Darcian flew back with Arakna toward her new home. Arakna knew Razo wouldn't be happy about this, but deep down she knew everything was falling into place for something bigger. God had warned her, she needed to be cautious and follow the signs. Arakna saw the cottage and flew a little faster to get ahead. Easing her way down, Razo came out from the front wooden door, "Great! You leave for nearly a week and you bring 'that' back!" He shouted as he pointed toward Darcian who now was landing beside her. Ian ran up behind Razo, peeking from out behind his leg. His big brown eyes showed concern that another demon came. This one looked kind of scary. He was taller than Arakna and Razo, strongly built, short black hair, with his shiny silver eyes, but his wings were as black as the night sky.
Darcian knelt down and smiled at the young boy who seemed to fear him, "Oh my! I didn't know there was a strong warrior protecting this land. I must introduce myself to such a superior warrior. I am Darcian. I have fought many battles, but you young sir look Iike you could take me with one punch."
Ian was hesitant, but came out from behind, "I'm Ian." He said softly.
Darcian didn't seem like that other demon who'd hurt his mom, but he still was a bit scared. He could see the demon mark on his neck, but at least Razo could hide his he thought as he looked at Razo.
"Head inside little lamb." Razo said without looking away from Darcian. Ian ran back inside, but peered out the window opening, watching intensely.
"Why are you here?" Razo asked sharply.
"Why are 'you' here?" Darcian asked back.
Razo stared at him suspiciously then faced Arakna, "Why did you bring him?"
"I don't need your permission."
"No, but let me remind you that we were attacked by a strong demon pretty fucking recently."
Darcian looked surprised, "Did you say strong demon?"
Razo glared at Darcian, "Yes, a pretty fucking strong one that 'she' ripped apart!"
Darcian looked at Arakna who now had an awkward look on her face. Clearly there was something she failed to mention, but why keep it a secret, he wondered.
"By any chance did you get the name of this demon?" Darcian asked.
"Borak. Borak was his name." Arakna said reluctantly.
Razo looked at her wrists, "Your chains are gone! How did you get them off?"
"With these." Arakna unsheathed her swords to show Razo.
"Fuck yeah! Did you get me something?"
Arakna nodded no, when Razo handed them back.
"Unbelievable." He mumbled as he turned away to walk back in.
"I didn't take you as one to play house." Darcian said to Arakna.
"Neither did I, but-" Arakna paused, "they make me feel something." She said as she went to follow after Razo.
Darcian shook his head and sat down at the front of the cottage. He didn't know if he could. He was once one of Michael's subordinates and now here he was, a demon. He'd been in plenty of battles, killed in the name of God's Kingdom without a second thought, and now he was a mess. Still doing what Michael had asked him to do, get captured, get intel, and come back. He saw his partner's face come to memory, the last look Adanya had given him. He shook his head, not now he thought. Now there was no going back and he had a lot of intel, he slammed his head against the wall when a little voice came from the window, "You need to be careful. You'll scare my mom."
Darcian look up, "My apologies sir."
He turned to face forward and look at the valley before him. Ian came out slowly to look at this strong black-haired demon and paused when his piercing silver eyes faced him.
"What is it sir?"
"Are you going to come in?"
Darcian looked away, "I like the outside."
Ian came over and sat down next to him, "Are you a good demon or a bad one?"
Darcian chuckled, "You know a bad demon could lie to you and say he's good."
Ian fiddled with his fingers, when Darcian could see something was on his mind, "Here's the thing sir, I've been on a mission. I got lost on the mission and did a horrible mistake that costed me my angelic purity. Now, with this Arakna here, I think I found out what I'm supposed to do."
Ian knelt on his knees eagerly interested to hear Darcian's response, "What do you have to do?"
"Easy. Help her, but I need to talk to Arakna about what I think. That'll be later."
Razo peeked out, "Get over here little lamb. Get away from him."
Darcian looked at Razo scowling him and chuckled. Ian got up and looked back at Darcian, "I think you're a good demon."
Darcian nodded and thought, there's no such thing. All he could do was force a smile and look away.
