humans in the past. And Amara claimed that demons have an insatiable hunger that they cannot control. Which is true, and where does either of those fit into your story?'
Lucifer took a deep breath and let it out slowly. <
<
<
'Why would they be forced to leave hell?' Trinity asked, confused.
<
Trinity was too shocked to even speak. She looked down, not sure what to say. 'I wish that I had known. Why aren't we taught about any of this? Humans had to have known at one point in time! When Zyxel first came to Earth, he was annoyed anytime that he learned about how much humanity had forgotten.'
Lucifer frowned. <
<
Trinity reflected back on when she and Zyxel had been sitting at the edge of the cliff. He had first brought up her dietary food option as a first example when he was trying to compare what was familiar to her, versus things that were out of his control, that he was dependent on for survival. At first, she just thought that the world being toxic to him was the only reason. Now it made a bit more sense to her, why he brought up the food comparison first. And when he did try explaining the rest to her, she had refused to listen to what he had to say.
'Why didn't he just explain this all to me from the beginning instead of trying to hide it?' she couldn't help but ask.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow at her question. The answer was obvious to him, but he could only assume that Trinity was still having a hard time mentally processing everything. <
Trinity nodded in understanding. 'It is a lot to take in, that's for sure. And you're right. I don't think I would have been ready to hear this yet at the time, or else I wouldn't have rejected him when he attempted to explain it to me before.' She looked down in regret over her actions towards him.
<
In an instant, Lucifer's eyes darted off in alarm at something far off in the distance, that was closing in quick. <
Trinity's eyes widened at his words. 'Wait! What do you-?' But it was too late. Lucifer had already sent her spirit back to her body.
