Chapter 11 - Wanna be axe breaker to wanna be axe master

Once I had time to fully wake up I took abit to review what happened and what could be done to prepare for the next dream. Assuming the dream could last it would effectively double my training time. This system never gave me delusions of grandeur before but with this....maybe. But to stretch it out simple survival was a must, the axe was the only tool available so far, so grinding skills to make it easier to use and last would be vital. There were a couple hours before work so I booted up ESO and started the epic quest....rat hunting. This perfect fodder would let me grind up the kills I needed to get all the iron axe skills. After that maybe thered be time for getting the steel ones. 3 races of iron axe skills later and it was time for work....well crap. Work was uneventful as always and I tried to imagine what relevant survival skills I could grind here and then it hit me, a skill I got on day 1 that never reached level1, drinking water. I drank 2 large cups of water an hour, my manager was annoyed with my frequent restroom breaks but I told her my neighbors smoked a ton of weed and I was terrified of a positive test so she just laughed at me. On the way home after work I bought an axe and called one of the farmers from the market I helped out at. He had been complaining about overgrown brush and I needed experience so I arranged to go over to clear it out on my next day off. I knew I couldn't get the skill I needed fast enough through ESO or fable so I found a fallen tree near my apartment and chopped on it for a couple hours, my hands were blistered I was sore and tired but I got the skill darnit!

Axe-Chopping Wood: Each swing takes 0.1% less stamina and does 0.1% less damage to the axe per level

It might seem small and insignificant but I know how it'll add up. That night I grinded 2 more iron axe skills on ESO and read some online survival manuals while watching naked and afraid.

Going to sleep as ready as I could be for the new day? I drifted off saying in my mind over and over "link-start!"

Waking up in my sadly fenced in pen I felt both well rested and fatigued, hmm dual life issues? Rebuilding the fire from the embers was the first task, even a slow burn could slightly deter predators(and prey). Next pushing over some thinner trees to upturn their roots was great for helping find worms and grubs. Wish there was some salt to further clean them but a quick bath in boiling water will do.

-you have acquired the skill bug tamer,

Bug Tamer lv 1 (0/100) Bugs you tame will grow 3% faster and be 2% more loyal to you.

.... umm which bugs did I tame?

looking back I had a couple fire hardened clay holes full of worms and grubs, a bear could feast here, guess I got carried away....

Okay so this skill would make worm farming a breeze at least but it feels like I'm turning this amazing super realistic game where you can be a superhuman and galactic traveler into a sad combination of minecraft and pokemon.... hell I'm a frinkin' bug catcher now. I take a break from the nonsense after maxing my bug collector skill and earn a potential point? With all these fallen trees resuming working on my place was easy...ish carving into stone was a nightmare but I seemed to be getting better and I definately got the hang of carving the nook for the logs to Nestle into eachother, well sticks more than logs, none were more than 4 inches thick. when it was about 2.5 feet tall I decided to add a couple pillars along the outside, putting these against the wall with a 2 inch gap would allow me to pack in pine straw making it an actual insulating wall, albeit a temporary one. Before I went to bed I filled up on more worms and grubs while reviewing ignored notifications. Apparently one of my tamed grubs had levelup and gotten the skill cannibalism, both awarded me 1 xp. Really gotta work on building a worm farm tommorow. Then it hit me, the worms and grubs exposed would draw aton of attention to my sad little camp. They had to go filling my pack with as much as I could carry I hauled them to the creek and dumped them out. A couple fell to the side and as I picked them up I saw

-Tamed unnamed worm

Str1 DeX 1 End1 Int0 Charm0 Luck2

-Name your tamed worm

"Worm 1"

It took a moment to figure out which one it was but once that was done and the others discarded we headed back to camp in the dark.... nothing happened I half buried worm 1 and burrowed into my cot. It had been a long but fruitful day, deforestation would grant me skills and experience, hopefully maxing some would grant me attributes.

"Goodnight worm 1"

Waking up in my room felt weird...hmm axe skills, stone carving, worm farming, there's gotta be more to do right? 3 more races of iron axe skills grinded in ESO and it was time for work. I didn't wanna see the app, not checking it made it all feel more real and more magic at the same time, as I did things I got better. It was like being a kid again learning and trying were easy and natural. It felt like the characters in the games I played were me, frankly I was addicted, in game, dream, and real life. I wanted, no, needed to learn and grow. So much I hadn't done but could. After running home I dug up some worms and prepared them with my ebony blade, I know kinda stupid but I wanted to spice it up....worms, onions, and carrots do not make a good soup.... I counted out 1k kills with the remaining races axes and knew I got the axe skill. Tonight I had a ton to do I was excited, going to bed was exciting, man that's a crazy thought.
