Her eyes went wide. 'Lucifer, as in the Devil?' she screamed in her own mind. She wanted to back away from him, but his wings were still keeping her trapped.
Lucifer gave a slight laugh as his dark blue eyes twinkled at her in amusement. <
'Did he read my mind, or just know what I must have been thinking?'
Lucifer grinned. Removing his hand from her cheek, he tapped his temple with his index finger. <
Realization and panic filled her mind. 'Oh crap!' she thought. Her mind reflected back on all the times when Zyxel had spoken a reply to her from something she had been thinking while they were talking, because she had been too reluctant to say it out loud. She had just assumed that he was good at guessing what it was that she was thinking.
Laughter rang in her mind, projected from Lucifer.
'Why did you bring me here?' she asked in her mind, while attempting to direct her thoughts in a specific direction, towards him. At the same time, she had backed up further into his wings, testing if he might loosen up his grip around her, if he was distracted in conversation. 'Why would I help you?'
Lucifer smirked at her attempts to escape his wings. <
'My genetics?' she asked. Was he mocking her because she was a human? Trinity narrowed her eyes at Lucifer in anger, as she focused her thoughts harder at him. 'What does my genetics have to do with anything? Stop avoiding the question and answer my questions! Why did you bring me here, and why would you think I would want to help you?'
<
'I don't want anything from you! Except for you to send me back to Earth and get me out of here!'
Lucifer chuckled in her mind. <
Trinity cowered and shut her eyes tight, only to hear more laughter ringing in her mind.
<>
Trinity wasn't sure what to believe, but she didn't trust him. Not only was he Lucifer the Devil, but he was also Lucifer the Arch-Angel. And at the moment, she didn't trust either of those options right now.
Reopening her eyes, she spoke in her mind. 'Answer my questions. I will not ask again.'
Lucifer grinned. <
Trinity's eyes went wide at hearing this, and she froze momentarily in fear. 'How do you know about the link?'
She didn't understand how Lucifer could possibly know of the link, let alone know how to fix it. That information was supposed to be a secret that was hidden from the angels!
'Even if you already know about it, why would you even agree to help me fix it? Not to mention,' she waved her hand at his double pearlescent white wings. 'Aren't you and Amara on the same side here? Why are you wanting to drag her back here? Why bring me here at all? If you want to bring her back here, why can't you just bring her back here yourself? If you pulled me through whatever rift was created, surely you could leave as well!'
Lucifer's laughter increased in her mind. <
Trinity immediately looked down with guilt. This is exactly how Zyxel got so upset with her before, by asking too many annoying questions at once.
<> He grinned in amusement.
Trinity wasn't sure what to think, but she agreed to answer his question. 'Lucifer was once an Arch-Angel who hated humanity so he disobeyed God and fell from grace and became the Devil. He makes deals for innocent souls to torment and burns them in hell. Was that a short enough version for you?'
Lucifer laughed at her brazen comment. <
Trinity pointed at Lucifer's wings. 'For starters, your wings are definitely white, and not black or demon red like Zyxel's. Which means that you are the Arch-Angel who disobeyed God and fell from grace, and your twin brother is the Devil. You apparently do not burn souls in hell, although by this conversation alone, I would assume that you do like to make deals though. You are essentially wanting to make a deal with me right now. I help you, and in exchange you will help me.'
Lucifer chuckled softly. <
Trinity didn't understand the question. 'Well, you can't be God, if that's what you're insinuating here!'
Lucifer let out a booming laugh that echoed throughout her mind. He lifted up her chin delicately with his finger. <
A chill passed through Trinity's spine as she watched Lucifer. Not only was he claiming to not be an angel, he was actually trying to insinuate that he might possibly be a god! Was that even possible? Not to mention the bone chilling feeling she got when he looked at her just now.
After a while, he shook his head. <
Trinity was growing annoyed. 'If we're wasting time by talking, then stop with the riddles and just tell me!'
<
Trinity looked around, but something didn't add up. 'You mentioned that this place was created. According to Amara, angels have the power to create, and demons have the power to destroy. Why would an angel, or a god, create this dimension that was designed for the sole purpose to contain angelic and godly energy, only for that person to end up getting stuck here himself? Not to mention the fact that if angels were capable of summoning a human spirit here, why has no one here done that before? You, yourself, had faded into nothing without feeding on, whatever it was that you fed on from me.'
<
Trinity narrowed her eyes at him in anger, but she knew he was right. 'Fine! Yes, I am finding it difficult to think that everything I have ever known to be true is not what it seems! Are you happy now?' she grumbled the last bit in annoyance.
Lucifer laughed again in her mind. <
Surveying the emptiness around, Trinity debated about the question. 'So, this place was created, while at the same time being destroyed into nothing?' she asked, not sure how that would even be possible.
Lucifer nodded. <
Trinity was having trouble trying to process everything he was telling her. After a while, she finally nodded in understanding. 'Ok, that does make a little bit of sense. So you and your brother made this place, and that's why you want my help with getting Amara back in the void. My question is how exactly am I supposed to help with that? And finally, how exactly are you planning to help me with Zyxel?'
