Chereads / Crazy- A Cedric Diggory Fanfic / Chapter 25 - Back To Hogwarts

Chapter 25 - Back To Hogwarts

I woke up with warm rays of sun beating against my skin, my room tinted a bright yellow. I turned on my side to see Cedric, who was breathing softly, his chest rising and falling.

I turned over in my bed and lightly nudged Cedric, who was sleeping peacefully next to me. Since the nudging didn't work I slightly shook him and he slowly opened his eyes.

"Good morning, darling." he whispered as he cupped my face with his hands.

"You have to get up and get ready." he grinned in his deep scratchy morning voice.

"Says you." I scoffed.

He pulled off his covers, and sat up in bed, stretching his arms and groaning lightly.

I walked back to my room and sat down at my vanity getting ready to do my hair and makeup.

An hour later, I had finished with my hair in a side braid, and for makeup, a light eyeshadow and a winged liner with some mascara.

I walked over to my closet and grabbed my clothes from my trunk. I pulled on a white crop top and soon paired with a light grey cropped hoodie. I then added some black pants leggings, and proceeded to lace up a pair of converse soon after.

I walked out of my room and headed over to Cedrics room. Inside, he was brushing his hair with a comb while looking into a mirror, his back facing me.

Cedric saw me enter into his room from the mirror, and he turned around and handed me the comb. He sat on his bed and I ran my fingers through his silky brown hair, making sure it looked perfect. He flashed me his dreamy smile, and brought his comb back to the table. He soon grabbed his trunk, and held my hand with his empty hand.

"Make sure my mom isn't out there." I advised.

"Why?" he asked.

"You do realize that we were supposed to be in separate rooms, right? If she knows we slept in the same bed she'll kill both of us -- and just think of what my dad would do, Ced."

Cedric's eyes widened at my statement.

"I didn't know we weren't allowed to! Fuck, your parents are gonna hate me."

"You're fine, Ced. Just check real quick." I sighed.

He slowly opened the door and peaked outside.

"Coast is clear, lovely."

He walked me back to my room so I could grab my trunk, and we then continued to walk downstairs.

A beautiful breakfast with pancakes and bacon was layed on the table, which was of course made by my mom.

"Just in time, sleepyheads." my mom announced as she exited the kitchen, a bowl of fruit in her hands.

She set the bowl down close to my dad, who was already eyeing Cedric up and down with a disapproving glare.

Cedric quickly dropped my hand which was tightly entangled with his and scratched the back of his neck, his cheeks pink with embarassment.

After an interesting breakfast with Cedric and my dad, we apparated to the train, making sure not to be late. As soon as we hopped on the train, we went straight to the cabin we met in. To our surprise Ada, Hermione, George, and Fred were already sitting in there. We gladly joined them and talked the whole way there about our summers, and showed amazing pictures of the adventures we went on.

After what felt like a quick journey, the train slowed down and came to a stop.

I grabbed our belongings and handed them to Cedric, who headed to the door to exit. A minute or two later, I went to meet up with Cedric, when I noticed someone blocking my view of him.

A tall girl with bright blonde hair was directly in front of him, speaking in an high-pitched voice. My face grew red with anger, as hundreds of awful memories came flooding back.

You have got to be kidding me.

I rushed over to him and linked arms, kissing his cheek, and soon meeting the soft brown eyes of a young girl. She could've only been 12, maybe 13 years old -- but she was awfully tall for her age. She had hundreds of tan freckles splotched across her face and rosy cheeks, with an awfully youthful energy to her.

"Seraphina, I don't believe you've met my girlfriend Allison yet."

"No, I haven't. It's a pleasure to meet you, Allison." Seraphina beamed.

I was stunned. I couldn't believe how foolish I was.

She's just a child Allison, merely a child. Not some bitchy Slytherin named Cleo.

"Oh, um, pleasure to meet you too. Um, Cedric, I believe we should get going now, don't you?" I sputtered.

Cedric nodded his head in agreement and waved goodbye to Seraphina, and we quickly walked off of the train.

"What was that all about?" he inquired, obviously confused about the whole situation that had just gone down.

Embarassed, I began to answer the question.

"I, uh, I thought she was Cleo."

He let out a hearty chuckle, seemingly ammused.

"Cedric! You can't blame me, from behind she looks exactly like her. I could've sworn she was Cleo." I exclaimed.

In response to this he continued to laugh even harder, soon wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"I love you so much." he sighed, soon giving me a quick peck to the forehead.

We soon made it to the main entrance of Hogwarts -- this was when the boys and girls split up to find their dorm rooms with their assigned roomates. Hermione Ada and I were in the same dorm room (yet again), and we dropped our trunks on our bed and started to settle in before we had to head to the great hall.

Once we made it to the sorting ceremony, Ada George and I met Cedric at the Hufflepuff table.

Me and Cedric were both bored out of our minds, so Cedric leaned over and whispered in my ear, "remember the game we played last year, we should play again."

I nodded my head in response, and after Dumbledore's rambling speech, I went first.

I guessed Gryffindor, and I was correct (of course), so I nudged him in the side, a smile on my face. We continued to guess house after house, and got around 75% of them right.

Luckily the ceremony there the giant feast commenced, and piles of food including steak, green beans, and baked potatoes, were placed onto the tables.

"They seemed to really out-do themselves this year" I gawked.

At the end of the feast, the ice cream was placed in intricate bowls directly in front of us, with crystal spoons on the side.

Cedric lightly grabbed my waist.

"The ice cream finally came out" he whispered mockingly in my ear.

I chuckled and pushed him off so I could actually eat my ice cream. I slowly took bites of my ice cream, while Cedric was shoveling it in so fast he had almost finished two bowls within minutes.

"Ever hear of a brain freeze, Diggory." Ada remarked.

"Hm?" Cedric grunted, looking up from his bowl of ice cream.

"Nevermind, pretty-boy." George sighed.

Cedric nodded and went back to his ice cream

I chuckled under my breath and he gave me a side eye look with his mouth covered in ice cream, just like a toddler. He dipped his finger into the whipped cream and smeared it over my lips. I licked it off and did the same thing to him, and was soon given an offended look, as if he didn't just do the exact same thing to me.

Moments like these when I was with the people I cared about most made me wish things could last forever.

But sometimes history repeats iself, and just like last year, it was an absolutely perfect night.
