Thrusday and Friday passed as normal with nothing important happening, with those days gone, never to return again, the quests were going to be refilled on Saturday around 2:00PM.
Friday at the end of the last lesson every kid rushed out of the school, be it either to the bus or to be picked up by parents or maybe to their bikes, everyone got out as fast as they could, meanwhile both Jerry and Quast were walking towards their stuff, in this case Quast was headed towards his bike and Jerry was going home by foot.
Both of them decided to schedule a sleepover at Jerry's house since it was the closest to the forest spot.
After leaving his school stuff at home, Quast took a backpack and filled it with all kinds of snacks he could find in the kitchen and set off to the sleepover location with his bike.
Arriving there was easy, and after the bike was locked infront of the apartment, Quast walked in and went up the stairs, after reaching the door of the Dankworth family he rung the bell, and to his surprise it wasn't Jerry that opened it, but it was his father, Stefan Dankworth, while his mother Marie Dankworth was watching television in the living room, after politely asking where Jerry was, Quast was lead in the direction of his friend's room, there sitting on his chair with headphones on the head was the host of the sleepover.
Jerry pointed at his monitor and Quast looked at it, a video was playing, the video was about a popular celebrity getting accused of something, Quast put a hand over his mouth and gasped, the celebrity in question was one that had carried him through his entire childhood by making fun and entertaining content.
"I really hope he didn't do that, well I haven't heard both sides of the story so it could all be wrong, I hope!" both of them put their hands in a prayer.
"Anyways, tomorrow the quests will be refilled, so we have something to look forward to!" happily said Quast.
Just as the days do, Friday went by fast. What the friends did at the sleepover was just watch stuff on their devices and occasionally play some 2 player games on Jerry's new gen console, it was fun for them.
But it was now Saturday, the day when Jerry would actually reach level 10.
It was still only 11:03AM, only 3 more hours until the fated refilling.
"Let's go out at 12 and walk to the forest, we can wait there." they both agreed and started getting ready early, that included charging their phones even when they were on 80%, and preparing a backpack with food and water.
When it was 12:00AM they left the house and said bye to the parents, after a solid 50 minutes of walking and navigating through the trail that they were now used to, they were once again there, in their forest spot with the dungeon entrance still unnervingly floating behind the trees and emitting deep blue particles, it was like someone was staring deep into the oceans.
"Maybe we shouldn't have went so early, we arrived faster than I expected." Jerry said looking at the time. There was still 1 hour and some minutes remaining.
"What did you expect?" Quast asked curiously.
"I don't know." clueless was the reply.
"We're lucky to have our phones, so we won't bore ourselves with waiting." Quast lifted his phone to the level of his face with a grin.
"Or maybe we can explore the the features of the system!" Jerry came up with a good idea.
"What's there to explore about them?" Quast sighed.
"The shop. Last time we checked in there you were still on the first page." suggested Jerry.
"I checked it when I came back home that day, it's got some pretty neat stuff, you're right." nodded Quast.
Jerry went over to where his friend was and Quast pocketed his phone and opened the interface and went to the Shop tab.
"Fun fact, I can share the shop with you, watch this." Quast said as the shop appeared infront of Jerry.
"Amazing."
"Yeah, I know, I mean it's kinda to be expected since what if I was away in another country and you wanted to buy something?" the time for the quests to be refilled approached as the leaves of the trees rustled.
After checking out items and reading their descriptions from the seemingly endless shop only 10 minutes remained.
"We should definitely earn some coins, otherwise we won't be able to buy anything." a thought went through their minds.
The items that caught both Quast and Jerry's attention were swords, magic orbs, magic staffs, spellbooks and many more fantasy-esque things, one question was asked by both of them.
"Since there are magic related items, then how do I use magic." Jerry asked.
"I really wish I knew." answered Quast "Anyways it seems like only a few minutes remain until we can do quests again."
"About time." Jerry said, however at the back of his head he was still wondering how to use magic and what magic even was.
The Metal Sword was summoned and was now being held in anticipation.
"It's time." Quast shouted. "Prepare yourself! We are beginning with the Very Easy quests."
To which Jerry responded with readying his sword.
The nostalgic quest window appeared infront, but something was different
[Defeat a fast slime]
[Difficulty : Very Easy][Rewards : 35 Experience]
"Woah, the amount of Experience went up again, what the hell?" Jerry remarked with wide eyes.
"Oh, I get it now." Quast said. "Everytime the quests are refilled the rewards go up by a little bit."
A little bit hurt that it implied that he was slow with levelling up, Jerry defeated the slime very easily to vent his meaningless frustration.
The fast slimes were a walk in the park for him now, with all 10 gone he had secured himself a nice 350 Experience, levelling him up as the interface opened
[Name : Jerry Dankworth]
[Blood Type : O-][Negative Effects : None]
[Gear : Metal Sword]
[Statistics : 19 Strength 11 Intelligence 16 Agility]
[15 Dexterity 12 Endurance 5 Luck]
[Level 8 : 145/750 Experience to Level 9]
[Attribute Points : 6]
[Skills : None]
the first thing that Jerry saw was that unlike previous levels, this time the Experience required to level up went by a margin of 150 instead of 100.
With two more levels needed for him to reach level 10, determined he waited for the Easy quests, but they were also different
[Defeat a strong slime]
[Difficulty : Easy][Rewards : 165 Experience]
After defeating 5 strong ones one after another he wiped the sweat that was gathering off of his forehead.
Another level up and he was now level 9, only 850 total Experience was needed for a level up and he already had 220, there were also 9 Attribute points waiting to be used.
With 4 more strong slime quests completed, he finally levelled up to level 10.
With the sword in hand that had been used to defeat lots of slimes he stared at the quest window as it dissapeared, however unexpectedly another one that wasn't a quest window appeared to take its place, as if everything else besides the new window had dissapeared Jerry was in a trance looking at it, on it several icons and text were scrolling past too fast to make anything out.
Jerry looked at it as it started slowing down until it stopped
[You have unlocked (Common Skill : Slash)]
[The weapon of your choice will start glowing and the next hit will deal 15% more damage.]
[Cooldown : 60 Seconds]
And a little icon of an afterimage of a sword slashing was near it.
As if broken out of the daze everything returned to normal and the forest surrounded him.
He looked at his friend Quast, but Quast was on the ground with his hands on his face as he was being bombarded with knowledge, knowledge about Skills.
With no time to react to anything Jerry just stood still as his interface opened infront of him
