Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Wolves

"Let me tell you about who you are, Raven," the man said. "You are no Alpha, and you don't have a pack. You are not what you think you are. You are more than this. Open your eyes and see the truth. You are not what you are! You are our-"

Bang!

I saw right through my eyes the blood and brain splattered in front of me when a gunshot hit the older man's head. Some of the blood came to my face. I even saw the man's eyes begging me as if he had a lot of words to say to me.

"What the hell? Why did you kill him?!" I angrily asked one of my warriors.

"He is dangerous, Alpha," one of them said before walking closer to the dead body, pulling something from under the table, and showing me the gun. "If I weren't fast enough, you would probably be injured by now."

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath. I touched my temple, and I felt sweat all over it. I saw it was already four in the morning on the wall clock, so I decided to get off the bed and run. That dream and that man's eyes always haunt me whenever I sleep.

Ugh.

Damn it.

What the hell is wrong with him? I was going to ask him about my parents' killer, yet he told me information that I didn't understand.

I decided to wash my face and wear some running shoes. I run to blow some steam, especially since the dream made me feel uneasy.

"Good morning, Alpha."

My packmates greeted me, who was already awake and sipping their coffee.

"Morning," I smiled at them.

"Are you going for a run?" one of the old she-wolves asked me.

"Yeah," I answered her before opening the door. "So I'll see you all later," I wave to them goodbye before leaving the packhouse and starting to run.

In the beginning, the Moon Goddess Selene, a titan, created the most feared creatures using Skoll's spirit, the son of Fenrir, the famous and legendary celestial wolf beast, and her creations became werewolves.

These wolves have a variety of their classes and have their clans.

One is the Lycans, who can multiply their race by biting humans and infecting them with their venomous saliva because it is rare for them to mate to reproduce. Lycans can stand using their back feet almost the same as kangaroos except for their features; they have furs, claws, and a face of a rabid wolf. They usually follow one leader and don't live in packs. They are the kind with a highly aggressive side and are hot-tempered. Though they can incarnate human form and be able to mingle with humans like an ordinary person, they are absolute man-eater kind of werewolves.

The second clan is the Isaurians, they are the natural born wolves and can stand on their four paws just like the average wolf, but the difference is their size. They are much bigger than the normal ones. They are the class of werewolves living in a pack and led by an Alpha and Luna. They don't eat human flesh; instead, they feast on animal flesh. And just like lycans, they also have their human form and blend in the human world; they are less aggressive.

And lastly, the Elites are the almost extinct kind. They are half vampires and half werewolves. They are white or black-furred werewolves. They are much more like Isaurians, except they bore an extreme power. A power that prevented the Lycans and Isaurians from having a war. Mostly they are neutral and do not take sides with any of them. The two races, for dominance, hunt them down. To avoid this, they hide their scents when they're in their human shape.

I belong to the race of Elites. All I remember is many of our packs still existed back then, but a group of werewolves ambushed us. They want to kill us because they're probably sick of our existence.

That was during my birthday. They chose the right time when we were least prepared. My parents didn't suspect that they would attack us at that time, so they succeeded. They managed to kill my mother, an elite, and my father, an Isaurian. They all killed the rest of the pack, loyal to my parents.

I escaped that ambush.

No, my mother let me escape along with her trusted right hand.

But as we were trying to escape, I saw a boy probably older than me with two red eyes feasting on my mother's dead body.

Until now, those red eyes still haunt me whenever I close my eyes. I can't just forget it, even if I want to when those eyes belonged to the boy who killed my parents. I loathed him to the core. I'm also anticipating the day when I will meet him again.

Many years have passed since I did a thorough training. I honed every skill I knew to prepare myself for our subsequent encounter.

I was sixteen when I finally shifted and eventually got my Alpha title to the pack I'm in. Even though it's against the law that women can not become an Alpha, I still don't care about this matter. Female wolves are called Luna, and they must always rule just right next to the Alpha. Females are weak, and their primary purpose is to conceive and give birth to the Alpha's children.

That fucking rules! I will never follow those! We, females, can also do what Alpha does. Maybe the person who made that rule is probably blind. And stupid, He pisses me off.

One of my members suggested that I should make a fake male name that I would use to hide my identity. I disagreed with him at first, but eventually, I decided. After creating my male persona, I become Alpha Claw. It didn't take long for the other packs to fear my name. They don't know that the Alpha of Dark Black Mystique Pack was a girl.

My new pack was my most significant concern, and I love them because they are my family. I vowed to protect and take care of them so that no one would touch them. They will face me first before laying a finger on my people, and I will be their guest.

My phone suddenly rang, cutting me from reminiscing the past.

"Oh, what's the news, Stacey?" I asked the person behind the phone.

"Apart from Alpha Janus' father and the other files I sent to your Email, I have no other lead, Raven, to those who killed your parents."

"Ugh! Again? Okay, thanks for your help. I appreciated it," I said before putting down my cell phone.

When you want to find someone, but they don't want you to find them, it makes my blood boil in anger. Whoever did that murder is good at hiding and keeping their names secret. But this can't stop me from looking for them.

Whatever I do, I will let them taste my vengeance. I will make them pay tenfold for what they did to my family. Especially that red-eyed boy, I will tear and grind him into pieces.

"Someone is pissed," Blanch said, who suddenly entered my office.

I sighed.

"I told you to knock many times, Blanch. You can't just dance your way in here," I scolded him before looking at him and leaning back in my swivel chair.

"Nah! You can't command me, Raven," she said while laughing and sat down in the chair in front of my desk. "Tell me why my scary little Alpha is pissed?"

"Stacey's investigation of Alpha Janus has ended," I responded to his question.

Blanch knows about me investigating the incident when they ambushed our pack that night. She's also aware that I desperately seek the person's name behind all that murder.

If only that man wasn't killed…
