Stunned by the beautiful chest Jerry looked at it with great interest.
"Go on, open it." Quast prompted his friend.
"Okay." Jerry said as he made his way to the beautifully designed chest in the now empty room.
It had no lock, and there was no need to even touch it, a new window appeared infront of Jerry when he was standing infront of it.
[Open dungeon clearence reward]
[YES][NO]
"Wait, why is there even a [NO] option?" Jerry asked confused as he chose [YES] and the chest started slowly opening by itself, inside it didn't seem to be anything other than coins, and indeed there were only coins to be had.
[You have recieved 1500 Coins as a reward]
"Oh cool, so no item?" Jerry was still happy at the coins though, with this the balance was now at 2430 Coins, quite a lot, and they both had no clue what they were even saving this coinage for.
"Aw man, you didn't get an item." Quast said a little dissapointed. "Well, it's still okay since 1500 Coins is a lot."
Quast walked to his friend and asked "So, do you want to close the dungeon?"
To which Jerry responded "Umm, sure?" not knowing where this question was coming from.
"We haven't explored the entire dungeon, there might be some items lying somewhere." Quast declared.
"Hmm.." and after some thinking Jerry decided that they should indeed just close it "This may be a stupid move from me, but I don't care, now that the boss and the mini-boss are gone this dungeon just feels out of place, I don't wanna explore it." this wasn't the best choice since there were a couple chests with some free common items still hidden in the dungeon.
Quast nodded and a notification window appeared infront of him and only him.
[Close the dungeon {Athrad's dungeon}]
[YES][NO]
"Final choice?" Quast asked before he did anything.
To which Jerry gave an affirmative and they were on their way to be teleported to the forest spot.
That feeling of dematerializing and materializing was felt once again and in the next moment they were on the grass.
"Damn bro, I'm trippin'." Jerry said as he regained his balance back, and Quast was also trying to do the same.
They were just standing still in the forest deciding on what to do, going home was the only option and it was also what they decided on.
"See ya." Jerry said as they parted ways and Quast got on his bike and rode away.
What they didn't know was that because Jerry had started producing mana, a new kind of energy that was unfamiliar to Earth, it would cause a new age for the planet as a whole.
Mana would slowly but surely spread over the world like a virus, and by just standing within a vicinity of a person with the power of mana it would spread over and over until almost every human would start producing it for themselves, almost all living beings on planet Earth would start producing mana, even plants.
Mana would be entered in physics as a new unit and all calculations would have to be redone.
But that wasn't within the grasps of Jerry's knowledge, and neither within Quast's.
Back at home the person who had just gotten the fire magic decided to test it out in the bathroom since he wanted straight access to water if anything were to go wrong.
"So how do I do it?" Jerry asked himself, a thought appearing in his mind that maybe he shouldn't do this at home, but he ignored his conscience.
He wanted to try out a little flame on the tip of his finger, and he was getting excited just thinking about it.
The index finger was put up and Jerry concentrated to make it happen, as expected a little scarlet flame appeared and even though Jerry had seen some strange stuff today, he just couldn't believe that magic existed for some reason. He decided to make the flame bigger and it grew in size, twice fold. He did it again and it grew even bigger now, almost as tall as the length from his wrist to the tip of his middle finger and atleast one or two centimeters wide, but a stop was put to the magic casting, because he didn't want to cause an accident and he exited out of the bathroom, excited about his new magic power.
With the personal interface infront of him, Jerry decided that all Attribute Points should go towards Intelligence, his Intelligence stat was now 20, and things could be memorized better by him now. Yet memorization wasn't needed since he could just copy and paste all the things that were going to be on a class test in the chat for him and Quast to copy off of.
Jerry looked at the gauntlets on his arms that only he and Quast could see, thinking of the dungeon that he was in today, but after getting a little sad he decided not to think back on it. Some debating later and the apartament was exited out of for a walk.
Meanwhile Quast was at home doing his homework for some reason, maybe just to take his mind off of things.
With the original mana coursing through his body, Jerry walked along the street, passing some people in the process, these people then passed other people and mana was spread more and more.
With the feeling of wanting to test his strength against an ordinary human being Jerry walked along the sidewalk that was headed towards school, he hoped that something interesting would happen along the way, then an idea went through his head, what if he made a bet with someone for physical related stuff.
That was until he saw a group of men in an alleyway to his right pushing some young girls to a wall.
"There's absolutely no way.." Jerry decided to be calm and walked in their direction "Ah, I'll just listen if they ask me for help." he thought
"Hey can you please help us!" the girls screamed and the men turned around to face Jerry.
Jerry turned around with tears in his eyes "Things like this don't happen in real life, I just refuse to believe it, this only happens in fiction."
A man out of the group shouted "So you want to help them, huh?"
"When did I say that?" Jerry was still in denial of the situation in front of him.
"Eh?" the man said genuinely shocked, but then decided to act like a delinquent "Well you still saw something you shouldn't have."
"Bro, what do you mean?" Jerry wasn't scared of these people at all and face palmed as he pointed towards the street. "You guys are literally doing this in broad daylight, literally I just turned my head and saw you here, how was I supposed to not see it? Sheesh, might aswell beat up anyone who walks these streets." with his finger pointed towards where the cars were driving outside of the alleway he said.
"That's a good point." one of the men acknowledged. "But you know that this won't stop us from beating you up, right?"
"If you start this fight, I'll claim it as self-defense when I win." Jerry shrugged with an overconfident smile on his face, and he actually had a reason to be confident and that reason was that he could win.
"Hmm.." one of the men grumbled "Alright guys let's not fight him."
"Boss, why? He's just a kid meddling in our business." the man who first talked said.
"He's giving off a weird energy." the boss whispered, this gang boss trusted his gut instinct, after all it had gotten him a lot of fights won. But it wasn't because of his gut instinct this time, it was because Jerry was near him and the boss had now started producing mana for himself and saw the difference in power, even though he didn't want to believe it, his instincts told him to go away. The men also realized this after the mana had settled within their bodies.
Jerry could hear the whisper and instantly thought they were referring to mana, because there wasn't anything else that would be considered as 'weird energy'. The men walked away and the girls quickly ran out of the alleway to somewhere.
"Weird..." Jerry muttered and also walked out of the alleyway a couple seconds later.
