The walk to the dorm shows Cypher lost in through and Cain counting his earnings; when they eventually arrive, Cypher's the one who pushings open the door, almost presenting the room to Cain. The two spent little time speaking to each other, exploring the complete interior of what they came to find out, a small house of a dorm. Cypher parted from Cain to get the last bit of rest the night would offer him. The following morning Cypher would wake ready to take advantage of the appliances given to him, taking a shower before leaving his dorm room.
His walk down towards the exit of the dorm house showed that most people seem to be making their way out as well; Cypher binds into the crowd continuing his way towards the main building looking to find the dining hall. The hall was easy to find, its placement being readily accessible. All it took was a simple left turn after the initial entrance. The dining hall was massive wooden tables lined with table cloths cleaned and neatly set up; for now, at least, Cypher walked in, noticing that the food was being made at the very back of the room. Even at a decent pace took Cypher an entire two minutes to walk down; the wait in line was near nonexistent. People lined up though it seemed the line was always in motion; the sound of rotating fans caught Cypher ears. The sound was so quiet he questioned what exactly it was used for.
Arriving at the front of his line, he saw grills and stovetops prepared to construct anything requested, "What do you wish for?" Cypher glanced up from the equipment seeing the smiling face of a kind woman trying her apron. "I just take the easiest thing for you to make." At Cypher's answer, the women looked closely at him though he regained her grin and got to work, and less than minutiae had a plate of food in Cypher's hand, sending him on his way. The plate itself was filled with slices of toast, eggs, and what seemed to be some meat Cypher couldn't identify. Distracting himself, he looks around, trying to find a table to sit at that wasn't heavily crowded or looked as if it would be soon.
To Cypher's surprise, he noticed a table with an odd sitting arrangement, groups and groups of men crowded around one side of the table, and a single woman with open seats next to her. Looking closer, Cypher realized he noticed the female and decided to visit her. Taking the seat directly next to Anna, Cypher greeted her. Anna's eyes widened at the prospect of someone taking the empty chair, though when she heard Cypher's name, she claimed her expression and returned his greeting. Cypher started to eat his food, beginning with the strange flesh on his plate, finding it to be venison.
"Don't try and get up now; you're finished." Cypher's ears recognized that the voice was directed at him; looking up, he saw the look of hatred painted across the face of everyone on the opposite side of the table. Cypher was about to speak, but Anna did it for him, "Drop it." She spoke clammily to the angered crowd, which seemed to quiet them down, but their angered curses, even if they were in their head, still showed on their faces. "You seem to have gained popularity pretty fast." Cypher spoke, not looking up from his plate; Anna didn't take long to respond, "What? They've been following me around since the pre-academy. I'm guessing you didn't go if you don't even know that much." Cypher squirted his eyes at her words, his thoughts focused on the fact that there was a stage meant to be completed before the actual academy that he skipped.
"I see." Cypher continued to take bites at his food, engaging in small conversation with Anna. As he finished his food, Cypher stood preparing to leave, but as he looked down, he saw Anna had finished hers as well. Cypher grins slightly, looking at the crowd of excited faces awaiting his departure only to regain their anger by bidding Anna fair well and taking her tray with him as he leaves. Cypher countries his stride as he walks towards what seems to be a station where all the trays were dropped off, leaving the two trays in his hand behind.
Cypher begins to stride out of the dining hall only to stop himself at the sight of Cain surrounded by a group of people begging to be departed with their wealth. Cypher decided that that would be more interesting than finding something else to do. The table was covered in stakes of gold and black cards; the sheer amount of wealth held on this table was ridiculous. Cypher walked in tandem with what seemed to be the destruction of mana orbs; he managed to push his way through the crowd finding his way next to Cain, giving him a small greeting. Cain didn't respond until the sight of three mana orb being destroyed dispersed, "what is it, Cypher?"
