Chapter 16 - Chapter 15: A Needed Talk

~~~~~~~~~~
Uriel and Lucias had flown back to Heaven. Once they landed, they remained silent until upon a grand golden gate that led to an even more grand white home. There was another angel guarding in silver-metaled armor that stood still, never wavering. Lucias leaned in and whispered to him. The golden gate moved open slowly, Uriel waited for Lucias, who then nodded. Both angels walked through the gate. Uriel looked at the paintings on the wall, the home remained eerily silent, as he could hear their footsteps echo through the hall. They stopped at a wooden door, that opened on its own. It revealed a garden in the middle of the home. Birds flew, chasing one another, and a waterfall fell into a pond that held colorful fish. There was Father, sitting on a bench, looking as though he was quietly pondering. Lucias walked up to him, revealing the weapon. God looked at it concerned, touching the weapon, the weapons evil aura started to dissipate, as a weird screeching sound correlated with the blackness losing its grip on the weapon. God then looked warmly at Uriel with his green eyes that seemed they held a whole universe. They were rather intimidating, but something about them always held an odd peace.
Uriel kneeled and looked down.
"Always too modest Uriel." Father said.
Uriel looked at Him, "I failed you. I spoke with my halfbreed partner, which is forbidden."
Lucias stood back silently observing, with his arms folded.
God nodded slowly, "Isn't it odd as we hear a silent call, pulling our strings?"
Uriel looked at Him with confusion.
God stood up and took a few steps, staring at the birds that chased one another.
"Those birds, too, seek companionship. They are no angel, demon, or halfbreed." God said as He stared at the ground then looked at Uriel who'd remained kneeling.
He smiled warmly, "Come child, no need. Please walk with me."
Uriel stood up, still looking down, but walking by God's side.
"There's been quite of a problem with your brother. He's stirred up something within and some have made their choice." God said stopping. He waved his hand and as if looking through a window, the view had shown the world below of the humans.
"I've been trying to find those that I trust, those that have been tainted, and those who will be a part of the outcome."
Uriel looked up at the view of the land below, "What will become of her?" He asked unsure if he should even ask.
God stared at the world below, "To understand that, you will need to understand the dilemma we are in." God once more waved His hand, which held a still picture of the angels brother, Lucifer, and a following army.
Uriel looked at Father, "I am one angel in a flock, Father."
"So you cast doubt of me?" Father asked.
"Not much doubt, as it is curiosity."
"You brother, too, was curious and thus the seed grew sinister." God once again changed a view of a horrific battle, "A war is inevitable for someone who wants peace. I thought my plan was seamless, but even some things go awry. You know, every demon and halfbreed understands humans much more than a single angel. Do you know why that is?"
Uriel remained silent, unsure how to respond.
God took a deep breath in, "They understand suffering. Not just the awful emotions one feels, but the joy and pleasure of their desires. For you, my child, don't even understand that there are other things one may feel. That having your own thought can lead to a different path."
"If so, why explain this to me? Isn't this the path of being tainted?"
God changed the vision once more to Arakna laying in the grass staring at the moon. "Please hear me."
Uriel leaned closer, observing her black eyes, with a hint of purple and gold. Her hair blew across her face, he wanted to reach out to touch her, but fought the urge.
"You will become tainted, I feel it within you. There's been a strum to your string and now the melody is playing. I cannot change the willful."
Uriel looked at God, then at Lucias who had still stood back.
"Must I leave the Kingdom?"
God nodded and patted Uriel's shoulder, "No, child. You must help me save it."
