Chereads / Crazy- A Cedric Diggory Fanfic / Chapter 27 - It’s Over

Chapter 27 - It’s Over

Cedric's POV

It was a good start to the school year.

Me and Allison were still going strong, I cut off all of my toxic friends, and everything was seemingly perfect.

Seemingly.

It was a surprisingly warm autumn day, and the scent of cinnamon drifted through the common room from the kitchen. I was going to go check on Allison in her dorm, since we hadn't really been able to hang out lately because of our busy schedules. I asked Minnie to cook up her favorite muffins and make a glass of hot chocolate to surprise her, and of course, Minnie was more than happy to help.

With a basket in hand, I knocked on Allison Ada and Hermione's door to recieve no response.

That's weird.

I carefully opened the door to see a completely dark room, piles of clothes scattered across Allison's side of the room.

Allison was huddled in a blanket on her bed with a letter in her hands, looking awfully lost and confused whilst reading it.

"Hey, Alice." I grinned as I walked over to her, soon sitting down right next to her.

"What're you reading?" I inquired, nuzzling into her side.

"None of your business." she snapped, scooting away from me.

I nodded my head, and quickly changed the subject.

"Minnie made you your favorite, strawberry muffins and hot cocoa." I informed, placing them on her bedside table.

Allison gave me a sound of agreement, and went on reading.

After a few minutes of her reading, I decided to speak up again.

"I hope you don't mind me asking but-"

"Cedric, will you just respectfully shove off for a minute? Stop asking what I'm reading because if I thought it would be of interest to you then I would show it do you, alright!"

"Allison, I'm your boyfriend, we should tell each other everything. Please just tell me the subject of the letter." I sighed.

She looked at me nervously as she struggled to give me an answer.

I gently grabbed the letter from the loose grip in her hands, and quickly scanned it.

"Who is Dominic?"

Silence.

"Allison, who is he?"

She looked at me ashamedly.

"Who the hell is he?!" I boomed.

"I- I..."

"He better just be a close friend because if you look me in the eyes and tell me that he's somebody else..."

"You don't understand!" She began.

"Don't you dare deny this Allison, don't you dare look me in the eyes and tell me that he's who I think he is."

"He's not who you think he is!" Allison pleaded

"Well then who the fuck is he?"

"He's my ex-boyfriend Cedric, alright? Does that make you damn happy?!"

"Why are you still talking to him?"

I recieved an uncomfortable silence yet again, which made my heart drop.

"Stop avoiding the question, god dammit!" I yelled, my face hot and my eyes growing blurry with tears.

"He dumped me. He dumped me a month before my first school year here, does that make you happy?"

I sighed, holding my head in my hand.

"Do you still have feelings for him?"

"No."

"I don't believe you."

Allison scoffed, shaking her head in response. "You know what Cedric, you're pathetic. What more do you want from me?"

"To tell me the truth! Just admit it, you still have feelings for him."

"Cedric, I don't have feelings for him, I just care about him! His father just passed away, what was I supposed to do? Just ignore all of his letters?"

"All of them?" I quiered.

She went silent.

"How many?"

"He writes me every month." she stated quietly.

I shook my head in disbelief.

"And just when were you going to tell me this? That you your ex-boyfriend sending you love letters every month?!"

"They're not love letters! I don't think you understand, Cedric, he was my friend."

"You know what, I think I understand enough." I sneered, grabbing my coat and walking towards the door.

"Fine! Leave. Pack your shit and go."

I left her room, closing the door behind me and not looking back. That was it. Allison and I were over.

Allison's POV

I couldn't believe him.

He didn't understand the story at all.

I was so pissed at his actions, so pissed that he barely even gave me a chance to explain what had happened. I had always feared that he would find out in the wrong way at the wrong time, and this was a perfect demonstration of that.

Dominic and I were friends since early childhood, and ever since we were little, we had on and off feelings for eachother. We finally started dating when we were 15, and not too long after I turned 16, he broke up with me.

He believed that it wasn't the right timing, and that we just weren't meant to be together since we were going to different schools. He just couldn't handle long distance, and didn't believe that I talked to him enough -- and just like that, we were over.

I remained still on my bed, not wanting to move or even bother doing anything. I just sat there, defeated. Tears streamed down my face as I curled into a ball, violent sobs soon shaking my body.

During times like these, I would usually rely on Cedric, who would hold me close and whisper sweet nothings into my ear.

But we were over, and nothing could change that.

Ada's POV

I had just finished studying in the library, and was on my way back to the dorm.

"I bet they're snogging in there," I guessed, knowing that Cedric and Allison would be all over eachother.

