Jerry had already used his magic on several occasions by now and had become increasingly better at controlling mana, it was just a matter of time until he could conceal how strong his mana truly was.
Quast was waiting at the forest spot for a minute or two until Jerry walked into the scene and they greeted each other, it was now time for the quests to begin.
"Hey, I don't think we picked out the best spot for my fire magic." Jerry looked at the viridescent, tall and relaxing trees that were positioned around them.
"That is true. Well nothing I can do about it, try your best not to burn down the forest." Quast said and began the quests.
[Defeat a fast slime]
[Difficulty : Very Easy][Rewards : 55 Experience]
As soon as they were given, the Very Easy quests were completed, and at a record breaking pace at that, Jerry got 550 Experience added to the amount needed for the next level.
Easy quests were also done fast, nothing in the Very Easy and Easy quests presented a challenge for Jerry anymore, and with all of the Easy quests gone in a short time too, only the Mediocres remained.
The 10 Easy quests were worth 220 Experience each and with the 10 of them done, a level up presented itself.
Up to this point there was no need for the Fire Magic to be used, but that would change for the Mediocre quests.
"Look at this cool thing I learned." Jerry said as he ignited the blade of the Metal Sword that he was holding. "It's a flaming sword. Cool, ain't it?"
"Creative." Quast replied.
"Nah, it was the first thing I thought of when I saw my sword." Jerry looked at the redder than normal flames that were burning upon the metal blade. "It drains mana though. I can sustain this for like 3 minutes without getting tired at all. I tried this at home."
"Haha, you tried it at home." for some reason Quast found this amusing and of comedic value.
"Don't worry, if something burns by my flames, then I can stop it." Jerry said and then quietly added "I tried that at home too." he also said as the sword was put out, since it was using up mana and not being used for anything.
"Nice." Quast slowly stopped his already low laughter and gave a thumbs up. "Alright starting the Mediocres." a short pause followed. "Ohhh.. wait a second, do you actually wanna do the maxxed out ones?"
"Sure, why not? I feel like the flaming sword would do more damage than the normal one."
"Famous last words?" Quast replied.
"Hopefully not." Jerry responded back as he readied up his sword.
[Defeat a horned goblin]
[Difficulty: Mediocre][Rewards : 2000 Experience]
The goblin had fully grown black horns portruding out of its head, around 7 centimeters tall from what Jerry could see and they were a little bit bent. As it appeared out of nowhere with a now dark grey-ish wooden bat in hand, it took a few seconds for the goblin to know what it was doing.
"2000 Experience?" "...Let me just add my 3 Attribute points into Endurance, cuz I don't feel confident at all." Jerry said as he upped his Endurance stat.
"Don't worry, I wouldn't give you a quest you couldn't complete." Quast said and almost instantly continued "I just know how strong you are and what your limits are, it's a thing that comes with the system."
But Jerry didn't have time to listen to what Quast was saying, since the goblin wasn't waiting for them to finish and started running towards the one with the sword.
The skill Slash and the ignition of the sword with Fire Magic were a great combo, strong enough to defeat the goblin, for sure.
Since Jerry was a quick learner, and because he fought with a true swordsman in Athrad's Dungeon, he could wield a sword very good for how long it was in his possession, of course it wasn't all him, the system also had somethings to do with it.
The goblin was now preparing a swing, the swing in question looked like it could break the bones of a normal human, with that knowledge, Jerry wasn't planning on getting hit, even if he had a decent amount of more endurance than a normal human, a hit looked like it would hurt plenty.
Jerry ignited the sword, and in the same moment used Slash, this action took less than a second, the yellow particles that indicated that Slash was active mixed together very beautifully with the crimson flames of the Fire Magic.
Reading the movements of the green creature with the coal black horns was very easy, and the first swing of the goblin's was evaded successfully.
Jerry dashed to the side of the goblin with the sword in hand that could do a lot of damage, more than the club that the goblin had.
An outstanding display of reaction time was shown from the goblin as it turned around to block the swing from the sword.
Jerry couldn't stop his swing and decided to hit the wooden weapon of the goblin with full force to see whether the club would break or not.
It went about halfway through the grey-colored wooden club of the enemy, and that's when Jerry remembered that wood was flammable, and that there was another thing he was capable of with Fire Magic, making the flames burn more rapidly was also something possible, and because the flaming sword had the Fire Magic on it, he could now control the relatively weak flames that were on the goblin's wooden club.
"...The flames spread so fast onto the club." Jerry thought, quite surprised at what he did.
The fire on the goblin's weapon was now reaching its hands and it dropped it to the grassy ground purely out of instinct, yet the grass didn't set aflame, this gave time for Jerry to dash back to it and cut the green skinned enemy down.
The quest was completed and the one who defeated the enemy was rewarded 2000 Experience.
"Damn, that was easier than expected." Jerry turned around to his friend. "And I've managed to not get hit."
"Oh yeah.. now that you say that, you were hit quite a lot in the previous quests, and you were cut in the dungeon by Arthur.. how are those wounds?" Quast asked.
"Definitely healing faster than expected." Quast's friend responded.
