"We still have 3 more Mediocre quests to go through." Quast said while doing something on his interface.
"Yeah." replied Jerry.
"Hey, what do you think the system has hidden over the world for us?" a sudden question was asked.
Jerry didn't know how to answer for a few seconds "I don't know... why are you asking?"
"Cuz I was just thinking about the dungeon that we found here." Quast turned towards it, the wind now a little bit stronger "It still has 26 days until it closes. When I got the knowledge about dungeons there were a lot more scattered over the world than you would think, I am unaware of their locations but I am just sure of it."
A shrug could be seen from Jerry. "Sounds about right."
An unexpected topic change "Hmm.. I've been asking myself this question for a while now, since we undoubtedly have these powers as we have already verified, then does it mean that there are other people with powers?" Quast knew not the answer.
"No, I don't think so, but it's a damn good premise for a novel. 'A boy suddenly awakens his powers and so do other people on Earth, join him on an epic adventure of romance and sorrow.'" in a monotone voice spoke Jerry. "If only it wasn't done already... a lot of times."
"Good one." Quast acknowledged and after letting it settle he continued "Let's do the last 3 mediocre quests and then we can go home."
A nod and then a sword was summoned out of thin air. "Let's do this." Jerry was ready.
"Am gonna scale up the difficulty just a little bit so you could get more Experience. Just a heads up."
"Ok." Jerry responded, he knew he'd be fine because of his new accessory.
[Defeat a slightly stronger goblin]
[Difficulty : Mediocre][Rewards : 900 Experience]
The slightly stronger goblin had heightened senses and its weapon was made out of a stronger type of wood, so it wouldn't break as easily.
The new goblin appeared and was the first to start running. Jerry still wasn't used to it, but he reacted in a calmer manner than he expected he could and observed the situation.
With his eyes staring at the enemy as it quickly made its way to him he readied himself to swing his sword whenever. The green monster also prepared to hit as its limbs moved in a manner that was beffiting of it.
The skill Slash was activated as Jerry evaded the barbaric swing, even though the goblin was shorter than him its sheer muscle power was other-worldly, the air pressure from the wooden club was strong, no average adult human could've ever done it, yet Jerry didn't feel scared because of all the Endurance he had "One hit to the neck will be enough." a thought was given before he confirmed that the goblin wasn't guarding its throat.
By some force of luck and strength the goblin was defeated and the quest was completed, it also dropped 15 coins, Quast didn't think that Jerry would be done so fast and neither did the person who just defeated the goblin.
The Experience needed for a level up was filled and Jerry unsurprisingly got a level up.
[Name : Jerry Dankworth]
[Blood Type : O-][Negative Effects : None]
[Gear : Slimy Metal Sword, Endurance Medallion{embedded}]
[Statistics : 26 Strength 11 Intelligence 20 Agility]
[15 Dexterity 12 Endurance 5 Luck]
[Level 12 : 30/1550 Experience to Level 13]
[Attribute Points : 6]
[Skills : Slash(Common)]
"Already 6 points!" stoked said Jerry "And if my math is right then just 2 more of the quests that give 900 Experience and I'll level up again. Hell yeah!"
However unexpected to him the next Mediocre goblin quest was much harder than the one where luck was included, because of some missteps Jerry had gotten hit twice, the first one was just a graze but the second one was almost a full on hit, it felt like the strongest kid in school had just punched you with all of his force on the shoulder, or atleast so according to the one being hit.
His friend Quast was worried about him but Jerry said that he was okay and with adrenaline rushing through him he defeated the green goblin and 10 more coins were collected.
Just 1 more quest to go until he levelled up.
"Sheesh, why do I always have to get hurt." a little bit annoyed said Jerry as he demanded the last slighty stronger goblin quest.
The pain had mostly dissapeared because of all the physical related stats he had, and the quest window appeared one last time for the next 96 hours.
"Just like that huh, and now after I do this quest we have to wait another 96 hours." a little bit dissapointed because he was in the fighting spirit said Jerry.
"Rome wasn't built in a day." and a smirk on Quasts face.
"Ah yes, very relevant." Jerry said, but still gave it a little chuckle.
The last goblin for the next 96 hours ran to attack as it usually did, just like he had become better and better the more slimes he defeated Jerry became better at defeating goblins, even though their movement patterns were more advanced than those of slimes, they were still simple in contrast to a human's.
The sword was also being handled better although he had never once before wielded a real one, he was indeed learning.
Even though he had never once before tried to parry an attack from an enemy he decided to give it a go, worst case scenario the goblin hits him in the head and he dies, but that wasn't going to happen.
As the goblin once again prepared the biggest strike of its life with the club behind its back and both hands on the handle it sped up more and more, Jerry knew when the moment was when he noticed it actually beginning the attack.
The gap between him and the goblin was being crossed faster and faster. With a determined look in its goblin eyes it swung, but the moment that happened with one hand on the blade and the other on the handle Jerry deflected the fiend's weapon.
While it was still recovering balance Slash was activated and as the name suggests, the head of the goblin was slashed off, a fine victory in Quast's eyes.
However the most important thing was the level up, level 13 had been achieved that day.
With 9 Attribute Points in Jerry's balance both of them decided to call it a day there.
1800 Experience was needed for level 14 and 280 Experience was already there.
