Chereads / Crazy- A Cedric Diggory Fanfic / Chapter 30 - New Years

Chapter 30 - New Years

It had been a little over a week since I had snuck Cedric in the house, and before he'd left, we almost got caught.

He asked for my parents permission to take me on a train ride to see the ball drop in New York -- I was ecstatic and started to pack right away.

We were planning on getting there at around 9:00 a.m., and staying overnight.

The night before, I was finishing packing up my belongings when I heard loud footsteps angrily clomp up the stairs.

"It's not fair!" Landon yelled.

"I don't care! You are not going to your girlfriends house for New Years!" my dad responded, his voice booming.

Landon had really wanted to go to his girlfriends house for New Years, considering this would be their first New Years together.

I heard the footsteps approach my door and it was soon swung open.

"How come you can go to New York to make out with your boyfriend, but I can't go over to my girlfriends house?" he huffed.

"Why do you think? Landon, I'm gonna be 18 soon — I'm older and much more responsible." I explained, walking past him and messing up his hair.

He scoffed once again then ran out of my room into his and slammed the door.

Early the next morning, Cedric pulled into the driveway at 7:00 in his dads yellow vintage Volkswagen.

He exited the car and walked over to the other side, opening the door for me.

"Come on in, doll." he grinned.

I entered the car, buckled my seatbelt, and he began to drive me over to the nearest train station.

On the way there, he stopped, and took a sharp turn.

What the hell does he think he's doing?

He pulled into a coffee drive through, and got me a steaming hot cup of coffee.

I obviously took it, but looked at him, confused.

"You'll need to stay awake." he chuckled, one hand holding mine and the other holding the wheel.

—————————————————————————

About an hour later, we made it to the train station.

We exited the rickety old car and waited in line inside the train station for a while before finally being able to board the train.

As we were hopping on the train, Cedric grabbed my empty hand and led me down the rows of seats until he found one that he sought fit.

I sat down as he put both of our bags on the overhead shelf and sat down next to me.

Since we wanted to get there early, we had to get up much earlier than I am used to. Sure, he had gotten me coffee, but that still didn't help the fact that I was absolutely exhausted.

I laid my head on Cedrics lap as his hand wrapped over my waist. He bent over and gently placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Why didn't we just apparete there." I asked in a drowsy tone.

"Because then we wouldn't have moments like these." he smiled as he brushed his hand through my hair.

I smiled and closed my eyes, slowly falling asleep to the light brushing of Cedric's hand through my hair.

----------------------------------------------------------

As I started to wake up as I felt the train come to a complete stop.

I slowly lifted my head off of Cedric's lap, my hair twisted in all different directions.

"Look who woke up at the perfect time."

I rubbed my eyes and started to stand up, stretching and letting out a tired groan.

Cedric began to grab both of my bags, but I stopped him.

"Ced, you've been carrying my bags the entire time. Let me carry one for once, it's not fair to you." I sighed.

"Just let me carry them, love." he grinned, soon linking my arm with his as we headed off the train.

As we exited the train and walked into the Grand Central Station, we immediately were overwhelmed by all the people packed nearly shoulder to shoulder.

We left as quickly as we could, and headed outside to walk around for a while.

Cedric stopped and placed our bags down on the sidewalk.

"Can you watch these for a moment?" he asked.

I nodded my head and he walked down the side walk a bit more. He waved his hand towards the road with a whistle, and a bright yellow car reading "TAXI" pulled over.

Cedric signaled for me to come over so I picked up our bags and walked towards the car. He opened the door and held his hand out so I could use it as support.

Once I slid in, he climbed in after me and shut the door.

"Hiya gorgeous, how are you doing today?" the taxi driver inquired, his eyes focusing on me.

The silence was loud and I uncomfortably looked out the window.

"Where and you and this bum headed?" he smirked, soon followed by a cheeky wink.

Cedric's head popped up, his brow furrowing.

"Me and my boyfriend will be heading to our hotel." I snapped back.

"Ooh you're a feisty one, that's hot." he responded.

