The next night, Alice and Eva were getting dressed for their interview. "Alright, I know you don't have any clothes, so you can borrow mine until you can afford some." Alice said as she handed Eva a black mini skirt and a leather jacket. "Thanks." Eva replied. Alice saw to it that she did Eva's make-up, since she was sure Eva never dressed goth before. When Eva looked in the mirror as they finished, she didn't even recognize herself. "You ready?" Alice asked confidently. "Yeah…" Eva said softly. "You don't sound ready. What's wrong?" "Oh-uh, nothing! I just…never dressed this way before, is all." "Heh, it comes with the package. If you wanna be a rock star, you gotta dress the part. Now, let's go!"
Chris dropped them off to a bar, where the band played every night. When they walked in, it was crowded with people drinking booze and having a good time. Alice spotted the band leader flirting with a young lady. "There he is. Get ready to suck up." Alice said. "Right!" Eva replied. They approached him casually. "Hey." Alice said. "Hey. What can I do for you?" He asked. "We heard you're holding auditions for your band. Need a couple of singers?" "Hmm…" He said as he circled them and looked them up and down. "You look the part, but can you act the part?" He asked. "Try us." Alice said.
The band leader led them to the stage. "Whaddup!" He yelled. The crowd cheered. "Hey, so, we got a couple of girls wanting to try out for our band. Ready to show them some love?!" The crowd cheered and applauded again. "We're auditioning in front of all these people?" Eva asked nervously. "What did you expect? An orchestra audition? Now, get you're act together or I'm doing this gig on my own." Alice said sternly. "Right." Eva said. Alice whispered a song in his ear; one that she and Eva have been rehearsing. The drums began to pound, then the electric guitar began to buzz. The lights had shown on them and they were ready to sing. As they sang, the crowd went wild. They were screaming their hearts out to a death metal song and the band leader started to admire them. When they were finished, he shouted, "Now that's what I'm talking about! Everyone. Meet the newest additions to our band!" As there were clapping and cheering, Eva and Alice hugged each other as they jumped up and down. "We did it!" Eva said. "I knew you had it in you." Alice smiled.
The band leader led them to his office space to have them fill out some paperwork. "So, I'm Damion. And what might your names be?" "I'm Alice and this is my partner, Eva." "Partner? You mean, you two are…" "Oh, no. I have a boyfriend. I just meant we're going to be working together from now on." Alice said. "Heh, what a relief. Because…I think I kinda like this girl…" Damion said as he stood close to Eva. Eva blushed. "So whadda you say? Wanna hook up?" Damion asked Eva. Eva hesitated, and when Alice saw that she began to shake her head 'no,' she violently pulled her aside. "Now you better say 'yes.'" Alice demanded. "But…why?" Eva asked fearfully. "Because if you say no, he'll kick us both out. And if I get kicked out, you'll be sleeping on the streets!" Alice said angrily. Eva's eyes began to fill with tears, but she shook it off. "Yeah, we can hook up!" Eva pretended to sound emphatic. "Great! You won't regret it." Damion said as he wrapped his arm around her. "Hey, you guys down to go to a nightclub tonight? My treat." Damion asked. "Hell, yeah!" Alice exclaimed. Eva looked terrified.
Chris ended up driving them to a fancy nightclub in the city. Chris danced with Alice and Eva reluctantly danced with Damion. After they were tired out, they hit the bar. As Alice and Chris began to make out, Damion began to talk to Eva. "So, does my girl like the night life?" He asked. "Uh-yeah! It's sick!" Eva said. "Wanna drink?" Damion asked. "Oh, I'm not old enough." Eva said. "Heh, cute. Barkeep!" Damion said as he ordered them drinks. Eva took tiny sips, disgusted by it's taste but drinking it anyways. "You know, now that you're my girl you can crash at my place." "I'm…pretty comfortable back at Alice's." Eva said quietly. "Why are you so shy? There's nothing wrong with us living together." Damion said as he downed a shot. "Here, take a puff." Damion said. "I—uh, don't smoke either." "Well, you're about to." Damion insisted. Eva, fearing Alice, took a puff and began to cough violently. "Eh, you'll get used to it." He said as he smoked the rest of it.
When the party ended, they headed over to Chris' car. "Wait." Damion said before they got in. "What's up?" Alice asked. "Eva's coming with me." He said with a sinister look in his eye. When Alice and Chris began to laugh and snicker, Eva realized what would happen if she went with Damion. "No." Eva said. "What?" Damion asked bewildered. (For he was never turned down by a girl before, until now). "You heard me, no!" Eva said bravely. "I swear to god, Eva. You better go with him!" Alice snarled. "No!" Eva began to cry. "You know what? Fine. It's cool. I didn't need you guys anyways." Damion said as he walked away down a crowded street. "You bitch! You ruined us!" Alice yelled as she slapped Eva and pulled her hair. Chris managed to pull Alice off of her. "You know what? We're done! Come on, Chris! Let's go!" Alice said as they drove off.
Eva was brought to her knees and began to bawl. However badly she wanted to cry, she didn't want to in public. So she ran under a bridge and curled up in a ball. "Why?! Why am I so stupid?!" Eva cried out. "This was my chance to be a rock star and I blew it!" Eva huddled and cried herself to sleep under the sound of speeding traffic on a bleak and dreary night.
