Chereads / Crazy- A Cedric Diggory Fanfic / Chapter 20 - The Graveyard

Chapter 20 - The Graveyard

(A/N: Get ready.)

Cedric's POV

A harsh cold wind blew through the maze again, the world a blur around me. I saw the cup, clear as ever. I wanted to grab it, take it for myself, but something pulled me back.

Harry saved me, I can't just take it.

"Go! Take it, you saved me!" I yelled, lightly shoving Harry towards the cup. He looked around as if an answer would be right in front of him as panic filled his eyes.

He finally made a decision and looked towards me.

"Together," he asserted, "on three." I got into position and looked for the signal from Harry. "One, two three!"

We touched the glowing cup in sync, and a bright spinning light surrounded us. I felt like I was falling into an endless pit of flashing lights until we fell to the ground with a thud.

I stood up and looked at my surroundings, unaware of where I was. I saw large lichen covered graves stones around me as an ominous wind blew around us. It was completely silent.

Dark grey clouds covered the sky completely, blocking out any kind of light that could even appear. I saw Harry standing up next to me, looking awfully baffled at what has just happened.

"You ok?" I asked, concerned for the young boy.

"Yeah, you?" he replied. I started to take a closer look at everything around me, and confusion started to rush through my mind.

"Where are we?" I inquired.

"I've been here before." Harry answered. I carefully walked back over to the cup, and let out a small laugh and smile.

"It's a portkey." I breathed.

Sweat was dripping down my face as well as a small amount of blood from previous events.

"Harry the cup is a portkey!" I announced. Harry's face went a sickly pale as he looked over at me.

"I've been here before in a dream. Cedric, we have to get back to the cup! Now!" he insisted, beginning to walk to the trophy.

"What are you talking about?"

Harry began to grasp his head, letting out cries of pain. It must be his scar.

"Get back to the cup!" he yelled. As I was about to head back to the maze through the portkey, I noticed a rustling sound not too far away.

A figure walked out of the tangled vines and bushes. It was a rather ugly looking man, his teeth bucked and pointed and small whiskers came from his face. His hands were close to him, and he looked almost like a rat. He was holding something in his arm, but I couldn't make out what it was.

I saw him coming closer, closer.

"Who are you, what do you want?" I yelled in an attempt to protect the young teen. My wand was drawn as I shakily pointed it at the man. "Kill the spare!" a wheezy voice shrieked. My body froze.

The who? Is he talking about me? I can't die! I love Allison, I promised her I'd be ok. This can't happen.

Within a matter of seconds the man pointed his wand at me.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!"

My body went into complete shock, words unable to form from my mouth. A bright green flashing light headed straight towards me.

I can't move.

My body went limp, and I fell to the ground paralyzed.

This can't be the end. I can't leave Allison.

I couldn't believe I thought that lie that Cleo told me was true. I couldn't believe that I hurt Allison. Nothing seemed true. Her teary hazel eyes were engraved in my brain as I felt my eyes begin to close.

Goodbye, Allison. I will always be crazy about you.

Allison's POV

I sat there in the stands, waiting for Cedric to return. My eyes were lazily focused on the maze. After months of stress on both our parts, I wanted it to be over.

I heard a loud cheer erupt from the crowd and went out of my daydream. I saw Harry and Cedric exiting the maze and I stood up, clapping my hands and cheering loudly. I ran down the stairs to congratulate him, when I heard the cheering die down.

What was happening?

Worried, I ran out onto the field to see Harry crying over Cedric. My heart stopped completely. A loud cry of agony from Amos erupted and tears began to run down my cheeks.

"That's my son! That's my boy." Amos cried, loud sobs escaping his lips.

I ran over to Cedric's dead body. He was laid on the ground, gashes and blood on his face. I fell over his body, screaming.

He's dead. The love of my life is dead, and I didn't even get to say goodbye.

I cried over Cedric, attempting to shake him awake.

"Cedric, Cedric! Please wake up, you can't be dead!" I sobbed. I laid my head against his heart, and felt something.

I gasp left my lips as I stared blankly at him.

"I heard a breath." I trembled.

"I heard a breath!" I yelled. Dumbledore ran over to Cedric, surprise on his face.

"Ms. Johnson, you might be delirious. I know it's hard to loose someone, but that is simply not possible. I am so sorry, Allison." Dumbledore sympathized.

"No, no, I felt his chest rise and fall! I'm not crazy! Please, do something!" I yelled.

"Madam Pomfrey!" a loud voice boomed.

She ran over to his side and checked his pulse, soon after pointing her wand at his chest. It began to rise and fall again, ever so slightly.

His eyes opened lightly, and I let out a shriek of joy.

"Cedric!"

He coughed and grinned lightly, it was obvious that he was very faint.

"Hello, darling. Are you alright?" he whispered. I hugged him tightly, when I was prayed off by someone. I thrashed against the strong grip as Cedric was carried off on a stretcher to the hospital wing.
