The next day I woke up in Cedric's room fairly early, still clung to his body.
He was lightly snoring as my head rested against his chest, his arms wrapped around my body keeping me close.
Cedric had his own room since he was a last year prefect, which was definelty a plus, since he had no roomates to bother him.
I removed his limp arms from my torso and headed to the bathroom. I decided to wash my face and brush out my hair, soon heading back out to see Cedric.
He must have woken up just a minute before I came out, because his hair was all over the place and he was rubbing his eyes.
"Morning, darling." he yawned.
"Good morning sleeping beauty." I chuckled as I walked over to him, his arms finding their way back around my waist.
He pressed a kiss against my torso and looked back up at me once again.
"How did you rest?" he asked.
"Alright." I sighed.
I sat right back down next to him and placed my head on his shoulder, giving it a light peck.
I held my hand out in front of me and grinned.
"I can't believe we're gonna get married." I marveled.
"Neither can I. But I couldn't be happier about it." he smiled.
I need to tell Ada and Hermione.
I immediately lifted my head off of his shoulder and gave him a small nudge.
"Get dressed, Ced. We have somewhere to go."
Confused yet intrigued, Cedric got dressed and so did I.
"Where are we going?" Cedric asked as he put my hand in his.
"Where do you think? We need to tell Ada and Hermione the big news!" I exclaimed as we headed out of the door.
I let go of his hand and started to run to my dorm as fast as I could, my hair flowing behind me.
My legs were burning from running so fast as we ran down the long hall of the boys dormitories, but I couldn't care less. My cheeks were rosy and they hurt from smiling so hard, but all I wanted to do was tell my friends the exciting news.
Cedric was attempting to keep up with me, but failing miserably.
You would think that a 6 foot 1 seeker would be faster than his girlfriend...
"What the hell took you so long" I inquired as soon as he caught up with me in front of the dorm.
Cedric was crouched over with his hands on his knees, panting uncontrollably as he tried to form a sentence.
"How in gods name do you run so fast?" he began.
"You're literally five fucking feet tall."
I chuckled and grabbed his hand again slowly opening the door.
I saw both Ada and Hermione sitting on their beds, deeply intrigued by their books.
I cleared my throat to get their attention.
"We have a surprise" I stated.
The both looked up at us with confused faces.
"And what is that?" Hermione queried, unamused.
"We getting married." Cedric smiled.
Hermione's mouth fell wide open and Ada started to scream, jumping up from her bed.
Ada ran up to me and hugged me so hard I couldn't seem to breathe.
"You know, oxygen is necessary to live." I choked.
"Do I look like I give a fuck?"
She finally let go over me and then walked over to Cedric.
She glared at him and then leaned into his ear.
All I could hear was, "treat her right...you hurt her and I will fucking cut you..."
His eyes widened and he nodded his head, scratching the back of his neck.
She then smiled and pulled him into a big hug.
He chuckled and hugged her back.
"I told you this was going to happen!" Ada exclaimed, looking at both me and Hermione with a smirk.
"Well, I've gotta go to quidditch practice. Bye, Ada, bye 'Mione," he began.
"Bye lovely, see you at dinner." he grinned, giving me a peck on the lips before he walked out.
As soon as he closed the door I squealed and face planted on my bed. I was soon pulled up by Hermione and Ada who bombarded me with what felt like hundreds of questions.
"How did he propose?"
"Was it romantic?"
"Ooh, were there flowers?!"
"What did he say to you?"
"How do you feel, Mrs. Diggory?"
"Guys, guys, guys, chill out for a minute. You need to breathe." I chuckled.
I answered as many of their questions as I could.
"Do you love him?" Hermione asked.
Ada elbowed her lightly in the side.
"What kind of dumbass question is that? Of course she loves him."
"Well, I dunno, sometimes people marry people they don't truly love. They convince themselves they do and then they're stuck in a deadend marriage with 7 kids and no happiness whatsoever. I just don't want that for you Chloe, that's why I asked -- because I think you're just so much more than that. You're only 17,"
"18 soon!" Ada chimed in.
"Yes, 18 soon, but is this really what you want to do with your life? Think about it, you've got so much life left ahead of you and you're planning on getting married at 17?" Hermione finished.
I sighed and looked at her.
"'Mione, I've never ever felt this way for anyone before. It's a true connection. To say I would die for him is an understatement -- I would do anything for him, and I mean anything. I feel stupid and cheesy saying that but it's true. I don't want to lose him, all I want is for him to be mine, always and forever. So, yes, I love him. With every single piece of my heart." I responded.
"Bitch! Where's my piece?" Ada snapped.
"It's there don't worry." I chuckled
After all the wedding talk we decided to study for the N.E.W.T.S tests that were starting in less than a week.
—————————
Dinner had crept up on us, and before we knew it we had to start walking to the Great Hall to make it in time. I soon set down next to Cedric who was all dirty and sweaty from his practice.
He tried to put his arm around me but I slid father down the bench.
"You're not touching me with all that dirt and sweat caked on you." I smirked.
He sighed but signaled for me to come back over to him. He admired the ring on my finger as I ate my dinner.
"I should be a professional ring chooser." he admired.
"You mean a jeweler?" I inquired raising one eyebrow.
He nodded his head with his lopsided grin and kissed me on the cheek.
As soon as we were done eating we headed back to the common room hand in hand.
We walked all the way down the hallway to the boys dormitories before making it to his room.
I jumped onto his bed and noticed my book was on his night stand.
"Hey! I've been looking for this book!" I stated picking it up.
"You left it here last night." he answered. "I'm gonna take a shower but if you want stay you can sit on the bed and watch tv or read your book."
I nodded my head and slowly opened the book to where I left off. He walked into the bathroom, slowly closing the door behind him.
About 15 minutes of reading my book, Cedric emerged from the bathroom in a pair of grey sweat pants and dripping wet hair, small beadlets of water dripping down his chest.
"I think you've got a little bit of drool right there..." Cedric chuckled, pointing towards the corner of his mouth.
I scoffed and chucked a pillow in his direction.
He laughed and layed down right next to me in bed, resting his head on my shoulder.
"What part are you on" he asked.
"Have you read the Hunger Games Trilogy before?" I asked.
"Yea, when I was younger I was obsessed" He replied.
I grinned widely and read him the page I was on before closing the book and snuggling close to him.
"You know I love you, but I don't know if I'm ready to get married just yet. I think we should wait until we're out of job training and have somewhat stable jobs." I whispered.
"As long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter if we're married or not. I love you either way." he responded.
I smiled into his chest before he gently kissed my forehead, soon falling asleep in each other's arms.