Cedric was visibly annoyed, his fists clenched and his eyes narrowed on the man.

"You know, if you weren't with him I would've made you mine by now-"

"Do you want us to take your taxi or not?!" Cedric exclaimed, finally snapping.

The driver finally shut his mouth and followed the directions that Cedric soon gave him.

After about 15 minutes of the most awkward car ride I had ever experienced, we finally arrived at our destination.

We walked out of the car and grabbed our bags from the trunk after paying.

Cedric eyed the man up and down as he helped me out of the car and Cedric held hands with me, soon walking in the direction of our hotel.

We walked into the hotel with our hands swaying back and fourth.

My mouth fell agape as I looked around.

This hotel is beautiful.

Large chandeliers decorated the enormous lobby, the crystals bending the light and scattering it across the room. The walls were painted an elegant white and the floor was made of hundreds of marble tiles.

We walked up to the front desk where a young lady dressed in a blazer and skirt sat.

"Hello, sir, my name is Janet. What may I do for you and your beautiful wife today?"

I started to blush as I looked down at the floor, but Cedric simply went along with it.

He made sure to fill out all of the necessary paperwork, and we were finally given our room keys.

We headed towards the elevator and pressed the button to level 3. As we waited, I leaned my body up against Cedric's and wrapped my hands around his torso.

I looked up a him and he looked back down to me.

"I love you." I whispered soon getting on my tip toes and pecking him on the cheek.

The elevator door slowly started to open and soon exited.

We had room number 322, so we had to walk for some time down the hallway to get the right number.

We finally found it and I swiped the card, soon opening the door and letting Cedric in with the luggage.

I admired the cozy room as I put my stuff onto our bed, soon unpacking and making myself at home.

As I was sitting on the bed watching tv and eating popcorn. Cedric came up to me, giggling mischievously.

"What are you up to now?" I sighed.

Cedric grinned and belly floped onto the bed, knocking the popcorn out of my hands.

We both started laughing hysterically.

"What was that for?" I giggled, my chest tightening from laughing so hard.

Once the whole situation calmed down, we decided on a short nap. I fell asleep quickly and drifted off into a dream about Cedric and I.

As I started to wake up, I looked around for Cedric.

"Ced?"

I looked around, but soon saw him sitting on a chair on the balcony waiting for me to come out.

I walked outside and Cedric greeted me, getting up, holding my hips, and pecking my forehead.

"You haven't even seen the best part yet." he smirked.

Confused, I looked over the balcony.

I realized that the room we were in was right across from the Ball that was going to drop at midnight. Lights were scattered across the view in front of me — it was absolutely breath taking.

I gasped at the sight and hugged Cedric so tight I don't think he could breathe, but I couldn't care less.

My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. I placed myself on his lap and placed light pecks onto his lips over and over again.

"I love you so much." I muttered in between kisses.

"I love you too."

—————————————————————————

About and hour later, we sat on the beds again, bored.

"Do you want dinner?" He asked.

"Sure, I haven't eaten anything today. I'm starving." I replied.

Cedric dialed room service and ordered some food, and luckily, it came in pretty quickly.

After we ate and watched a movie, it was around 8:00pm, and we were bored, once again.

Cedric abruptly sat up and went over to our suitcases, grabbing two items and then running over to grab my hand.

He started leading me out of the room and onto the elevator.

"Where are we going?" I queried as we stood in the elevator.

"You'll see."

I sighed and continued to hold his hand, drawing little patterns into his palm with my fingers.

The doors soon opened, and we headed out.

"Go get changed in the bathrooms over there, lovely." Cedric instructed.

I nodded my head in agreement and headed down a small hallway to change into what Cedric had handed me.

It's a bathing suit...

I headed out of the bathroom to see Cedric pacing back and forth, waiting for me.

"Hi," I grinned.

His eyes widened as he saw me, and he walked over to me, soon picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder.

I giggled as he ran over to a large crystal clear pool, placing me down right in front of it.

"You look so perfect."

