"Uhh I can't believe it, Monday has come upon me." everyone that was in the classroom thought.
"Everyone's depressed because it's Monday." Jerry turned to the back with his chair and looked at his friend Quast.
"Expected." Quast doodled a relatively crude drawing of a sword on his notebook, it wasn't the Metal Sword, it was just some random weapon scribbled out of boredom. "What do you expect people that had to wake up at 7 in the morning to feel?" and a yawn. Even though he had slept a lot more in the last few days, the spirit of a tired person still inhabited his body. "How much do you wanna bet that no one here has gotten more than 8 hours of sleep?"
"I can bet my old pencil if you want." Jerry answered.
Quast wasn't entirely right, because 5 people out of 23 had gotten 9-10 hours of sleep.
"Keep your pencil." A glance was directed at the clock, only to see that 4 more minutes remained till the first lesson started. "Eh, might aswell." Quast shrugged as he took his smartphone out of his pocket and hid it well as he googled something related to the homework that was being completed right now, indeed he had not paid attention in class last week as the teacher was explaining what was to be done at home. "So that's why it took me so little time yesterday." annoyed by the entire situation thought Quast. The school that was governing them had a policy of no phones, so if anyone that liked snitching caught him, the smartphone that he had spent so much time saving for would be confiscated.
Quast was determined not to let that happen as he returned his phone to the pocket of his jacket as the final answer on the worksheet was written down with the roughly drawn little sword in the top corner. "Perfect." he gave himself a figurative pat on the back.
The teacher came in soon after and everyone stood up as the greeting commenced, after that everybody sat down and the english educator started explaining something.
Almost every class in the school had atleast one annoying kid, and Quast and Jerry's wasn't different, there was a student that said he felt joy by irritating everyone in almost every subject except mathematics because he had respect for the teacher Ms. Johnston.
That students name in this case was Dale Hammond and even though he only did it occasionally it was still annoying for everyone, it seemed like today he was saying some stupid stuff loudly while the teacher was talking.
Mr. Jackson tried his best to ignore the annoying kid that he was teaching when some girls from the back told Dale to shut up.
"This is what school does to young people." chuckled Jerry.
"He was too weak to resist the urges." sadly whispered Quast as a joke.
Nothing remarkable happened that Monday and everyone went home.
Tuesday however was different, Jerry was bored so he searched through the school the entire recess for some fights to break out so he could witness them and maybe test his strength, if he was lucky then maybe some kid would attack him first, yes he was that bored.
Quast was eating with other people in the classroom and he knew well what his friend was doing, because Jerry himself told him.
The Endurance Medallion was hidden so it couldn't be seen on his neck as the hallways were traversed, not in the least surprised that the system also had the option of concealing accessories Jerry continued walking.
He strolled past the older students smoking as they noticed him and called him to come to them.
He knew his strength because of him testing a lot of stuff with his new found strength at home and there were still 9 Attribute Points that weren't allocated, all was well.
"Interesting, an unexpected development, I didn't think they'd call me. I thought they would ignore me as they usually do." were the thoughts of Jerry, but he didn't forget to send a message through the chat function to tell Quast what was happening, to which he almost instantly got a response.
[Quast]
[Today]
Quast : [Don't do anything that will get you in trouble.] - 9:46AM
[Think of message here...]
Immediately after that Quast added
[What if you cripple someone? Control your power even if you get in a fight of self defense.]
[Don't worry, I don't think this will escalate to a fight, theres 5 of them on the bench outside of the school ground, no way I can take on five people I think.] Jerry calmly responded.
A response popped up almost immediately after.
[No, you can definitely take down 5 people if you play your cards right, but I repeat again, don't get into trouble.]
Jerry : [Sure, I'll try my best.] - Sent 9:47AM
Quast : [You better do.] - Sent 9:47AM
This entire exchange of messages was almost 20 seconds long, nearly the exact time it took for him to reach the older students that were all sitting with a smoke in hand.
Five individuals in total 3 men, 2 women and they were all smoking.
"Hey you! What are you doing here all alone?" The one that looked the strongest said, cross legged with a cigarette in between his pointer finger and the middle finger, the smoke from the lit tip was rising up in the air.
Jerry though shortly how he should answer "I was just walking around the school."
The 2 women were snickering in the background also with cigs in hand, taking puffs and breathing smoke out.
"I don't like your additude, kid!" the strongest looking one raised his voice now. "But because I'm so nice I'll let you off if you just lick my shoes clean." a smile grew on the thugs face.
Jerry was laughing inwardly thinking "My guy, did you get these lines from a comic book?" but in earnest he was also thinking of how to react, on one hand he wanted to fight, but on the other he thought about the consequences of fighting.
He gave up and decided that if they were going to attack first it could all be counted as self defense, or maybe he should just run away.
"No, sir." with a smile on his face Jerry said.
The upperclassman with the smoke didn't know how to react for a few seconds until after a little bit he got mad, but by that time Jerry had decided to turn tail and ran back to the school, there he felt sad that he didn't get to fight and decided to tell everything to a teacher and next he went upstairs to his friend Quast to tell him what happened, to which he was congratulated for not fighting.
"But I really wanted to test my strength out." saddened muttered Jerry.
Quast held up a chocolate bar up to his friend, Jerry took it and answered with a thanks, after eating it, a sudden question escaped Jerry's mouth "What drugs cause overconfidence?"
"What a weird question." surprised said Quast while looking at his friend. "I don't know search it up or something." after a few seconds of going around the question in his head Quast continued "So were those smokers outside of the school on drugs?"
"Most likely, cuz normally they would just ignore me." Jerry suspected.
"What if theres a new drug going around in those circles of people?" Quast went to a conclusion.
"Perhaps, but it's unlikely." Jerry guessed. "Seems like the next lesson is about to begin." eyes were laid on the clock as the religious education teacher walked in.
The teacher that Jerry had alerted about the problem with the students who were smoking went to tell the principal and there was now a new thing on the principal's list that he should watch out for.