In my opinion, they were the perfect couple. They always seemed so happy together, and I was glad that Allison had finally found "the one".

Her last boyfriend was an absolute dick, and she was way out of his league. What could I say, he was ugly, had an awful personality, and was built like a rotisserie chicken, but Allison never listened.

My philosophy was that as long as she was happy and the person treated her well, I supported it.

Well, for the most part.

At least Cedric was a nice guy. He always went out of his way for Allison, and was always trying to make her smile. Was I sad that I didn't get to spend as much time with her? Of course. But she was satisfied, and happy as ever -- I only wanted what was best for her.

As soon as I entered the common room, an enraged Cedric came storming out of Allison's room.

"Hey, Ced, are you good?" I asked, slightly concerned.

"Leave me alone." he grumbled, soon walking up the winding set of stairs.

What just happened?

I rushed to the dorm, worried for Allison.

Why was Cedric so mad?

I burst into the room to see Allison shaking and crying in her bed, a blanket wrapped around her.

"What did the bastard do?"

She sniffed, and lifted her head from the covers.

"We're done, and it's all my fault." she sobbed, mascara streaming down her face.

"Oh god, what happened?"

"Long story short he found out about Dominic, and he doesn't understand that we're just friends. He thinks I'm in love with him." she whimpered.

Son of a bitch.

"Well, just know that it's not your fault. Maybe you should've told him earlier, but he should know that you're head over heels for him. All you think about is Cedric, Allison. You two are meant for each other. Now, I haven't been able to say that about any other relationship you've been in, and I'm being honest. He's the one." I explained, being as honest as I possibly could.

"Not anymore, Ada. He hates me."

"He doesn't hate you, he's just frustrated. I'll talk to him for you, ok?"

"And what if things don't work out?" she sighed.

"Just remember that he's dumb as shit if he doesn't take you back. And just remember my saying. Sometimes you can't be the sharpest tool in the shed, but you can still be a hoe, ok? Now get your ass dressed up. We have a party to go to."

"What?" she asked, rising from her spot.

"Did you not hear me? Let's go!"

"But, what do I wear?" she inquired.

"Whatever you want, this is your night." I grinned. "But wear your blue one. You'll make Cedric shake in his boots."

She laughed and flashed me a toothy grin, soon beginning to get all fancied up.

While Allison was getting ready, I headed to the gardens, where I knew Cedric would be.

Just as I thought, he was sitting on a rock by a bush of flowers, staring off into space.

"What are you doing here, Diggory?" I yelled over to him.

"Thinking."

"About what?" I questioned, already knowing his response.

He chuckled, shaking his head as he looked down.

"Don't you have better things to be doing, Florek?"

"I think we both know why I'm here." I sighed.

"And why is that?"

"Because you're a stupid boy who doesn't know anything." I scolded.

He looked confused.

"You broke up with the girl of your dreams over some fugly ex-boyfriend? I don't think so. Now go get dressed up and meet Allison in the Slytherin common room at 6:00 sharp. You have a party to go to." I instructed, soon walking away.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cedric's POV

I couldn't believe I was doing what I was doing. Going to a Slytherin party? This was stupid, but I was doing it for the chance to see Allison.

I awkwardly stood outside of the door to the Slytherin common room, waiting to be let inside. Party music was blasting from inside as well as colorful lights that were beaming from underneath the door.

Blaise came to open the door, looking me up and down.

"What the hell are you doing here?" he asked, utterly confused as to why I was going to a Slytherin party.

"Does it really matter? Please just let me in."

He obliged, and I soon entered.

Colorful lights danced throughout the room, as well as pairs of people dancing, having no space between one another.

My eyes scanned the room, hoping to find Allison.

There she was, standing with Ada in the corner, drinking what I assumed was water from a bright red plastic cup.

I walked over.

Allison straightened up as soon as she saw me, fixing her hair and posture. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress, as it only highlighted her perfection. Her rosy glossed lips and sparkly eyeshadow were accentuated by the changing colors of the room.

"Allison, do you think we can talk?"

She nodded her head and walked over, her heels clicking and her hips swaying as she walked over.

"I just wanted to apologize for freaking out earlier. It wasn't justified. You were doing the right thing by reaching out to him." I admitted.

She wrapped her arms around my waist and looked deep into my eyes, her lips ever so slightly parted.

"I could never stay mad at you, love. I love you too much for that." she reassured, soon kissing my lips.

"So, does this mean we're still a thing?" I asked.

"Of course, Ceddy."

She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the dance floor, giggling and smiling as she did so.

For the remainder of the night we held each other close and swayed to the music, never wanting to let go of one another.
