Dream watched as George looked in his pantry, only to discover pop tart wrappers.
His heart hurt. Dream wanted to pull George in and kiss him so much at that moment, and he was about to, but George must've been getting uncomfortable.

Maybe he should take a step back from George. After all, he had almost kissed him a few minutes ago. He felt terrible. Dream wanted him to be happy, but he didn't seem happy when Dream always teased him.
Dream laughed nervously. "Uh, I forgot that I don't have any food. I haven't been grocery shopping for a while."
George sighed dramatically. "I guess we'll have to go somewhere to eat then."
Dream rolled his eyes and smiled, covering up the fact his heart felt like a stone weighing him down, making it a challenge to get up.

"Hello! Welcome to Bloom Cafรฉ! My name is Maia, and I will be your server! What would you like to order?" She laid her eyes on George with a huge smile plastered across her face.
"Uhh, I would like a chocolate croissant with some hot chocolate." George smiled back at her.
"Ooh, I love the chocolate croissant. Good choice!" She hesitated for a moment. "What's your name?"
"George!"
"I love that name!"
"Thank you, y-yours was pretty."
Dream coughed. Maia turned in surprise, probably forgetting he even existed.
"Oh I'm sorry, what would you like, sir?" It seemed as if her smile lessened when she looked at Dream, but he was fine with it. He needed a break from girls always trying to impress him or whatever.
"Oh, uhm, I would just like a mint boba, please." Dream said.
"Okay. Coming right up!" She glanced at George with a quick wink, and walked off.
"She was nice," George stated.
"Whatever."
Dream was jealous. He couldn't stand the fact that that girl was flirting with him. Dream sighed and stared at his hands. He was way too dramatic and protective.

"Is everything okay, Dream?" George asked his voice tainted with a hint of concern.
Dream looked up, but wouldn't make eye contact with George. "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Perfectly fine.."
"Hmm. Okay, but if something is up, you can always talk to me." Dream smiled at that.
"Thank you, George."
"Anytime."
Dream eventually made eye contact, and for a while they just sat there, drowning in the depths of each other's eyes. Just then, their waiter came with their order, bringing them back into reality. Maia smiled at George.
"Do you need anything else?"
George smiled. "I don't think so."
"Alright, but before I go, I was wondering if uh- you wanted to hangout sometime, and if I could maybe get your number? You seem like a great guy and you're really cute and..yeah."
"What?- M-me?!" George asked with a confused and alarmed face.
"Yes, silly!" She giggled.

"W-well-"
Dream interrupted him.
"Um, I don't think so. He's actually taken." Dream glared at her and scooted his chair further in.
"Aw, what a lucky girl.." Maia seemed to be forcing a smile.
"Who are you to assume it's a girl?"
"W-well I didn't know I just thought-"
"Well you thought wrong, and he's actually dating me, so I'd appreciate if you wouldn't hit on him and you could leave him alone." He said, growing more hostile by the moment, hardly taking notice of what he was saying.
George looked at him in disbelief, his cheeks turning pink. "Dre- Clay, what?"
Maia backed away, embarrassed. "O-oh I'm sorry, I'll be leaving then."
She turned and rushed away to a person taking a seat at a table.
"What the hell, Dream?! I just had a chance with a girl for once and you ruined it! And we're not even dating, so why are you acting like you need to defend me?"
"George I-"
"What?"
"I lo-" Dream slumped and looked at his lap, his vision becoming blurry from the tears forming, threatening to spill out onto his hot cheeks, flushed in embarrassment.

"Pardon?"
"N-nothing." Dream started fidgeting with his hands, trying to blink away the tears.
George frowned and leaned forward a bit, lazily laying his hands on the table. "Fine then."

Dream had already memorized a confession to George, even adding a temporary sentence, although he'd never need it. George would never love him the same way.
George started talking, which snapped him back into reality. "Um, but why did you say I was uh- taken by you-?"
"I uhm- don't know I guess.."

"Oh.." Was George frowning?
Dream rested his hand on George's.
"Look, I just want to protect you. I'm sorry..." His voice lowered to a mumble. "I just don't wanna see you with anyone other than me."
"Huh? you don't wanna what?"
"I- uhm, n-nothing." Dream stuttered nervously.
For the rest of the time at the cafe, it was mostly awkward silence, and a different waiter came to give them their bill.

As soon as they got back to Dream's apartment, Dream was the first to speak.
"George, I- uhm.." He stood there awkwardly for a moment. "I'm really sorry for what happened back there, I don't know why I-" He stopped mid-sentence, not trying to ramble. "The point is, I'm sorry. I really hope you can forgive me for that. I- I don't know why I did that." George stared at him as he continued. "I don't what what got into me. I shouldn't have gotten in the way of-"
Suddenly, George hugged him. "Don't. I understand. I'm sorry for getting mad at you. It was just a random girl I didn't even know." He hesitated. "I- I don't know what got into me. I guess I just- I dunno, felt like maybe I'd get a chance in not being single." He chuckled.

Dream smiled weakly. "Sorry haha."
"Nah don't worry. I think it's for the best anyways. Seemed like she was trying to hard. Almost as much as you." He grinned.
Dream rolled his eyes. "You wish." They both laughed, the tension breaking away into small bits, quickly disappearing. Their laughs faintly echoed through the hallway.
"Hey, wanna go watch the sunset? It'll set soon!" Dream asked eagerly.
"Sure!"
They both walked to the door leading onto his balcony, and Dream showed George a secret way to get on the roof from the ledge. It was calm evening with no wind, and the temperature was perfect.
Dream watched as George stood there in amazement, watching the sky change into a variety of colors. Dream walked up next to him.
"It's so pretty!" George said almost as if his breath had been taken away.
"Not as pretty as you," Dream mumbled.
"Huh?" George looked at him.
"Nothing." He smiled.
As the sun went further down, they sat down near the edge, sitting in a calm silence, watching the sunset together. [two men on a date ;)]
George's eyes fluttered shut, and soon he was fast asleep, leaning on Dream. Dream blushed, positioning George so that he was laying on his chest while sitting upright. Dream wrapped his arms around him and cuddled him. He listened to George's steady breathing. A tear slipped from his eye.

Dream closed his eyes, and smiled as the sun disappeared behind the horizon.
After a while, Dream got up, gently picked up George, and carefully got off of the roof. He went inside and tucked George in his bed. He'd sleep on the couch; he didn't want to bother George more than he already had today.
With the image of sleeping George stuck in his head, Dream drifted off to sleep.