I grinned at him bashfully, my cheeks growing warm.

He held my hand once again and walked into the pool with me.

"God it's cold." I shivered.

"Here," Cedric began, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close.

"I'll keep you warm."

I smiled into his chest and soon looked up at him, my hair wet and my cheeks a bright pink.

"I love you more than words can describe — nobody's ever made me feel the way that you do."

He gave me a toothy grin and pulled me closer, kissing the top of my head.

"I feel the exact same..."

After a while of splashing around, we went back to our room. We had worked up quite an appetite at the pool, so we decided to order more room service to get some desert.

By the time we finished, it was just about for the ball to drop.

----------------------------------------------------------

Cedric's POV

After dessert at around 11:50, Allison and I set up some blankets and pillows outside to watch the ball drop.

Allison huddled up next to me under the blanket, trying her best to keep warm.

"Why does it have to be so cold in December." She sighed.

"If I could change the temperature for you I would." I grinned into her neck, kissing it before looking back at the ball across the way.

It was a beautiful view, as we could see the entire city lit up, and the bright colorful ball was about to drop.

Thousands of people were packed together behind gates as performers sang and danced.

By 11:55 as far as you could see both left and right the roads were filled to the brim of people, confetti and glitter falling from party poppers.

As we heared that there was one minute on the clock Allison squealed, and I wrapped my arms around her.

Happy New Year!

Me and Allisons lips passionately collided together, moving in sink. I pulled her closer to me and she wrapped her arms around my neck. I rubbed her back up and down and she ran her fingers through my hair. As we heard the people below us cheering, we continued to kiss slowly, never stopping. Her breathing was heavy as I lightly squeezed her neck, a groan escaping from my flushed parted lips.

After a couple of minutes, we finally pulled apart and she laid her head on my chest. We sat on the balcony for a while before getting up and getting ready for bed.

----------------------------------------------------------

Allison's POV

I slipped my legs under the covers and laid down on my side, facing the outside of the bed. I soon felt Cedric slide in after me, and he wrapped his hands around my waist.

"Was this the best New Years you've ever had?" he whispered.

I turned towoards him and nodded my head. He kissed my cheek and trailed down, making his way to my neck. He left a trail of slow sloppy kisses up and down.

I snuggled into his chest and tilted my neck to give him more as he started to lightly suck and nibble at the sensitive skin. I closed my eyes and sighed, soon starting to fall asleep.

----------------------------------------------------------

I woke up to the sun hitting my face from outside the window, a fresh layer of snow covering the balcony. Cedric was sleeping soundly next to me, and I slowly slid out of bed.

I walked over to the bathroom and walked over to the sink and mirror.

As I was brushing my teeth, I flipped my hair over my shoulder and saw large bright purple markings all over the right side of my neck.

Holy shit!

I ran out of the bathroom over to Cedric's side of the bed, and shook him lightly.

"Cedric!" I whispered.

He groaned and opened his eyes.

"Yes, love."

"Look at my neck!"

He rubbed his eyes and lazily looked at my neck, his eyes soon widening.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry love, I didn't mean-"

"I'm not mad at the fact they're there, but my parents sure will!" I exclaimed.

"God, I'm so sorry Alice, what can I do to fix this? Fuck, I'm so stupid..." he babbled whilst running his hands through his hair.

"I don't know..." I began, but something soon caught my eye.

Dangling out of the suitcase was a light yellow turtleneck.

"This will work."

I went back to the bathroom and got ready, using the turtleneck to cover my incredibly visible hickeys.

I came out of the bathroom and gave Cedric a little twirl.

"How do I look?"

"Gorgeous, as always." he grinned.

I smiled and decided to make us a batch of coffee using the coffee maker the hotel provided.

Cedric put on a robe and headed outside with me to drink the cups of coffee I made.

I smiled knowing that with the love of my life, my would never be the same. I felt a pair of lips press against my forehead. I looked up to see Cedric with a tired grin plastered across his beautiful face.

He sat down next to me and we talked about our plans for the day.

God, I hope this never ends.