Cypher looked around and thought to himself, eventually coming to one conclusion, "Hey Cain, let me take over." Cain turned his head questionable at Cypher as the crowd cheered for the man that lost his money as if the act of losing was honorable.
"What are you talking about?" Cain kept the questionable look on his face when he asked his rhetorical question, which Cypher answered in kind. "The advanced average creation total is ten; anything more than that is strenuous. Without adrenaline flowing through the body, a person can gain an orb per minute. That was just three of your total." Cypher spoke, showing his teeth in a smile; Cain just looked at him to see if his answer was profound.
"Ten?" Cain spoke as if he was disrespected. This reaction only brought a large small to Cypher's face, and at that point, Cypher merely asked Cain, "Why don't we go again and we can see who has the greatest total?" Cain grinned and pointed to the opposite side of the table, "I already gave you your free rate; it's two hundred gold or two black cards if you want to triple or nothing. Anything below that is double, or nothing, but don't worry, both options only apply for if you win; if you lose, you only have to pay up half of what you started with." With those words, a question Cypher had answered was the reason why people kept coming back.
Cypher nodded his head and pulled out three black cards of his own and placed them on the table; Cain smiled and did the same, only adding triple the amount Cypher put down. Making the total a collective of twelve black cards worth a hundred each. "This time, you can start as the creator instead of the destroyer." Cypher nodded his head and readied himself, with no limit being set on the field; this was more of a show of superiority than a fair game. Cypher smiled at Cain, pointing at the center of the table showing where he intended to place his creations, Cain gave no response, but Cypher knew he understood. Cypher quickly manifested his creation total, the white shells of the mana orbs condensed in a group of sixteen. The only one finished its creation; Cypher let out an audible laugh knowing Cain didn't have a greater total than him. Along with him, Cain let out a loud curse.
The crowd roared with cheers and laughter; this would mark Cain's only ever three defeats. Two of which were by the same person. Cypher collected his earnings, hearing Cain let out a sigh as he gathered his. Shutting down the gambling ring for now. Cypher looks down at the money he had made in less than a minute and pockets the cards along with the other fifteen in his pocket, separate from the gold packed within the pouch hounding from his belt. Cypher's clothing was simple, a fitted ash white shirt that stops at the elbows, along with a hoodie and a black undershirt, golden strings that fell from the hood over the chest—paired with Black jeans and white shoes with golden lines.
Cain was dressed in what seemed to Cypher as a dark blue duffle jack, whose color matched his eyes, with a simple grey undershirt. The jack was closed together towards its upper portions and opened as it lowered. His jeans are grey that faded into white in the front of the pants. His shoes were made to match the darker colors. As they both walked out of the dining hall entrance, they stood at relatively the same height at around five foot eight inches with somewhat matching muscular frames. Cypher turned his head towards the opening of the main building, only to be met with the headmaster's sight, followed by a number of students heading towards the dining hall. "I have an announcement to make, so you might as well return to the hall," Headmaster spoke out.
Cypher and Cain spun on their heels, walking back into the hall, with the headmaster following closely behind. Cypher and Cain sit down at the nearest table, watching as the headmaster calms everyone down and gathers their attention. "As you all should know, the tournaments are coming up soon; because of recent developments with a lot of promising youths, the games have been rushed this year and are taking place next week. The game categories will be sent to your devices along with your schedules and placements within the tournament. Though the schedules might as well be disregarded given the nature of tournaments, instead of half the year, they have been extended to its entirety," The headmaster walked over to the table where Cypher and Cain were sitting and held up a clipboard with far too many papers stuffed onto it. "Write your name and phone number on one of the lines on one of these pages, and ready yourself for the months to come."
The headmaster then nods his head at the entire crowd, then turns and makes his way out of the hall. Cypher and Cain both look at each other and place their names on the sheet along with their numbers and walk out of the arena following after the headmaster's steps. The noise from the hall grew louder as the sound of shuffling feet drew louder.
